I know demoncracy and dictatorship (Please correct my spelling if needed) are not something that is so suited to talk about in a game. But dosen't the game become more and more like a dictatorship with Jagex as the dictator.

In a game, we play it for few reasons. Mine: Fun, the social activity and the challenge.

Now, what's fun when Jagex makes bad updates and then tweaks it a tiny bit. Doing these updates stops RWT, but it also stops us enjoying the game. We can now longer choose our own price for items at GE, and trying to sell em at old market dont work much as people often use GE (I know i have been used to it now). Theyve said they got a team to work on prices at GE, still there are alot incorrect prices. Every part of the game is slowly being controlled over. To me the game seems 20% like a dictator game, where we are forced to do stuff we dont want to. I wish i could choose my own choises. Few days ago i died at Banods boss, cause of a massive lagg that came from server. During that time, if i lagged out my gravestone ( which was blessed by friends) would disappear. But it could be simplier, and less time wasting if my friends just picked up stuff. To me the gravestone is not a good idea, if logging out makes it disppear/break.

What happend to the democracy in games -.- And making updates like trade limit and the "Loan trade" that their gonna launch too is stupid. Cause it makes us focus more about items than our friends and the social aspect of having fun with other players.

Id rather be scammed, stolen from rather having to be forced to make a choise. I was once scammed a addy b axe as lvl 20 combat, after that ive never been scammed. My team got scammed hilt recently, we have learned the lesson:

"DONT RECRUITT STRANGERS NO MATTERS HOW STRICT YOU ARE ON THEM"

That guy who scammed, was the 1st stranger and as i have said...the last one to be in our team.

P.S: This is not about topic, but the scammer...went through a 10M test. I told him, if he want to join team he must give me 10m and risk it. He gve me it, igave back. Then i thought he was agood and decent person like everyone else in team. But seems he wasent lol, what a nerd <.<

You know why it's a like a dictatorship? Because it's their game. They can do whatever they want with it, we have no say, that's how it works when it's their game, we only play it. I mean, come on? A democracy in Runescape? Should we be walking through Lumbridge and see election posters? Vote Kingtyguy into Runescape congress! Should there be an election day in Runescape?!? Since all of that is impossible, there can be no democracy, besides, i doubt Jagex wants us to tell them what to do, I bet they know more than us on how to improve the game, most of the time.

They have asked our opinion afew times through the poll before, but not everyone can/ does vote in that, so since you're even assuming there can be a government in the game, there can't be a democracy.

Jagex is not a government. Jagex is a corporation that privately owns an online game. They allow you to play their game, but you have zero rights in-game. They can do whatever they want. It is only through their graces that you are playing the game in the first place.

Just like when people on Tip.It scream about free speech, the answer is the same: privately owned forum/game, you waive your rights for the privilege to use it. There is no correlation to government whatsoever.

LMFAO!!!!!

Didn't you call people who go to godwars nerds earlier? I think you need to look at yourself, then you will realise who the real nerd is.

This is a game, not a dictatorship, don't like it? The door is over there.

Stop making pointless threads.

The key element that you forgot in your [baseless] rant is that this is Jagex's game. Typically, dictators take over things that aren't theirs, but if you're only levying down authority on something that belongs to you anyway, it can't be called being a dictator.

So get your definitions right. This ain't no Democracy; this is their game. If you don't like it, the exit is to your right.

Yikes.. since when is it okay to outright flame someone for their opinions? Misguided perhaps.. but you don't scream at him for writing about them! My flipping god! If people who actually read the rant they would clearly see that, although muddled in misconceptions and inaccuracies, this rant does have relevance!

Is it just me or does SirHemen like posting bad rants?

Please explain to me what purpose do these spammy replies have other than to flame the poster. Wow.. last time I checked, flaming was against the rules. I guess it isn't anymore..

In some ways, Jagex is the "government" of Runescape. By no means was he being literal! However, he does seem to mix up the ideologies of socialism and fascism with the concept of a dictatorship.

If he was referring to Jagex becoming more and more like an actual dictatorship, then his complaint is irrelevant because Jagex has always been a dictatorship. Since Jagex owns Runescape, you can't possibly expect it to be another way. It would be well in their rights to do whatever they please with the game, and the users who choose to play it. This makes Runescape unlike a country- it's citizen's can choose to be a part of it's community whenever they feel like it, and if they get fed up with the new updates, they can always simply quit. In this instance, we see a near reversal of roles-with the player community exerting control over Jagex's actions, not by the law, but by Jagex's own motivation to make money. Now, if Jagex had no such motivations, they would implement whatever updates they wanted; hell, they could even make the game about Nazi Carebears raping innocent children. However, since Jagex is motivated by is own desire to make money, they would do no such thing because who in their right mind would want to pay for such a game?? As you can see, there is a clear difference between would do and could do.

If he was referring to how the economy of Runescape is becoming more like a socialist state, then the complaint is perfectly relevant if he prefers a more capitalist system.

If he was referring to how the fictional "laws" (AKA, the updates killing merchanting, staking, and player-killing.) are becoming more fascist, then the argument still has some relevance, but only in a sense. Now, the game and it's "laws" will never be truly fascist because the players will always have the choice to play or not play the game. However, they are somewhat fascist because they limit the activities that a player can partake in while playing.

I forgot that Jagex has right to do what they want...that's all.

It's stupid to be honest to forget that, but if Makers of a game played along with the players. Im sure the game would be a great game.

Creaters, earn tons cash of their creation.

Gamers, have fun playing the game. ::'

This is what i meant to be honest, but i guess im bad with words. But i can't say the same about you Uno lol.
