[Space]- Nightfall. Check it out!

Featured Replies

Well, i'm sitting here scanning my pc, with nothing better to do. Finaly I decide, hell, lets open up photoshop.

So i kind of mess around with a few things, look at some pieces of mine, all of that. Finaly, I notice a WIP space scene i was trying to do for a 3 way battle (me Azvareth and 1525). Well, the scene never got finished, battle never got done, so nothing ever happened.

So I opened it up, and just started playing with it a bit. I finaly decided that the scene was never going to get that Flashy. I wasn't going to have anything blowing up, or nebulas galore. So instead i tried to just get a nice, calm look. Reason I named it nightfall was, because more or less, it reminded me of the night.

Anyways, i also kept a few things in mind while doing this. The first thing i didn't want to do is have too many stars. I as well did not want to overdo, or oversaturate the piece with nebulas everywhere you can look. And also, i did not want to place the planet in a corner, like I always do.

Well, i think for the most part, I suceeded. I didn't fall pray to trying to do too much to it, and although i realize it could use some work (possibly smoothing out the nebula some) I do like it.

Well, C&C, comments, rates, whatever is apreciated. Even though I will probaly try and get a more... I don't know, technicaly cool one done (with more nebulas, explosions, all that cool stuff) I realy just wanted a calm piece that I could have fun making. :)

ps: if you look at it with a realy bright moniter, it may seem fairly bad. I just noticed that and will fix it tomorrow. (because of a screen i did, i can't notice it whenever just looking at my flatscreen normaly, but when i stood up to look at it it was realy... bright in the dark spots. :P

It was kind of ment to be bare :)

I may add more to it later, kind of transform it into another piece, but not right now :P

thanks.

Not working for me...

I see a big white blotch, and the rest is black. Then the two colors don't really go together... What's the point? Looks like a planet and a unfinished background thrown together.

Agreed. Also, why is the planet glowing from the dark side?

yeah, i noticed the white blotches yesterday, and I am going to get them fixed. I didn't notice them before because my monitor is quite dark.

And the glowing is kind of supposed to be far behind the planet. not right by it.

I'll work on it some more today/tonight, add some more, and fix some stuff.

I like it but agree it needs quite a bit of work, also Nad, how about getting on msn?

Really nice! Looks very realistic :)

I have no idea about how to do it on Photoshop

I agree, its very realistic, but there is another program that do Space/Landscape, that isnt photoshop?

In the title it said check it out, i didnt want to but...

It would look better if more colors were used.

where be the stars around the nebulamambober?

For everything else its good!

Pity we never did finish that battle, but I hope if we would have that wasn't all you were going to enter bud :P

Looks like what we'd see in a sig... ya just added some extra space :P.

Terragen/Vue can do landscapes, vue i guess could somewhat do a space scene.. but not realy O.o.

Anyways, I may actualy just kind of do some resizing and put it for a sig... lol. I've always had a problem trying to get a full space scene filled up nicely.

I also will probaly add some more stars to it.

The planet looks spectacular. However, as you said, the Nebula is not so good. It's too obvious that it's brushing, try to make it more nebula-y.

How can you not notice the white blotches? They are the only thing on there. ...?

no, my pc moniter is dark, so when sitting at it at my normal angle, i only can see darkness around the planet/nebula and such. So, it was a mistake of mine for not checking it when it was brighter.

EDIT: ah, i see what your talking about now. I'll fix it up.

still at it Nad, as always it looks great, although i know you wanted fewer stars but it seems a little plain around the planet, just seems off. You should maybe work on something going around the planet like a type of gravitational pull or something. Also the light behind the planet seems a bit off... seems like there is a sun or something on the other side shining off of it or something, it just doesnt give that far away angle you were going for. It is a very peacefull piece and you should be proud of it because that was what you were going for. I really like it, but i hope you touch it up a little more.

Good seeing you again,
