cho0ber
Basically my brother and I have a business where we use a 10mbit up and down fiber connection for 12 hours of the day (its a voip based service for businesses). The other twelve hours ( during the night) the internet does absolutely nothing. What I'm trying to find is a way to make my internet productive during the night. Not like business is bad. But we pay over 1000$ a month for internet and only use it 25 days a month from 9 am to 9 pm. Does anyone have any ideas how to make a little extra cash exploiting my unused bandwidth? I am moderately tech savvy and I'm not lookin to get rich but if it is relatively simple and can make an extra 200 bucks a month toward the net bill im open to the suggestion. BTW We have 3 linux servers that arent used at night as well if its some kind of hosting opportunity. Thanks.
urbestfreind
It depends on what your business is...if you're selling something, maybe set up a site so people can check out what you have, and make orders (you can just have them fill out a form and it gets sent to you by e-mail or something like that, so you can do business at night too)...Figured I'd throw something out there until the experts come on and give ideas that I would never have thought of to bring you in more money, and/or prove me wrong. JoeDaStudd
Nightly hosting would be a bad idea as most people (if not all) will want there site to be accessible 24/7 or as close to 24/7 as possible. I very much doubt many people would pay much (if anything) for a 12 hour a day host. cho0ber
find of those companies that pay you to click ads and fill out surveys, and use a bot to do them over night Not a bad idea but is it a big deal to maintain? I know with captchas and all that the site are specifically trying to weed out the people with bots im just wondering if it is worth the time for setting up and maintaining the bots. One of the stupidest ideas you could ever even consider. Putting your business into the crosshairs for potential fraud lawsuits over gaming the ad or survey system will do more damage than you would have earned over the ads. das
It fails to reason why anyone would want anything less than a full Time host. "Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable - a most sacred right - a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world."Abraham Lincoln
sloter
You would have to host a server and that cost money because you need bandwidth for downloads.
Mil
You would have to host a server and that cost money because you need bandwidth for downloads. He has both. You could just find another international company (if its possible in your business) that would need the service in the other 12 hours?
