Toy Horse Guy and Holiday Items

Featured Replies

What jagex should do is announce to the public that in like 1 week or 1 month (or watever time) all holiday drops will become untradable. That will give people a chance to buy what they want and then no1 will ever waste money on these worthless items again. But, if som1 brought it into the wild, and they died with it, and lost it, the other player would get a rare. That would also give new players a chance to get them if they trained enuf. Also, this would make player train skills to earn cash so the RS economy wouldn't be lazy.

Just my 2 cents

But what about the people currently working hard on raising cash for one, but couldn't get the cash in time? Also can you imagine how much prices would go up?? And if you had a rare, would YOU take it into the wilderness??

then all the people who bought them would be ripped out of up to like 20 mil....

What about freezing the current prices and Diango sell them for that much and he buys them for the same ammount. That way theres no inflation and no selling for cheaper then they should.

i think they should leave it as it is. party hats and masks add something else to runescape - items you can invest in.

you think antique dealers are idiots because they buy a chair for a grand?

- people like rares as status symbols

- the high prices gives people something to aim for

- once you can afford rare items of course you're going to try merchant when you can make so much

- making them worthless will annoy good players to the point of not playing

so why change it?

But these 1-day-on-a-year-holiday hats doesn't increase or decrease anything, why does anybody wants that?

Its a status thing.

What they should do is give everyone like 2+ months to sell off the Masks and PHats and everything else and then make them all untradeable. If you lose one due to PKing, it's gone forever. Then, after like at least 6 months, Diango can start selling them. But, not for 100gp. It would have to be AT LEAST a couple hundred thousand. Maybe 200k so then people would still have to work a little bit.

I'm sorry to be harsh, but that's the way the cookie crumbles :) Anyone saving up for a phat realizes that it has no actual usefulness in playing RS. If you have 100 whips in the bank and JAGeX gets rid of them, that's another story.

They could take the millions they had been saving up and buy herbs, ores, bars, runes, armor, weapons, food....

Personaly i could care less about these things, i rarly see them being sold or bought.

I like the idea of giving a month or two notice... but a slight problem evolves.

It is known then that they will be untradable, so merchants then sell them off quickly to get money, but since people need them all of a sudden, they will be in high demand, to high, and the price will need to be raised. so instead you will creat a short term problem, increas.

I say make them intradable right away.

my idea would be to make the holiday items an very rare level 3 treasure trail reward. This way at first the prices will not change much since they are rare, but will gradually fall like every other trail item has.

Also, people might get scared of dropping price and sell theirs right away, maybe flooding the market and maybe lowering prices.

Do you know Toy Horse guy at Draynor Village who sale toy horses and spinning wheels?

I really think Jagex *SHOULD* add all party hats, halloweens, santa hats and other holiday items on Toy horse guy's sale. No I don't jealous because I don't have any holiday items but it's already ruining on Runescape money. For example, red partyhat was around 8 millions last Autumn 2004. Guess what? It's over 22 millions gp now. All three halloweens are over 1 million each now. Also santa hats are over 1 million. It's stupidest and I blame almost every merchant people for ruining this Runescape money.

If all holiday items on Toy Horse guy's sale and it would improve on Runescape money (of course there would always complain and never stop complain. It's just life). That's my dream and I really hope it would become true. Any thought?.

BTW! Please don't flaming on this topic. If you do flaming and you ruining this topic. Thank anyway.

no! what jagex should do is make the guy stop selling toy horses. then we'd have another rare item.

yea, make diango sell them. i want one of this because they looks good and i think diango could sell them for 500 gp maybe, but only a few in stock at a time...

Don't worry. Toy Horse guy would still have toy horses and spinning wheels if add holiday items into his sales. I only said holiday items and it's not means disc returning, half wines and other rare items are also include.

I agree, more rares in the game would be great, especially ones that everyone has a chance for. I think jagex should secretly take away and add items from his stall, so that there are more rares and everyone has a fair chance at getting them. there would be a fairly small stock and reswpan tho, so 1 person couldnt buy a couple hundred

This would destroy the economy even more. Possibly the worst idea ive ever seen posted here, and thats saying something.

