Teeg
OK. "Why are people so negative about riots?" - Riots in RS never work. Nobody voted for Jagex to be in control. As such, Jagex are not worried about losing the next election if they do not please a vociferous minority. You have two choices 1. Carry on playing RS 2. Protest by removing your subscription. If enough people adopt choice 2, Jagex will care, although I can't see that happening. Most of the so-called "rioters" go back to the game after their 5 minutes of spamming. Very few have the courage of their convictions and leave, which is a shame as we could have a bit of peace and quiet. So, "rioters", have the guts to put your money where your mouth is, leave and never darken these doorsteps again; or else play the game and realise that Jagex own, run and control every part of RS. Hope this helps Teeg
Trollface
Imo, pures deserved to have the wilderness taken away from them. Most of them are arrogant, rude teenagers who will do anything to get a kill. Even with the wilderness gone, some pures continue to harass players for no good reason. At aviansies today, several level 70 pures attacked the aviansie(s) I was attacking constantly. If the wilderness was allowed to stay, RWT would continue, and RS would be 6 feet under. Last summer, some credit card payments to Jagex were interrupted because of RWT. If RS still had wildy, I'd say RWT would be gone....because RS would be dead too. Hilramorre
I haven't read through the responses, since I don't have the time, so if this was already posted, I apologize. I will keep this brief. You come across as a little kid who doesn't understand how the world works, or the technicalities of decisions. First of all, you talk about "players rights", "online freedom of speech", "freedom of merchanting and trading". None of those things you have. Jagex owns runescape, they reserve all the rights (and if you read through the EULA you would know that). They own your very character and could delete him at any moment and you would have no legal merit to dispute it in court. There is also no such thing as "online freedom of speech" in Runescape, they own Runescape and pay for the servers on which it is run and so they dictate what is allowed on it. If you want to have "online freedom of speech" then buy your own server and run it. Oh and don't even get me starting on "freedom of merchanting", god only knows where you got that idea from. I don't hate Jagex either, if I did then why would I play. Why would I pay members? If I hate a company, I'm not going to give them my money. Jagex has made one of the best MMORPGs in my opinion, not just best f2p MMORPG, but one of the best MMORPGs out there and I've played more than my fair share. If you want Jagex to get the point, then rioting is pointless. Do you really think they will even see it? They're busy working on the game, it'll only appear to them as a busy world until they start getting abuse reports and that kind of negative attention your cause does not need. If you want Jagex to hear your opinion, then send them an e-mail, get all your friends together to send e-mails. Don't spam them though, just one each. Explain why you believe it should not have been done. But keep in mind why it was done, to get rid of RWT which would have ruined the game in a very short period of time. Rioting is just what immature kids do because they think it will get them attention. All it actually does is make them seem stupid. Just as how your inability to distinguish a protest (I quote you: "They even stand in the streets shouting out.") from a riot, has made you seem stupid. Zox
Just to show you how stupid most people that attend those riots really are, go to Bounty Hunter on any world that Jagex selected and type in "@". Just one time. See what happens.. >.> Just because you might hate Jagex, that doesn't mean that everyone does. You just assume that because they removed a few parts of the game that everyone hates them and wants them dead or something. Jagex removed some parts of Runescape for us, not because they hate their own players. "Stupid idiots, lets get them pissed and remove stuff!". No. Riots will never do much, but boycotting probably would. Lets say 50% of paying members would stick to F2P until Jagex added the old version of the wilderness back into the game, then the players who riot might actually get what they want, but since they're so greedy and like being a member that will never happen. Boycotting wouldn't solve the underlying issue of credit card fraud which is supposedly why the old version of the wilderness was taken out in the first place, so I don't see how it could bring the old wilderness back. Dont hate the pures when they take over your training spot. Btw they didnt take wilderness off just cos of the RWT, they made post on it on their forums about how all games are moving none loot pvp and stuff. Also they dont like their Young players to lose their items. Ranged 101/99, Str 105/99, Att 105/99, Hp 106/99, Def 100/70, Magic 102/
Torlen
Im going to have to say that I like Jagex and I respect them for going out on a limb with those updates. It had to have been hard knowing that they were angering a somewhat large percentage of their members, but they knew what had to be done to stop Runescape from becoming another game filled with cheaters like Diablo 2. The changes happened more than 6 months ago, with various things implemented to *try* and fix some things they knew needed to be removed even though popular opinion would not have agreed. Honestly, I think its time to get over it. Things change. You will change. Its part of life. You have to learn to deal with it or you get left behind. Hellisforheroes
"Why are people so negative about riots?" I don't know where to begin.....ok how about this Are you blinking mental? Riots in there very nature are design to disrupt, intimidate, threaten, abuse and damage something, and almost always spill over and create collateral damage. Dictionary Definition: Riot: 1. a noisy, violent public disorder caused by a group or crowd of persons, as by a crowd protesting against another group, a government policy, etc., in the streets. ^- Note the NOISY and VIOLENT sections. What you are looking for is a "Demonstration", THAT I would have no problem with
magician_xy
I love Jagex. I don't see why anyone could not love them. So they took away the better part of the wildy. But they didn't just take away the wildy; they gave something else in return. Bounty Hunter, the GE, and a month later, Summoning. So they're not the same. Big deal; they're still fun. Also, you know why you people keep telling rioters to put a sock in it? It's because they know these changes helped the game overall. They are too busy enjoying themselves to go rioting. I'm 100% free-to-play!!! Message me, private chat is always on. :)
