Linking Park arn't bad. They're not good either, but they're not bad. I do find it ironic how everyone who got into rock (or any of it's variants) started with Linkin Park. They're a gateway to music. When Linking Park made it into the charts and MTV, they breached a whole new fanbase. Do you seriously think people like Rage against the Machine and NOFX would be as famous as they are now without Linkin Park? Everyone i know who is/was interested in rock music owns Hybrid Theory, myself included. And it's one of the best albums to listen to if you're after nostalgic cheese. Goals to get my skills back up to a barely respectable level on the high scores: Currently going for Bone to Peaches spell. It's amazing how boring doing the same repetitive task is! I don't like Linkin Park, nor do I hate them. They're no different than the majority of bands out there, which you guys all love so much. They're rich and famous, meaning they must have gotten something right while in their million dollar studio. So basically, stop bashing them, as they are famous, and you aren't. Now write some music and sing to it, whoms will be better? I assure you all that they classify themsleves at pop-rap. But they arent really. It matters on the album. Reanimation was just remixes, but were rap, metoria was more... i guess rock. and i have yet to hear all of hybridtheory. The albums are more then just all kinds of recent songs thrown together. If you listen, the whole album follows the same theme and goes to the same rythem. I think LP is awsome. P.S. The new album isnt by the band. Unless the first one doesn't count in somehow. I got all 6. Well, only on my harddrive :P But I doubt many here have actually heard the first one. Not that it's that great, it's like an early version of later albums. But one of the songs I like best is not by themselves, but Mike Shinoda remixed it, Enjoy The Silence (by Depeche Mode originally I believe). Sure, Linkin Park are ok (I still get Hybrid Theory out every now and then when I'm driving), but there are some far better bands. Rage split up before linkin park even arrived on the scene, not to mention the fact that they were doing the whole 'rap metal' thing before linkin park were even old enough to shave. If it weren't for bands like rage against the machine, linkin park would never have existed. Nice one rage. Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time.
