RuneScape - Helped My Grades?

Featured Replies

Ha! Too bad I'm out of highschool now, and runescape doesn't realy help me with my College studies. However, a while ago I didn't realy know what Wizards and things like that were. When I found out about runescape, I finally knew what they were.

Maybe the sense of well-being in runescape, and being able to complete something well has helped you in your confidence to do well? Or maybe something to look forward in your free time on you computer so you do better?

My grades go fine reguardless if I'm playing Runescape or not. I usually take a break for the last term because of assessments and Exams (which I did) and do fine. Then the rest of the year I'm good again. Doesn't affect me what so ever.

Even on my death bed, I'll bare-hand that bloody shark.

You don't seem to know why exactly it is your grades have dropped. You seem to think Runescape might have to do with it, but have you actually done some introspection to understand why your grades have dropped, or is this just some clueless guess because you have no idea why?

Pretty much yes, but I don't see any other reason as to why they would. Some of my friends have said, stress, but there's not more of that in my life then there was before, maybe even less then before #-o

There's always a reason behind things. Ask yourself some questions, do some introspection, you'll find the reason why your grades have dropped. I doubt Runescape has to do with it.

I seem to recall awhile back someone posted a topic stating that Runescape saved his life. He said that because of the motivation he got when he achieved something on RS helped his self esteem in real life, for example if he'd pk before school and got a good drop then he'd be happy for the rest of the day and so on.

Perhaps this is the reason why he may be getting worse grades. Since their is no motivation for him anymore, his grades have begun to slip.

Is there any other factors? You have just mentioned you stopped playing runescape how can we make a judge meant if we don't know what else has changed in your life?

Did you bump ur head?

I really can't see how runescape helped you that much unless it was because runescape was keeping your mental health quite healthy. Keeping you in a good mood so your brain works better. As it will if ur in a better mood then a bad one.

I don't know a lot of aspects of runescape because i play how i like and pretty much basic ways to lvl skills. From this i can't see any memory helpers throughout runescape. However, if something you were doing required using your memory everyday you played this could be the reason is has decreased over time after quiting.

Those are my thoughts hope you work it out :-w

Similar story for me mate, Runescape helped my grades...Actually:

My Motivation and Runescape were heavily linked.

Like you, i was hacked, and i played 3 hours a day, efficiently skilling. I got A's in all subjects until i was hacked and then it slipped downhill. I will be able to pull most of them back. I have now quit completely and think i am on my way back up. I was highly motivated on RS and in RL; but was forced to seperate motivation and Runescape success.

You gotta go cold turkey to getg out of it mate, otherwise your not gonna bounce back IRL. i don't think i've gone cold turkey enough, seeing as i'm on these forums still, so have doubts for my grades. You gotta let RS go i'm afraid. Well atleast i had to. Hanging on only reminds you of how much you lost.

Yeah...Some people just go out of their way to ruin other peoples fun.
Sounds like Jagex to me...

Well...

U r going to quit rs eventually. Right??

Dont tell me ur gonna playing when ur an adult living at ur mothers house (40 year old virgin)

OR

Playing when having kids cuz that is just ...

anyways just study!

And live on wth ur life

Runescape helps with my grades because when I have homework I make myself fish or something so then I have nothing to do on runescape and have to do my homework :D

Dragon Drops - 4 Axes, 2 Left Halfs, 1 Med, 3 Legs, 1 Skirt.

Barrow Drops - Lots, I lost count.

Want to make some money while fishing/woodcutting or anything else AFKable on RS? - Site I use to make money for membership and lots of other things. (Total $$$ so far - 125.60)

I quit and have lost 5 pounds, plus my grades went up a ton. The only thing I got out of RS was typing skills and now things are going much better in my life, worst decision to start playing and best to quit. :D
