outcome was he got :-#

 

 

 

well i wonder if it realli infringe rule 1

I got 24hr mute from doing that in FoG. If people find it offensive, ignore/turn chat off. It is considered rulebreaking because it "prevents others from enjoying the game to its full extent"

Its not offensive its spam. Rule 1 includes the rule of spam

Yes spam gets you in trouble because you are flooding the chat, making it harder for others to communicate. The only blackmark I got was from spamming over two years ago but I deserved it and learned my lesson. Hopefully your friend will be the same way.

Depends on how many times he did it, if he kept on spamming and spamming it, then its considered as flooding the chat, A.K.A. spamming that does go under rule 1.

Yea it's not offensive, but it is SPAM. If you're trying to buy something at the G.E. and the mob of angry old wild pkers come in spamming @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@, you'll see why it's reportable - because your message disappears faster than you can say *wtf stop spamming*.

It's spam and it's annoying, and you can get muted for spam.

If it was one line thats realy not spam but if it was over 3 yes it is. I asked a mod bout this and thats what she counted as spam but idk bout Jagex. He got muted all he can do is wait it out since he did actually spam. Might wanna send in an appeal anyway saying you'll never do it again.

Depends. From the way he phrased it, I think he's trying to pull a discussion out of this, albeit a weak one.

 

 

 

It's not an offense if you only do it once as others have said but if you do it multiple times (3+), then it can be reportable under Rule 1: Offensive Language.

I believe Jagex calls 5+ lines of Spam offensive language, as the cutoff point.

 

 

 

Oddly enough, my friend was jokingly imitating a spambot today, and was banned.

Jagex says that spam isn't aloud so yeah, they have every right to mute for that. Even if it's one line it is still spam.
