Yaff, that style of music is fine, but if you aren't broadening your horizons to other genres you really don't know what you're missing.

All you have to do is get Pandora, and force yourself not to look at the artist or song titles. That'll broaden your horizons.

Nightwish

Is the only band that I listened to, which sounded decent live.

I'm convinced to group with friends and go to a concert sometimes... Even if I like the artists, sometimes the live performance ruins the song  Crackling voice & weak guitar solos FTL...

Yeah, yeah.. I know the finalized MP3 has like 10 layers of voice and is heavily studio edited, but still...

I love going to concerts, especially metal ones. Theres something about the atmosphere, a violence and energy which manifests itself in the crowd. I've been to some classic rock shows as well and although the band performed great and everyone was into it, I felt as though I was still a spectator rather than participating in an event. I was at a jazz show the other day and they played brilliant music, which made me feel very good; just not the same sheer exhillaration I feel after seeing Machine Head or Stone Sour (yeah not very heavy comparatively but they had the nuttiest crowd I've ever been in).

First Gig - Wishbone Ash

Second - Stone Sour

Third - Battle of the Bands Final

Fourth - Stone Sour

Fifth - Wishbone Ash

Sixth - Dream Theater & Symphony X

Seventh - Machine Head, Arch Enemy, Trivium.

P.S Is Dragonforce any good live? I've heard people say they suck [wagon].

No, they're horrible. They barely hit any of the notes right in solos, and They hit about 80% of the notes in pother places. Look of some live videos on youtube if you want.

Going to see Against Me!, Serj Tankian, and Foo Fighters tonight :D:D. I'm really excited, I haven't been to a concert in nearly a year.

I'm going to this concert in may:

About this:

This is going to suck badly for me. I was going to buy tickets today, and I learned that nobody in my family wants to go there, and there is no way I can/will go to Detroit by myself to see the concert. So it seems that I won't be seeing three of my favorite bands :(.

My first was an Elton John concert, although that was my parents taking me. Then I saw Billy Joel in Vancouver, then some friends and I went to Calgary and saw Rush, then a different group of friends and I (with one of the same friends) went to Vancouver to see Rush again. It was AMAZING. I would really love to see that prog concert - that sounds awesome...

Why even try with that idiot? Honestly, there is no point whatsoever. I'd get better replies if I argued with a tree stump.

First: Goo Goo Dolls and Five for Fighting (I was like 8 haha)

Second: Rage Against the Machine and Queens of the Stone Age last summer. Rage's second show together in 8 years.

Third: The Mars Volta. 3 straight awesome hours of playing. Very skilled musicians.
