Scizor makes alakazam pretty pointless.

 

Rotom-H is probably the best, but if you scarf any of them, beware of Tyranitar and Scizor, who can both OHKO with pursuit.

I have a specs Jolteon on my team and it's good although sometimes hard to switch in. It has under rated special defense though (base 95) so it's a good option if you can predict a thunderbolt or steel move.

 

While we're talking about Dragonite: I have a novelty Dragonite that I might change the EV's for. Do the EV's for the cleric nite really make it that bulky? Right now my Dragonite's role is basically to switch in to something I can take (something like an EQ aimed at Jolteon), substitute on the switch, and from there I can either:

 

A. Roost of the damage and switch if it's something I can't take.

B. Focus Punch for (hopefully) a kill (Extreme Speed if that doesn't work out and it's almost dead).

C. Extreme Speed for the kill.

 

And later game I use it as a revenge killer/back up wall. Right now it has max speed max attack EV's, so how should I change the EV's?

With ClericNite's EVs, no un-STAB'd or un-boosted Ice Beam can 2HKO, which is a major plus. This means that since no ice beam can 2HKO, you are free to set up.

The thing is, my Dragonite is meant to kill the walls that think they can come in on a draco meteor (Blissey, Snorlax, Scizor, and maybe some others). It isn't meant to set up a sweep, although that does sound nice, the ice beams would still break a sub (unless I was slower, but would still then take ~40% I'm guessing).

 

Maybe I just need to figure out exactly what I want it to do and what I want it to counter, because Skarmory only takes about 30% from a focus punch, and other physical walls probably take my Dragonite well too.

What kind of starters do you think Black and White are going to have? I'm thinking the fire starter is going to be based on a fire ant and will become a Fire/Bug type. The water starter could be based on a swan and become a Water/Flying type. The grass starter I'm stumped (Pun not intended until I realised it was a pun) on.

 

I'm also hoping that Gen V will have some of the useless pokemon (Stantler, Girafirig, Mawile, Delibird) evolve and have them become pokemon worthy of being caught.

Wouldn't that be a little unbalanced with Dark being immune to Psychic? A cool idea nonetheless but what about Ice-Ground-Steel?

Steel is super effective against Ice, Ice is super effective against Ground, and Ground is super effective against Steel. But yes, it would be sort of favoured for steel types as ice doesn't resist ground and ground doesn't resist steel. Dunno, we'll see what they decide to do I guess. I wouldn't mind if they started changing the starter types, as I personally consider grass to be an obsolete type, with water and fire having their own advantages.

I can't use pure Grass types. Their weaknesses outweigh their strengths by a lot.

I think that changing the starter triangle would be too disruptive. Those Pokemon folks tend to be pretty nostalgic people (notice how the stats of a pokemon have NEVER changed from generation to generation, while many moves have).

 

Plus, DPPt unbalanced it enough.

Yeah, too many people are "HURR SHOULD'VE STOPPED AT 151 DURR".

 

So back to my original question: What do you think the new starters on going to be based on? I'm sticking with my fire ant and swan idea. Also a new pokemon is being announce this sunday. "Pokemon x x". It better be good and not a Riolu/Lucario copy!

Tried this GTS for the first time two days ago and found myself a Graveler which became a Golem.

It was shiny aswell :)

 

And I've finally beaten the Elite Four. Now to get myself a real team.