Proof but it's no perfect value and it might almost right.

Purple Party Hat : 19.5 mill - 22 mill

Yellow Party Hat : 23 mill - 25.5 mill

Green Party Hat : 23 mill - 26 mill

Red Party Hat : 28 mill - 31 mill

White Party Hat : 37 mill - 42 mill

Blue Party Hat : 57 mill - 62 mill

Green Halloween Mask : 3.8 mill - 4.5 mill

Blue Halloween Mask : 5.5 mill - 6.5 mill

Red Halloween Mask : 7.5 mill - 9 mill

Christmas Cracker : 50 mill - 60 mill

Santa Hat : 3.3 mill - 4 mill

Pumpkin : 3 mill - 8 mill

Easter Egg : 2 mill - 3 mill

Yes Blue Party Hat STILL raise price since it was around 15 - 20m in last autumn and it's nothing but wear... *faint* It's worstest so far. That's why I made this topic. Do you want to see every phats worth 1 billion in next year? Of course you want but rich become richest and poor stay poor. Think about it. Jagex need work holiday items to avoid crash economy. The holiday items and slayer already ruining economy but holiday items are worst. It's not worstest idea ever like herblore become f2p skill in another topic.

i would really like him to sell all the non tradeable holiday items for like 100k cause i want bunny ears but i didnt play then

The real problem is inflation. The prices are flying so blindly that its making an enormous gap between people who are psycho merchants, and people who work hard, but just get messed up when these merchants take advantage of them.

Id support this, because it would kill those merchants. Even if those PHats sold for 5M each, it would serve to topple the RS economy and return it to a society that working for your money is the best way to do things.

Problem? Theres a problem here? I don't see a problem. Prices are that high because people are willing to pay that. It's that way with any item. If the resources (ppls cash) meet the scarcity (amount of rares) then prices will continue to go up. If theres noone with that much cash then they wont. I was personally pssd that jagex made the more recent rares untradable as were most people at the time. Most people lost interest in those because they werent worth anything and any kid who wasnt there at the time cant ever have one. How fair is that? Most of you ppl are just upset because you dont have one but at least you could get one if you found a way to make more money :!:

I know that wasn't directed at me specifically, but if someone accuses me again of wanting a rare but not being able to afford it, I think I'll lose it.

If I had any rares, trust me, I'd alch those turkeys faster than you can say Ceril Carnillean.

I bet you don't read all first post on this topic. Lots of people are upset because merchant people become richest and still counting because of holiday items have rapid glow value. It's almost nothing but wear. Also it's unfair for people who have hardest work to make money like chopping on magic trees for 30 days or less to buy Dragon chain. Some merchant people do only sit and wait for a few days for almost do nothing then... bang! 10 millions add value to make 50 millions gp or whatever. Think about it.

BTW. You need carefully before make topic or it become flaming.

Of course it's the 1 gp I want! I loooove to accrue capital 1 gp at a time, it makes the game more fun. The "eliminating a rare from Runescape forever" is just a curious little side effect :)

lpinkus

To be honest, I don't think the economy of rares is going to get changed anytime soon-- it's just too firmly entrenched; too many people want them to have the value they do. Although I thought it was an interesting idea to make them a very rare treasure trail reward.

Unfortunately I missed the Halloween holiday drop when JaGeX apparently decided that the scythe would be the last item dropped and all future holiday items would now be given by temporary NPCs as well as continue to be untradable.

A shot at bunny ears and the scythe would be nice, but I'm not terribly worried about it. Oddly enough, I'm entertained by my yo-yo and rubber chicken as well as Diango's toy horsies and spinning plates. Maybe it's because they just look so amusing; the toy horsies especially make my character look like a little kid and I think that's a riot. I love the things my char says when he plays with the horses (or any other char for that matter playing with 'em).
