Chained_life
I've been called a "loser" "no life" "noob" "pathetic player" today, all kinds of combos and by different people. Why? Because I don't . Sit in one place for hours upon hours alching . Stand at yaks hitting the same thing over and over again . Sit at fire giants, for hours upon hours . have the patience to sit at pest control for hours upon hours to get full void . Waste my time training one skill while leaving the others skills at one. I'm sure you get my point. I mainly play this game for fun, most of my EXP in mage (besides maybe 500+ alches from alching stuff from slayer tasks) has come from Dagannoth kings, barrows or just fire bolting away. Most of my range exp has been done at aviansies (for more money, for more fun) Blue dragons (for more prayer and money, for more fun) Most of my combat EXP has been gained from slayer, simply because I find slayer (at times) an enjoyable skill. Yet I always get this: Random person: STR level? Me: *number here* Random person: Lol, my level 60 has Your level, noob. Why are combat skills so important to people, why is having 60 def\80 str\70 still popular? I mean, it's not like the old pking edgeville days. Why am I called a "noob" by someone with 400 less total levels? Am I the pathetic one for not alching thousands of yew longs? I'm pathetic because I gain my magic exp the way I find fun? I know you can say "well just put them on your ignore list" No, I'm tired of this crappy (in general not TIF) community.
Madmanpur3
Unless you can find a way to implant brain cells into those players who are calling you various things with little to know logic behind them, all you can do is ignore them or try and talk to them which 99% of the time will just lead to more name calling. upthebanner
I have to agree. I always find it amusing when I see people trying (and usually failing) to get a 99 mage level for example. They throw loads of money at it and then....... They try to raise smithing and have thousands of mith and addy plates to high alch but no longer need the xp in mage so waste even more money. I have crafting 73 as my lowest skill and am often asked why I do not raise this. The only way I can do this would be to buy stuff and lose money. However I still get gems and need smithing xp so see no point in power training it until I no longer get "free" xp from cutting my own gems and smithing my own ore. All my stats are in the 90s (f2p) bar prayer and runecrafting and find it a lot more fun training all skills relatively evenly.
Bloodkay
Don't worry man. We all run into players like this, and it's perfectly normal. I mean, what kind of game doesn't have people calling you a noob for not being their level? Just feel good that you don't sink to their level to other players :D Taking a Playstation 3 break. palas1
People have been idiots and will remain as that. And I think you're pushing it too hard, in last 3 months I don't remember being called noob, no lifer or anything like that. (except in f2p where even random people just call me a noob or proclaim that i'm stupid from no reason at all)
Rock Hard
One of these days Microsoft is going to release that 'slapping someone in the face through their monitor' service patch; making a lot of internet users very happy, and a lot of internet users very slapped. Rock Hard
Hey, it's simple conditioning! If a person learns that Jerk = Slap, he'll feel less inclined to be a jerk! Also fixes the problem, the internet's anonymity, rather than ignoring the symptoms. ;) 'Rock Hard' boss pure - 60/60 Attack | 99/99 Range | 1/1 Defence | 44/44 Prayer | 99/99 Strength | 99/99 Mage - level 79 combat EOC ## '07 Server ## "Best Runescape update ever: Removing 6 years of updates." Roseiah
I'm afraid you are going to just have to ignore people who think you play the game "wrong". At the end of the day Runescape is a game, and people have their own ways of playing it. Some people like training a skill for hours on end. Each player will have their way to play Runescape, and the majority of players will be respectful of that. But there is a minority and yes they are a minority who will take the mick out of you for playing Runescape your way. You just have to ignore them, get on and enjoy the game. Tim
exactly, we all have ways to play the game. i ONLY level skills if i enjoy it at the time or method. at the moment blue drag is doing me well for range xp and money. its your desision how you level just dont play for 20hrs a day to obtain a 99 for a cape. then i "may" have to slap you for health reasons. : Popoto.~<

OwnagePie
Well if you're found stuck at a situation like that, then just lie to them, or better yet, just ignore them from the start, so nothing gets out of hand. Like today, I was being called a weak noob for trying out flesh crawler seeing if they will stay aggressive towards me for some good effective training, and the guy started flaming on me for not training at lessers, even though I nicely explained to him why I haven't gona there. Then one thing led to another until he finally shut up. :x What's a sig?
