Great guide. Very profitable.

I would advise using super compost - it increases yield rates by ALOT. And only takes 1 pineapple per ranarr seed. Best to by from catherby. Talk to the guy near the bank - NOT TRADE - And ask about pineapples. You can buy a max of 40 per day.

Excellent guide. :D You might remember me from before the rollback lol.

I like to now do a mid-level farming circuit I came up with (PM me on forums if you want it, I'll send it to you) and have ranarrs farmed with it so that I'm not losing so much money on the trees. Plus, it helps with getting 2 skills to my goal of 50+ all skills. \:D/

You failed to mention snapdragon and kwuarm farming, which are both just as good/better than ranarr farming once you can do em.

You also need to not use the dark green font color, since it's impossible to read on the dark grey background.

10+ Normal Compost (Or Super Compost)

Wrong. There is no "or." It is supercompost only. With the incredibly low prices of supercompost and the even lower prices of pineapples and watermelons, you should have no reason to use regular compost. Shame on you for advising it.

There are 5 farming patches in RuneScape that have herb allotments in them, but i am only going to list 4 because the fifth is hard to access and not worth the time in my opinion.

Wrong. The 5th patch is very quick to reach and is protected 100% from disease. And the quest is simple and entertaining--best cutscenes of any quest by far. You get to watch the Drunken Dwarf be knocked off a cliff and then get his leg eaten by a baby troll. Now that's what I'm talking about.

Step 1: Teleport to varrock, and go to the grand exchange, once you arrive, buy 4 rannar seeds at the maximum price, do not buy them at the lowest price, because nobody will sell them, and it is only a 1k difference after all.

You should buy a big lot of seeds in advance so you can go on many runs before they run out. Having to buy new seeds every run makes it take longer.

Step 3: Teleport to Ardougne, and run to the farming patch north of east ardougne, use your rake on the herb allotment. When you are done raking the allotment, use your compost on it, and then your ranarr seed.

A skills necklace is faster.

Method 1:

You can sell your ranarrs, using the grand exchange, this is the most profitable method. Ranarrs are 7k each in Grand Exchange.

Your profit using this method is:

28 Ranarrs * 7k = 196k

196k minus the 80k spent on seeds:

116k profit with 5 minutes effort

Method 2:

You can use your ranarrs to make prayer potions, this way you will gain herblore AND farming exp! You can then sell the prayer potions, or do barrows or kill aviansies with them (I killed aviansies)

Because knowing that you will get atleast 20 prayer potions each hour, and knowing that you will drink 15 prayer potions per hour at barrows/aviansies, will ALWAYS make you break even OR make profit!

You forgot making them into unfinished potions before you sell them. The unf pot is worth more than just the herb, and people do buy them.

- You can also use a combat bracelet to teleport to legends guild, this is closer to the ardougne patch, this will increase the speed of ranarr farming.

You mean Range Guild I assume. Combat bracelet can't teleport you to the Legends Guild. Although you could take the fairy ring BLR--there's another ring south of the Phasmatys patch, so it's a fair possibility.

Well, other than these mistakes, you have a good guide. Excellent pictures, and you've motivated some new people to train a great underrated skill. Kudos.

 • 4 weeks later...

It would be a good idea to add that the new Explorers ring (3) from the Lumby acheivement diary is also really nice to have. The teleport (which is unlimited) teleports you to the cabbage patch right under the Faly farming patch.

Having some trouble with some pics :?

And some of the wierd greeny colour text is hard to read on a grey background.

I personally think My Arms patch is worth doing even if it is out the way as it will never get diseased.

Also, for just those patches you don't need the fire and earth runes opening up 2 more spaces for what I explain below.

What I've been doing is keeping as many spaces open in my invent as possible and filling it with buckets of sand that you get free after Hand In The Sand, empty those buckets then use them on a Compost Mound summon, I have over 100 pouches left from training, give these too the the leprechaun as he can hold 255 of them that you can take out at each patch or as many as you need and there is a small chance of a super compost. It quickly adds up.

It's also worth using the first compost bin you get to to make super compost (I usually use pineapples/watermelons), it takes 15 of them which you have space for, then next run it will be ready, I think you get 15 buckets worth from each bin and can fill your leprechaun with these too.

Nice guide though, I'm going to have to start planting herbs :P

The colors need changing, now. I can't read half of it (the brown-green-ish color) without highlighting it, and that's a hassle. The other color (the more 'normal' green) isn't exactly easy to see either.

Tips & Tricks

- Use an amulet of nature on the first patch you plant a herb in, then when that patch is ready, the amulet of nature will tell you, this way you always know when your herbs are ready

- You can also use a combat bracelet to teleport to legends guild, this is closer to the ardougne patch, this will increase the speed of ranarr farming.

- Always wield your magic secateurs when you have them while farming. It will

It will what? I know what they do, but you need to finish the thought.

You should mention that the new Explorer's Ring (reward from Lumby achievement diaries) has a teleport that takes you much closer to the Falador patch than a Glory teleport will.

2/10 simply because of the colors (it's understandable if this was written before the forum change, but if you update the guide at all you need to fix it). 7/10 if you fix the colors, fix your grammar and spelling errors (nothing major, but capitalization is missing in some places), add in the explorer's ring, and finish your sentence in the Tips section; possibly higher if you include methods using other herbs.

Obtained quest cape and base 92 before obtaining any 99s! Currently finishing out my 99s with the (long-distant) goal of comp cape.

Why do people have to tell :x . It only makes the rannarr seed price skyrocket, and the clean rannarrs go down..., Rannarrs aren't good to farm anymore :x .
