PoorLepRecon
:| Are you sure you can trade pokemon from say, Pearl or Diamond into SS/HG before the 2nd gym badge? You probably can't, but who knows. Oh and Chikorita is going to be my first pokemon. It is always a challenge to start with, since the first gym leader uses flying types. RayOxide
I never used Chikorita as a starter since I didnt like its look and the way you use it (Effects), I used the outright strong ones. I was like 6 when I played this though LOL. I picked up Shinygold and used Totodile though because I remember it from the Anime. I was going to use Chikorita in HG/SS but then I noticed Totodile would rape as Feraligatr since Waterfall is now physical. :\. I want Chikorita too though. Even though it can be taken over by Bellsprout early on I still rather Meganium over Victreebel. I dont need a siggy no moar.
PoorLepRecon
I really hope that they stay true to G/S/C and allow us to go back to Kanto and go through those gyms, with all of their pokemon really high leveled. Maybe they could include the Orange Islands as well, just for all of us who remember them from the anime. RayOxide
You should get one :XD: Hey, when HG/SS comes out what are you guys going to do prior to, say the 3rd badge? Usually I get my team. I get mine quickly and just swap certain ones out later in-game. I THINK mine will be like this: Totodile Geodude Bellsprout Ghastly Then, I get a Magmar if there is one (~3rd badge) Last slot = random pokemon :D I dont need a siggy no moar. You'll use it too much to not have one. For me, I'll be looking for a Mareep. Electric types are very useful. I don't know what else. I'll grab it when I see it in the wild and work from there. RayOxide
I stray from Pidgey. I rather Zubat (CROBAT FTFW) I never usually pick up Mareep for whatever reason - I like Ampharos but I seriously have never caught a Mareep and went "hey! I'm going to train this" I dont need a siggy no moar.
Alg
If I'm not mistaken Zubat's line doesn't get fly until Crobat though And Mareep sucks to train, I think  I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr

I don't care how hard it is to train. I want it. :D I'll probably include the Togepi that you get after the first gym. A togekiss would be useful. Togekiss wont come along until like way after the elite 4.. Crobat gets fly yes, maybe Golbat but I dont think so. But it doesnt take THAT long. I mean you get wing attack at like 16 or something so that makes it easy for the bug gym leader Bugsy and to train in the forest. I dont need a siggy no moar. The Runar
I remember playing Crystal with just Typhlosion, I had no idea about Exp. Share or anything back then... If I remember right I had Typhlosion at level 76 and other Pokés at level 5-20 :P The Runar's (OSRS) DIY blog - most viewed Blogscape blog ever! RayOxide
My mate who is 3 years younger than me used to do that same thing, he had like a level 20 Staravia and a level 40 Infernape and the rest of his Pokemon were not even 20. I made him either start again or lrn2play. \ I dont need a siggy no moar.

Hobgoblinpie
Anyone use AR? I don't, and don't intend to in the future. I always train one pokemon much higher than the others, and use 1-2 as HM slaves. However, I may train pokemon equally for the remakes. POH Agility Course, Please Support! Hobgoblinpie
In Gold, getting a dragonite before the Elite 4 and teaching it at least Wing Attack and Ice Punch would pretty much get you through the rest of the game. RayOxide
I'd only use AR for TM's if I really wanted to but I dont want to >_> but I dont plan on it.. In Gold, getting a dragonite before the Elite 4 and teaching it at least Wing Attack and Ice Punch would pretty much get you through the rest of the game. Meh, I rather UU teams, makes the game so much more challenging and fun. I dont need a siggy no moar.
nerdboyxxx
This game just looks so freaking awesome. I'm so gonna buy both and buy another DS so I can get all the pokemaaans :D I have the original crystal, and I owned a copy of Gold and Silver (Silver crapped out on me and I sold my Gold for about $70) :wall: well I can't wait for these games. So many fond memories of the Crystal/Gold/Silver series, they're my fav. Praying they do a good job remaking them like they did with Fire Red/Leaf Green.
