Tif events

Featured Replies

I want to make a new tif events thing...

this would be for any events not related to runescape.

so this could be a subforum to videogames and consoles.

lets say someone wants a tourny on halo or some other game. where r they going to post it to get ppl to join. if they do it on the halo thread chances r high that it wont work.

I don't think we need to create an entire new Tip.it Events Team for that. If you want to hold a tournament on Halo, I'm sure you could post in the Halo thread in Video Games & Consoles.

The reason why the Tip.it Events Team is successful is because most of our users probably play RuneScape, given that this is a RuneScape fansite. So of course you're going to have a larger crowd with a RuneScape event than with an event in another game.

There were a group called the Off-Topic Event Team, but was disbanded if I remember due to lack of activity from the board users. We are staying with just TET right now.

A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.

Without knowing this for sure, I think he means forum dedicated to non RS events, not a Tip.It team dedicated to it. :)

You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?

I thought he wanted a whole new team in addition to a new forum :ohnoes:

Either way I don't really think it's necessary.

Baby steps, hun... Baby steps.

I think it might be best to wait until the topic poster comes back to properly explain what they meant.

If you wanted a tourny on Halo, or any other online game through an Xbox, PS3, or whatever console you have, go to that specific oriented forum on the internet, Tip.It is for RuneScape, not to branch out into Video Games. I don't know, but there's plenty of gaming forums out there specifically made for this...

Off-Topic doesn't have enough users who play the variety of games to keep such a thing going... :x

im not saying tip should make forums for other games other than runescape. I just want a place in the off topic section where ppl can organize other games. that is all.

Well if the tournament/game/etc. is serious enough, I see no reason why you can't create your own thread in Video Games & Consoles. That's where fellow gamers will be looking anyway.

  • 1 month later...

Tip.It is for RuneScape, not other un-associated video games. If you were interest in hosting a tournament like this, you would have more chances if you posted on an official game forums for your corresponding game.

Yeah, because creating new usergroups is so scary... :P (Having done that myself, I know what you mean. It's a pain in the neck.)

I wouldn't mind a resurrection of OTET, in fact I'd love it.

Hey wait, I already posted here. Oh well. It bears repeating.

If I recall correctly the off-topic events team was revived with the Drawball thread by Lionheart. After the rollback the thread was recreated with a different title, so that's why it looks like the off-topic events team doesn't exist right now.

And as it's been said before, there's already a forum appropriate for this (Video games & consoles). ::'

And which forum were you using at that time? It's nowhere 'pain in the neck' lol. Click, click, click, enter click done >_>

As to your actual suggestion, it doesn't seem necessary.

Something I think we should look at running organized COD4, Brawl, etc. tournaments. You don't need a event team for this. We have official clan tournaments and it's usually run just by one person and officiated by the clan mods.

Bring back the OTET

I'm not sure what the OP is meaning but whilst we are on the the otet topic...

The plan for the otet was to include non-forum events (like other games & stuff) It was a way to try and generate ideas really.

We got a few decent topics out of it at the time. Just needs quite a few people who are willing to put in some effort. And I'm sure the staff would be able to find the threads from the old otet forum if they really wanted. ;)

But yeah it died out before because lack of activity on our part I think.

When you have people in multiple usergroups I have seen permission masks conflict, using PHPBB3.

Note to admins: Please increase the allowed nested quote count to 5 or something. Pre-rollback it was 30 and we did just fine.
