99 Herblore

Anyone with experience with Herblore Training:

Are there any methods that cost only ~50m for 99? Or is it usually around 60-70?

Are current herb vs pot prices bad for training?

I'd wait at least until Summoning is realized so you can see what will happen to prices.

Honestly, I'm pretty low on Herblore but... I would wait it out before trying to raise herblore. The current prices of pots are very, very low compared to the herbs.

Exactly!'

If you try to raise Herblore with anything other than Prayer Potions, you will be losing ALOT of money.

Take Super Attack Potions for example.

Outcome

Irits=1.2k ea

+

WFV=100-150ea(?)

+

Eye of Newts=100ea

----------------------------------

1.4kea

Income

Super Attack Potions=300ea

Total Income

300-1400= (-900)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So (-900)gp per every pot made. Considering it will take around 30k+ potions to do this, you'd earn a "healthy" (-270+)m :|

I see here good idea to train herblore to level when you are able to make all potions, i don't see at this days point of money loose, except you are Zezima or Yogosun :)

Suggestion: You can use Anchor on Waterfiends - is cheap if to compare to GS & effective with crush attack & it hit like Whip.

it depends what you like doing. always spend within your means. meaning if you are able to make a lot of money quickly by all means spend quickly but dont bury yourself into a hole.

now the first thing you would want to do is buy water filled vials. enough for 99 and then some. and i know what i'm talking about. :) i do have 99 herblore. the rest i'm going to leave to you because i think it takes away some of the fun if someone just hands you that information. take a look at the herblore 2nds which are the easiest/cheapest to get/buy?

now take a look at the herbs; what gives what xp and what can you sell and what can you accept as a loss? are some potions easier to sell? are there some potions you plan on using yourself? 99 herblore is very achievable. good luck with it. 8-)

I know that A.G.E., people I talk too have been making alot of Serum 207(3). It uses tarromin and ash and gives 50xp. Although it has pretty much no after market use. Ash is extremely common and can be bought cheaply on G.E. also. Tarromin is also common and cheap and you can get good amounts from MTK.

I think now is a perfect time to buy supplies for 99 herblore. Herbs are cheap, and even though pots are cheaper, prices will go back up eventually, and you can sell then for a profit.

Main point is to get 99 herblore, which requires a loss of money unless you train it with other methods but it will be very slow. I don't mind spending ~50m on it. I just want the cape cause I like the colors. :-w

Yeah I used Serum 207's to get to my current level but doing it to 99 would require a lot of tarromin and ashes (245,684).

I suppose if I can't find any alternatives with less potions, I'll do it this way. I have some ashes stocked up from when GE opened up too.

Thanks for the advice Vincent, I'll take all that into consideration when I stop by the GE later and look at prices.

Same to you ikraz66.

Its pretty much the same with all costly 99's.

You can either buy the cheap items and make them into pots at poor exp rates (I.E serum 207) or you can buy the more expensive items with fast exp rates (I.E sara brews).

Basiclay its the age old EXP V COST question.

Whatever one you choose will get you there in the end, One choice quicker, The other slower but cheaper.

N.B Sorry if i didnt answer your question as you would have liked.

Yeah I'm more looking for an answer that pertains to current prices of herbs and pots.
