January 4, 200818 yr jagex are clever. All the emphasis on summoning in my opinion is to try to dampen the huge blow that they delivered taking out the wilderness, stopping friends giving gifts, and stoping staking and merchanting. I also agree with you on that point. Jagex has created some updates that have angered some or most of the Runescape community. To combat this resentment, they provide us a update to take our minds off these "mistakes". I think players who did not pk much in the 1st place will easily forget about the updates, but pkers in general will still have some kind of resentment towards Jagex for basically taking out their enjoyment livelihood out of Runescape. January 4, 200818 yr How will they get logs.....eating trees? How will they get fish........ Putting their head in the water? 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM
January 4, 200818 yr I think theres a possibility of them providing an aura rather than directing aiding in the skills or combat. Except its summoning and people who train combat expect something to fight by their side.. so I dont know. Seems a bit overkill though to all the existing monsters already released.. Even if it needs charging it only takes a few minutes to kill the hardest stuff and having a little demon by yourside will make it all the easier. I doubt jagex will allow demons to carry your stuff. Perhaps instant bank that needs a very high level using all your charge. Making it rather useless unless your standing near a er.. whatever they called it. Summoning alter thing. An aura wouldnt act much different from your demon to having them directly cut trees themselves though. Its either ganna be them doing it or aiding you by increasing your chances or something. I think your right though whatever way it works im sure it will increase the supplies but I dont think it will completely cover the loss of bots. Only help a little to recover. Especially on the first few weeks when everyone is testing it out. That stock should help alot to recover prices too. Remember many bots were in F2P and we dont know what F2P will be allowed when it comes to summoning. If F2P get any great benefits that will help us members alot when it comes to supplies and recovering from loss of bots. *Whips f2pers to work* :-w VMeh BlogV >Miscellaneous Goals< http://www.rsbandb.com/sigs/sig108/bazzaminxer.png
January 4, 200818 yr I don't think it was made to make up for the loss of bots in the slightest..... but that does not mean that it may not fill it's shoes :) The skill has been in development since before Jagex started it's all out war on autoing, and so I don;t think it can be directly linked. I personally am expecting a great skill that will benefit part if every skill to some extent..... we will have to wait and see.
January 4, 200818 yr I really doubt they will make the monsters help you with skills. If they do, they will be about as usefull as the Throne of Miscellania workers. In other words, useless. Hehe, a monkey growing flax. and soulwolfs picking you're herbs? Kiss me, i'm part Irish!
January 4, 200818 yr I really don't think Jagex would just make summonables to do all your work for you. And even if they did, they would probably be much more limited then was the extent of autoers, which could collect resources all day, not just for a particular time.
January 4, 200818 yr What if: after the release of summoning, massive numbers of F2Pers would join rs, start working on summoning and woodcutting, fishing , or mining, and use summoning to assist gathering rescources from those skills. It would be like the bot problem really wasnt taken care of. Now since of the trade limits, it can only trade 3000 gp worth of rescources at any 1 point of time but still the bots could be rejoivinated but in drastically smaller numbers. Even though theoretically the bots could be rejouvinated in very small numbers, they could still reak havok in the markets. This is starting to look like something from The Matrix Saga with the great human purge happening 5 times(I think). Anyways with todays better computers if something like this would happen, it would be difficult for JaGex to get rid of. :-k Bring it on!
January 4, 200818 yr i have noticed in the last few updates that have been anti-bot based and a issue of changeing the game too much. and around the time all this started, summoning hype. has any other new skill been hyped at all? i remember slayer, POH and farming where really quite sudden 5% of people want an original signature if you are one of these people don't put this in your signature
January 4, 200818 yr They(jagex) said summoning would be combat related(its supposed to raise the max combat lvl to 136), Also its kind of hard to imagine wierd creatures fishing and woodcutting. You ever seen a Duck Billed Platypus or a Beaver at work in the wild? Owned? i have noticed in the last few updates that have been anti-bot based and a issue of changeing the game too much. and around the time all this started, summoning hype. has any other new skill been hyped at all? i remember slayer, POH and farming where really quite sudden Construction was severely hyped, but under the persona of carpentry. Hunter was hyped-ish, but not much, but I do agree that Slayer and Farming came quite quickly. Summoning may well economically counteract the instability cause by a sudden drop in production, caused by the elimination of bots, which is a good idea on Jagex's part. But Jagex has a thing with trying to hit several targets with one shot. Summoning will also help in combat (and most likely will aid in all three combat types), produce a more varied array of possible inventories for combat, while also helping in skills. ~ W ~
