jackalope14
Ouiji boards make me laugh   Please keep those comments to your self. I don't think I care if they make you laugh... what im saying by "they make me laugh" is that they dont acually work and some people acually make decisions upon them. Its acually sad really, that people make decisions based on the board
Godslayer
Oh yea I played with one. Now that I am almost 18, 3 years ago during halloween. My friends and I said lets go trick or treating so what we did we went trick or treating. So we go out and after the towns little halloween thing where you get free doughnuts and hot coco. My friends and I went back to his place. He got something, heck I had no idea what that was, so what we did we went into some old old woods on the back wagon end of nowhere. Now we didnt just play with it we took it a step further. He also took 5 candles lighter. Well we found a stump, we put the board down. He took a stick and drew a upside down pentagram, put each candle at each point. Then lit the candles. Well ironically there was 5 of us. I sat at one of the arms with the guy that brought the stuff with him at the head. And what did we do tried to contact the "devil". We asked if we could talk to lucifer. And we asked everal questions. Now I know when ever you press something/ push something under your fingernails the change color due to pressure. Well i was looking at all the fingers and I didnt see any diffrent in any diffrent coloration, and after talking to the "devil" the little thing kept going 666 666 666. after we seen that we packed stuff up and left. I dont now what it 'maybe' it was one of my friends but I dont know. All I can say is that it was a thrill rush. Halloween night, back wagon end of nowhere, pentagrams fun. Now for those going to say I am a lier lier with pants constantly on fire, no I dont lie. Lieing is for grabastic pieces of amphibian cabbage. I would so fracking wig out after the 666 thing...

Demeige
me and my friends bought one form like Hasbro or some toy company but unfortunately it just gave really general answers like yes, no, or a number. If we asked it any "advanced" questions the answers didn't match up. How does a profession differ from an occupation?
Bubsa
Ouji boards. Pah. Never work for me. OK, perhaps it's because we all enter with sceptic minds and mess around anyway. Funny enough though, I feel more in touch with nature/the dead in nature itself. What I mean is...well, you know the bit in the Lion King when Simba, Timone and Pumba are talking about stars? Well it's kinda like that. No, I don't think stars are God's of the past etc. Astronomy > Astrology. But, if I'm alone in nature, lying on a grassy hill, the stars out beaming brightly, I'll wish on a couple. Then I'll ask out loud something, or speak to someone who's passed away who I knew and loved. I'll always get an answer. Maybe it's their memory of me inside me telling it. Maybe it's their spirit. I don't know, but it's always comforting. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

sprites
if they are for real why wont they work with just 1 person? I really don't know why you need a group. There are some people who claim it works by yourself, but be careful. It is considered bad luck to use the board by yourself. For those who say it isn't real. Ouiji, and many other occult things rely on the will of the individual or group. If you don't believe in contacting spirits, then nothing is going to happen (or at least not in the way you expected).. Anesthesia
Then they started asking "when will I die", and I told them to burn the board if they're going to ask questions like that. Yeah burn it, rather than just stop asking questions like that. It must be BURNT! Otherwise it wouldn't be dramatic/occult enough. I also find it funny how the 'spirits' always speak the language of the people playing. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be. Mercifull
They are all bogus. The Ouija board was first introduced to the American public in 1890 as a parlor game sold in novelty shops. The board DID NOT originate with swamis, emanate from the mysterious East, or anything like that. It was invented and marketed by American businessmen hoping to make a buck.* The movement of the planchette/glass/whatever object which is to move is not due to other worldly forces but instead due to unnoticeable movements by the people controlling the pointer. This is called the ideomotor effect. The effect is extremely powerful and many subjects cannot be convinced that their actions are originating solely in their own minds. The term was first used by William Carpenter around 1852 to explain his theory that muscular movement can be independent of conscious desires or emotions. Later scientific tests planned and conducted by William James, Michel Chevreul, Ray Hyman and Michael Faraday have all shown that some phenomena attributed to paranormal forces are actually due to the ideomotor effect The basic point is that your muscles, and therfore hands, fingers etc, can move without you consciously thinking about it. Suggestions can be made to the mind by others or by observations. Those "ghostly" suggestions can influence the mind and affect motor behavior. What is purely physiological, however, appears to some to be paranormal. In other words, if you believe this stuff and are trying to get the spirits to answer questions proving that they are all-knowing, and you ask a question that you already know the answer to (for example, "What's my father's name?"), odds are that your own hands will do the rest by spelling out your answer. That's where trying it blindfolded comes in (provided you haven't memorized the board, obviously). If it's spirits, they should be able to guide your hands no matter whether you can see or not. But if it's you doing it unconsciously, the blindfold will screw things up. Of course, this assumes you're the one operating the pointer. If a medium is doing it instead, there's always the possibility that s/he is simply faking it as part of the show. The point is, the Ouija board is easily explainable. Whether people will ever accept that I don't know* Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape" Jagex 01/04/01 - 02/03/
weezcake
This game is made by the people who brought you Monopoly. I seriously doubt there are any spirits involved. There was once a Quija board in this cabin that we rented in Lake Tahoe. Tried it with my cousins. Nothing. ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.
