The return of Muffin Maddy

Recommended Posts

It's a heart problem, sila, and general muscle aches.

And yea, I'm still ill.

Thanks <3:

Aww, is it an inherited heart problem or like a hole in the heart (my uncle couldn't join the army cus he had a hole, i dunno why he'd wanna join anyway O_o)

Everyone in my family has super high cholestrol (even though we're all pretty slim, not overweight or anything and eat healthily), we pretty much all die of heart attacks when we're 50 O_o

I hope you get better soon : )

No, flodder.

Not all the chambers.

Wouldn't that kill me?

No, they're all quite close together.

One is medium ish and the other two are small.

you got this?

[hide=]What Are Holes in the Heart?

A hole in the heart (also called an atrial septal defect (ASD) or ventricular septal defect (VSD)) is a type of simple congenital (kon-JEN-i-tal) heart defect. This is a problem with the heart's structure that's present at birth. Congenital heart defects change the normal flow of blood through the heart.

Your heart has two sides, separated by an inner wall called the septum. With each heartbeat, the right side of the heart receives oxygen-poor blood from the body and pumps it to the lungs. The left side of the heart receives oxygen-rich blood from the lungs and pumps it to the body. The septum prevents mixing of blood between the two sides of the heart.

Some babies are born with a hole in the upper or lower septum. A hole in the septum between the heart's upper two chambers (the atria, pronounced AY-tree-uh) is an ASD. A hole in the septum between the heart's lower two chambers (the ventricles, pronounced VEN-trih-kuls) is a VSD.

A hole in the septum can allow blood to pass from the left side of the heart to the right side. This means that oxygen-rich blood can mix with oxygen-poor blood, causing the oxygen-rich blood to be pumped to the lungs a second time.

Over the past few decades, the diagnosis and treatment of ASDs and VSDs have greatly improved. As a result, a child with a simple heart defect can grow to adulthood and live a normal, active, and productive life because his or her heart defect closes on its own or has been repaired.[/hide]

3 holes in heart? Ouch.

I remember when my brother had a little heart infection for some time. Heart missed a beat few times where it should beat. But it cured out.

That's sad. Very sad.

You getting to any operations or anything soon or have you been to? I remember Leik had a heart surgery a couple months ago. Also a problem which she had from birth.

Probably.

They suggested a heart transplant, but it's not completely necessary right now.

That idea scares me tbh because thats a really dangerous surgery AND I've already had a

surgery and i cba to go through the same experience again.

Anaesthetic. Recovery etc.

Err...i've heard that a heart transplant oly lasts about 20 years on average, then its rejected/died off

btw,how can someone survive a heart transplane if the heart's outside of the body?

Sorry to butt in on the conversation : P

but we we're doing this in biology last year, and before they take the heart out they connect the necessary arterires / veins to a machine

this machine then does the hearts job, pumping blood around the body in the correct way

it's basically an artificial heart while a new one is put in

but the machine can not be used instead of another heart because they are really large, which is necessary to pump all that blood around the body O_o, the hearts a miraculous thing

Anyway hope you get better soon :D

20 years isn't too bad...

I could get the transplant when I'm 80 then live till 100

If it would happen so, then I would get a heart transplant now, wait till it is 19 years old, then change it, and like that on til forever! :twss:

Its an english game where a group of nubs (2 teams) throw a ball around...

1 person from each team stands on either bench...

The aim of the game is to get your whole team onto the bench...

Fond memories when it gets violent <3: I prefer run the risk better...
