yeah i know i could do granite, but the fact that its in the desert, and i have to run back and forth to get water is not appealing to me :(

Lunar Spellbook + Humidify = no moving at all

Yes, as mentioned, granite is by far the fastest exp if you either have humidify or that new tiara, but imo isn't that good until 75+. At that level you can 1-hit most rocks.

If you really don't want to mine granite, iron is the next best for exp. find 3 rocks close together, the ones in al kharid mine are best because they box around you meaning no moving. Don't power mine coal ever, it's way slower than iron, but it might be good to mine a few k and bank when you get bored of powering.

I got 85 mining on f2p and i had a great mining method that was a good mix of speed and profit, and minimum boredom.:

Go to the falador mines with fire staff equipped and nats and pick in inv, not the guild part, but just north, there's 3 addy rocks. Mine them, and while you wait for them to respawn, powermine the 3 nearby iron rocks. when you have a full inv of addy ores save for 6 empty spaces, move on to the guild and mine coal/superheat your ores. You can make a nice profit from the bars, or fletch/smith them yourself for extra exp.

I would never powermine coal because it is way too slow to even one hit it for more than a few times in a row. If you want to mine coal you would almost be forced to bank it because of how expensive it is. Also it can be mined so close to a bank that there is no point in dropping it.

Do something productive as I did.

Anything realy banking coal,iron,gold,etc

But if your going to powermine iron in Al Khaird at the 3 rock area until 85 mining then granite in the desert the rest of the way.

I suggest having a water tiara or humidify to camp in the desert.

At your level, you can start powermining granite.

http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=706030

And for granite powermining good to have lunar magics and be able to use spell which fill all your waterskins..

Now my question: Why you want Mining 99 ? is one from hardest skills... and not so big effect of having this skill hight, look ranks at hiscores:

Agility rank 1000 = 95lvl and 9,054,970XP

Mining rank 1000 = 97lvl and about 11MXP

Cooking rank 1000 = 99lvl and 18,795,179XP

Fletching rank 1000 = 99lvl and 19,035,172XP

but for me like owner of agility cape i think mining is harder then agility i tried a bit powermine but it take a while, exp is slow...

you will be 818 who got mining 99 if you get it today, but i suppose it will take like 3-6 months.. and no any benefits from it except skillcape and emote:)

Suggestion: You can use Anchor on Waterfiends - is cheap if to compare to GS & effective with crush attack & it hit like Whip.

I agree with kemikalkadet. I have 99 mining and found the real way to achieve was to vary methods. I did not power mine until level 92 because I wanted the smithing level.

When I did I powermined iron in desert and mined the two addy ores when they spawned. I continued until I had a full load of addy.

So it appears that really you do need to raise your smithing in order to keep your interest from waning.

35k xp per hour is what I used to get in desert with iron but I also used kemikalkadet method in dwarven mine.

One other place I regularly used was Lumby swamp. I would do some water runes for runecraft then either collect mith and addy ores or superheat ores to bars. Not particularly fast but something a little different

I thinked here a bit and i got idea, i think some ppl use it too.

Equipment wielded

---

Fire or Lava staff;

Skill neckacle;

Inventory

---

Pickaxe

Corresponding to bars count - nature runes count;

-

Boots of lightness (not required);

Spottier cape (not required).

Optional equipment

---

Glory - for draynor village banking - but it take 1 inventory slot because Skill neckacle require to have too;

or

Ring of dueling for CW banking - but it will be some waste of dueling rings;

Requirements

---

Spell: Item Superheat

Tactics

---

1. Using skill neckacle you teleport to mining guild;

2. Walking to mith rocks or when you wait for mith rock spawn you mine coal...

2.1 Possible to mine full inventory of coal and when mith rock spawns you just drop 1 coal ore and mine mith, then superheat it to mithril bar and pickup your coal ore;

2.1.1 If you know then soon will spawn more then 1 mith rock - drop more coal and if you loose some don't care about it, here is a lot of coal and you allways can mine more (in same way you get more XP per run) just main priority is to get mith ore;

2.2 When you almost full sometimes you need to temporary drop bars to mine some coal to make last bars;

2.3 Possible tactics sometimes to check for 3 Addy rocks in north outside mining guild.

2.4 If you have full of coal and mith rocks not spawned yet, drop some coal ore and mine it again - never stay just waiting - time is exp or money whatever.

3. When you are full of bars or ready to go just use your optional teleport item put stuff in bank, check your teleportation items, get some more natures and again use skill neckacle..

I think here you need same count of game neckacles and glories, if you at begin get both teleport items at (4) then you will have to change they at same time when you return to bank.

I hope it helps for someone :)

Suggestion: You can use Anchor on Waterfiends - is cheap if to compare to GS & effective with crush attack & it hit like Whip.

I'm only 80 mining, but I know how BORING mining.

ONLY do it if you are fully determined!

Mining is probably the hardest skill in terms of clicking. It isn't like woodcutting or fishing where you can just click and it does it for you. Mining, you click... you wait.... then you click again! Then you have either drop or bank your load. There are no good banks near a good mine, with coal or iron.

But... if you are very determined, don't read that.

Iron = the best - Without doubt.

Granite is for short term goals, due to the Water skins. Coal is just crap now. My friend is 99 mining, and he says coal isn't even worth mining. This is what he did:

70-75 Addy (I REALLY don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t' know why)

75-90 Iron (for the xp)

90-96 Gold (For cash I guess

96-99 Iron (for the xp)

I must say that both irons he done, he dropped all the ores, where as the addy and gold he banked. He is convinced Iron is the BEST, and Granite is just a waste of time, and as coal.

But if you get bored easily, then don't say 'I'll listen to music!̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢

Music will now overcome the boredom you will encounter from mining!

Mining is a non-stop job. If you give up half way you'll be pissed off, and that̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s not what we want!

I'll have to say it, but the only way you can get to 99 is if you 'no-life' for 2-3 months. I don't care what anyone says, but any 99 you need FULL concentration and determination. I WAS going for 99 Firemaking; I gave up when I got to level 50!

ANYWAY! Good luck, if you get there, I WILL quit Runescape and give you all my money. You can print screen this, I don't care :)
