Yeah. Any other possible ideas that seem possible prior to Badge #4?

If I cant get Magmar I'll deal with Growlithe.

Sudowoodo. A nice rock type to round off your team. It can also learn some fighting moves as well, so it is pretty useful at filling the gaps in your team.

Soul Silvah!

I remember playing silver on the bus while we all shared my one link cable to trade pokemon. I had a typhlosion at level 71 and everything else at around 20....then learned about the cloning glitch

Oh man I miss the days of glitches. Being able to glitch a Mew in Red, then trade it over to Silver and clone it to my heart's content was great.

I shall also get SS, because Lugia > [garden tool]-oh. And I had Silver originally.

I also had Silver originally, so that's why I will be purchasing Soul Silver.

50/50 now..

Heh, I actually do say, the reason I rather Silver over Gold is simply because Lugia is my favourite gameside legendary.

Graveler/Golem might be good too, and you can get one in that cave after the first gym. Instead of fighting you get ground though.

Gold for me though, always liked it more for some reason

Yeah; but I always had Graveler in my team - ALWAYS. I could get an Onix from the girl in Violet City? Boosted training doesnt sound bad? I really dislike Sudowudo, but I know it's decent ingame. I really want something unique.

And if I use Onix i'm not evolving it. :D

Deserves a second post.

With the Special/Physical split, Sudowoodo now OWNS

Fire, Ice, Electric punches!

I dont need a siggy no moar.

I didn't say Onix because I figured you would want it to evolve, a small problem if you have Scyther

Heh, well, Onix sucks and Steelix is not what I have in mind. I'll go with Sudowoodo, for uber coverage!

I dont need a siggy no moar.

The first pokemon I always caught was one of the lvl 5 geodudes in the grassy area at the bottom of the path from black thorn. It is so incredibly useful on the first gym because it destroys birds with rock throw. Then me and my brother are probably going to get a game each so we can both start with all 3 starters.

My team will probably look like this:

Feraligator

Typhlosion

Meganium

Golem/Sudowoodo (Tyranitar later)

Heracross

Lugia

Or something like that.

P.S. You get [garden tool]-oh and Lugia in both games just one later. I'd say the main thing if you don't have access to R/S/E is that Kyogre is in Heart Gold and Groudon in Soul Silver.

I might get both, but I'll definitely get Soul Silver. I don't know why I chose it, but I think I liked Silver best after playing them. I always caught a Hoothoot first, and then usually abandoned it for a better flying type before I could fly anyway

If the RNG manipulator is adjusted to work with HG / SS, I'll probably just use whatever until I reach the Lake of Rage. From there, I'll go for an Adamant 31/31/31/*/31/31 Gyarados from the preset encounter, EV it right away, and just solo the rest of the game with it. 8-)

Also, interesting fact some may be unaware of. In the original G/S/C generation, female Pokemon were usually inferior to male Pokemon, and Shiny Pokemon were usually inferior to normal Pokemon (including the preset Red Gyarados encounter). This is because it was made to be, to some degree, backwards compatible with the R/B/Y generation. However, there were no determinants for gender or shininess in R/B/Y, so they simply tied it to IVs.

This was changed 3rd generation, along with the changes in game mechanics, so this is thankfully no longer the case.

While we're on the topic of IVs, the legendary run-away confused animal things in FR / LG were glitched, and would always have several IVs set to 0 or something ridiculously low like that automatically.

HG / SS will likely be very, very different from the original G/S/C series.

I looked at some of the posts in this, and I realize now that I've been out of the loop. Haven't played since I was eleven or so. ._. At least I was pro back then.

So, basically Earthysun is Jesus's only son.

I haven't played that recently either but you should atleast know who/what Feraligatr is. I've tried all three of them at one point or another and Typhlosion has to be my favorite out of the three. Feraligatr is my second choice, I hate grass types for some reason. I will never have a grass type on my team. Maybe a good fire, lightening, water, rock, physic, etc but never any grass. They always seem to slow me down. I'll usually have two water types actually. One for battle, one to dump all my special moves on (surf, whirlpool, waterfall).

Is pokemon diamond worth buying for the wifi battling/trading?

If you spend the time to make a good team, it is worth it. But if you don't want to spend the time, you can use Shoddy for battling.

I don't know if this has been posted before or not, but I just saw a video on youtube about these games, and apparently they're coming with something called the Pokewalker. Its basically a pedometer, but you transfer one of your pokemon on to it, and it gets experience for every step you take. Kinda weird, huh? :|

You'll have the little kids whining because their pokemon won't obey them. Great idea to get kids to want to walk but they will have to program it to where it won't go over the level your gym badges will allow you to control. I mean it's not their problem but all the kids who play it will whine like crazy. "My level 45 ____ took a nap during my first gym battle".

What do you guys think of the pokewalker?

pokewalker.jpg

PokeWalker is a special walking meter that will be bundled with the two remakes. Different from the meter that Nintendo included with its Power Walker health software, the PokeWalker meter looks like a Pokeball and ties in closely with the two remakes.

The PokeWalker device interfaces with your DS via infrared. You can transfer over a single Pokemon, who then becomes visible on the device's screen.

As you walk around with the PokeWalker in hand, the internal Pokemon will gain experience. Its affection for you will also grow. The device converts your foot steps into "watts," which can be used to catch wild Pokemon and search for tools for sending back to the main Heart Gold/Soul Silver software.

It'll be interesting to see if it is easier to level your pokemon if you use it. I hate to think what happens if it dies while you have a pokemon transfered to it though. :?

Top of page 39. I think I'll add it to the first post.
