Yesterday I made a new avatar and a signature to go with this blog. The text of the signature and the title of this topic will be changed every week with cliché-ish versions of popular quotes, movie names, lyrics etc. The first one comes from maybe the most epic quote ever: mr Martin Luther King jr's "I have a dream". I hope no one is offended by me raping/misusing the quotes I will use, and doesn't lose respect for this blog because I miserably copy the work of Adbusters and others. I just had great fun making up as many new versions with the word "feather" as possible, and want to share the best of them.

 

 

 

There isn't much new on the featherfront. They are still 4gp ea, I'm still buying them and there are still trade restrictions. :wall:

 

I am now however ready to tell more about why I'm doing this.

 

Why are you doing this?

 

I support free trade. If one wanted to buy 10M feathers, they should be allowed to do so. After the restrictions I don't think no one has managed to do that. I want to become the first, unless someone wants to reveal the ones that have already been there. (Cheating through stores is not allowed, it is not buying, it's creating more feathers from nothing.)

Today I didn't play much, tried to keep a day off. Went too see a football game with my dad etc. (real football)

 

I made up my mind with the feather selling competition. It will be a week long race, starting tomorrow and ending next sunday. (4th-10th) The top 3 sellers are awarded free BGS rents during the 33rd week. Previous "scores" count as well, so a few people have a headstart.

 

It's possible to buy 60k feathers through GE in a day, so in a week the max is 420k feathers.

 

I understand that the reward isn't much to those who already have 10 of each GS, but to those I can give a free feather or two if they manage to win.

 

One week untill school begins again, should buy my books and see the Dark Knight next week...

July 4th - Broad bolts crash

 

Broad bolts were released on the 5th of June 2008, with the smoking kills quest. It took me a month to get 300 slayer points to unlock the ability to make them. I had read some good feedback on them from TSG forums and tested them out in castle wars. Just like broad arrows and addy arrows, they were the cheaper version of addy bolts. Addy bolts were ~200gp ea, making broad bolts cost only 54gp ea and took a little time.

 

I assume I was one of the lucky few dozen people who profited the most from making broad bolts. After the release of smoking kills they were only 50gp ea on GE, but by July they had gotten to 70gp ea. I learned that I could craft 60k bolts per hour and each bolt gave me 20gp profit at best. One million gp profits tasted so good, I was forced to risk the condition of my wrists. Fletching bolts still has no make-x option.

 

When I started fletching broad bolts in early July, I had 13.6 million fletching xp. Now I have 19.4 million. Fletching a broad bolt gives 3xp, so in total I have fletched nearly two million broad bolts. The average profit was 18gp, so last month I made ~35M gp just by standing in a bank, chatting and whacking with other people. For me this was epic money, because I do not enjoy monster hunting in teams and have always had bad luck at mith dragons.

 

Today I noticed broad bolt prices were too low to make me interested to sell my 200k of them. 600k gp/h for such a painful task as fletching bolts isn't enough to keep me going, and I think the profits will go even lower. You can check the RSOF to see the few others who have fletched propably millions of broad bolts, panic selling theirs before prices drop even lower.

 

I'm leaving this sinking ship now, because I have made enough money from it already. I wanted to start playing castle wars again, but didn't want to advertise broad bolts by using them and didn't want to cw without them. As I said, school starts next week and I wouldn't have enough time for this fletching hobby anyways.

 

 

 

I started my "feather collection" because I wanted to get as high profits as possible. 2gp more for each feather would've cost me too much (4M), so it was worth it to take the trouble and make this blog.

 

I am still buying feathers. The collection never took off very well because I was constantly using my feathers as I bought more of them. I have made enough money to buy 10M feathers without it affecting my bank very much. I will not give up on something I promised I would do. I am going to get 10 million feathers.

In runescape I've played castle wars in world 24. I only need 200 tickets till I can build the gold decorative cw armor set in my house. Should have this long term goal finished before christmas...

Hellhounds FTL. 153 black demons next :wall: So they are good xp and drop a nice amount of crimsons.. but they are also the longest and the most annoying task that I haven't bothered blocking.

Finally I did achieve my "antistacking" goal. When I started this morning/ yesterday night Zamorak was behind by 4 wins, now the scoreboard is tied.

 

Got to 1656 tickets and added Redcard to my sad list.

Had my first day in my new school and can already tell that it will be exciting to see how we come through this year. My old school got merged to this one so the town saves money. In this new school we don't have any luxuries like places where to spend our breaks or where to read peacefully. (school library is used as a classroom). Lunch break got halved and the drive to school tripled. Not to mention new teachers ( :ohnoes: ) and God knows how much more homework.

 

A good thing is that my old classmates are here too, and the food is atleast as good as before.

I wonder how many days it would take me to get to 80 rcing by only playing the new minigame.. Sometimes I feel like I'm unstoppable, that no barrier can hold my orbs and I always move them to the right direction, and then the next game I lose all rounds and can't figure out why the orb doesn't move anywhere no matter how many times I try to repel it.

 

I already got full blue robes, now how many teleport tablets will I need? Few blood tabs for bloodveld tasks, a few lunar tabs for easy changing to lunar spells and one or two of the other ones just in case I could need them in a quest one day? Or should I just leave the rcing minigame for good and get back to castle wars. I haven't ever needed those teleport tabs before, why should I need them now. Don't nerf my old teleports plz.

I really hope the first week was the hardest. I already gave some serious thought to making a school-shooting RPG/FPS, inspired by my new school. :? The days are long, where ever you go you can expect someone to be there, follow you there, or see you going there. There isn't enough space for your own thoughts. The atmosphere is stressing, loud and just plain good-old-fashioned dull.

 

 

 

Atleast http://www.runescape.com managed to cheer me up. The news about the return of pking is thrilling. Real pking could make my old rs mates come back and training summoning could become worthwhile for a change. Then again, I wouldn't pk in the oriented worlds because I don't enjoy risking *anything*. But if the rewards were untradeable and must-have items, I would be forced to try it out. Not to mention the epic quest, which will obviously be a blast.

I have been playing somewhat actively from at least 2005 and seeing the old interfaces and the old graphics brings up memories to another level. Especially as I only have about 2 pictures from my early gaming (which is a shame, I'd love to be able to follow my early progress, but alas that cannot be helped). Were fire giants really that ugly back in the old days? Everything looks so less crude today. Although I miss some elements of the old runescape interface.

 

 

 

Which monster is that on the third picture? From the terrain and the drops you left it looks like an old iron dragon. Oh yes, it is. But I have to squint my eyes a lot to be able to tell. :P

Today I played a few rounds of castle wars, but didn't manage to enjoy it much. Had to do something else, so I finished the black demon task with ranged. I used to do my black demon tasks with crystal bows before I got 99 ranged, now I used broad bolts. If broad bolts really are better than crystal bows, it didn't feel like it. Next time I'll pray and melee like usual, ranging is not a good method.

 

 

 

Next task was suqahs, but I changed them to 191 dark beasts. : No idea when I'll get around to doing the task though.

 

 

 

I also spent a few minutes training my f2p noob account Perapk. He has 31 attack, 20 strenght, 5 defence and 16 prayer (l0l). I'll train it to be a pro pker for the pvp worlds: 40 attack, 43 prayer =P~ Or then not.

I'd like to get more permanent feathers sellers for the following nine million feathers, please :pray: It's not like you're losing anything other than a ge slot, so if you have spare coins hiding in your bank, make some use of them! If you aren't going to do anything with them, you could just aswell buy feathers!
