Erm I'm not one to need weight loss...But I feel another thread is wasting space,so how would one increase weight.Seriously I'm 17 and weigh 37 frikking kg.Not sure about pounds though. You could play Guitar Hero with my ribs and still think you were hitting notes,I'm serious.

Eat more and lift weights.

I'm not exactly weak lol.I've been in NCC for a while, though yeah I don't get to participate in PT any more...But still,I've been working out.I'm guessing my frame can't take much more in terms of size, but 37kg is like skeletal...

As with eat more...I can't take veggies for some reason but otherwise I have a reasonably healthy diet...

So I'm either wierd or have a tapeworm tbh.

Props for getting it done, not many people actually go through with it all the way.

Just make sure you don't relapse. That'd suck major balls.

If you can't put on weight you're just not eating enough calories.

In a year I've gone from weighing ~210 and being a complete and total softie whose never lifted weights before to ~185 with barely any fat, nearly all muscle. This is at 6'3''.

I have after pics but no real good before ones, thus I won't bother posting them.

My routine early on consisted of light lifting and running nearly every day. As the fat burned off I put more emphasis on lifting heavier. Nowadays I'm "bulking" so I don't run nearly as much, I just eat tons! Its amazing what a year can do if you're dedicated...

How tall are you dragoonson? From the tone of your post, I'm assuming that you're around average height but only weigh 37kgs, which is a real problem (especially if you're male, which I'm assuming you are). You definitely need to put on some weight, and as many people suggested eating appropriately in concert with exercising properly will most likely do the trick, unless you suffer from some sort of condition.

From my experience I see a lot attention and focus being placed in the general media around weight loss, but not very much focus on weight gain. This is not to say that I think weight loss is an unworthy cause, rather that the latter is often disregarded. Personally I can sympathise with your situation dragoonson (perhaps not to the same extent as you however) as I used to weigh 60 kg a year ago, at a height of 175 cm. Although my BMI was ~19.5 and was still considered within the healthy range, my body was quite skinny and I was reknowned for hurting people on the sporting field due to my boniness etc. However, I decided around Sept./Oct. last year that I was going to do something about this, which amounted to lifting weights and eating better/healthier and at more regular intervals. As of today, I weigh 72 kgs and my BMI is a nice 23.5.

A very important aspect in weight gain and loss I believe is the mental state: you have to want it, and you have to pursue it. If you don't see immediate gains or improvements, it doesn't mean it isn't working. Also, it is irrelevant; what is more important than maintaining a healthy lifestyle? At the end of the day, I highly doubt anyone will not make any progression towards their goals so as long as they take a healthy, sustainable approach towards it. Your body will reward you for your effort.

.

I have a feeling I could take a few pointers from you man.

And one of those would probably be sleep, I can hear the birds are out now. I'm surprised this is only the first time I've done this this summer. I'm off to bed with this, 5 a.m. is a bit late/early me thinks.

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.

Good work, and nicely done  Although no real pics are allowed on the forums, i hope a mod makes an exception here, because thats impressive. :D

As others have said, eat, a lot. You need to eat lots of smaller meals rather than just three large ones per day to keep your metabolism ticking over. Like me, you have a very fast metabolism which means you can eat a lot and still not put on much weight, so you need to couple the extra eating with muscle building weight training. Lift heavy weights for low repetitions for mass building. The hypertrophy in your muscles will force the extra food you're eating to be used in muscle building, and since you're tearing down the muscle fibres they'll grow back stronger, i.e. heavier.

I mean, don't worry about it too much. I'm sure you'll fill out when you're older but for now just eat a lot (healthy stuff) and workout. Don't focus too much on cardio because you'll end up burning too many calories but do a bit now and again so you have a healthy heart.

While I am reasonably fit and not overweight, I still have some less attractive body fat and would have use of turning it into firm muscle. This inspired me to get back to the run track again and burn that last bit of fat and grow some extra muscle by doing push-ups. It's not much effort to me, and I usually have fun exercising, it's just that I keep forgetting about training while I sit around working on the computer or reading books. Thanks for that, mate!

Congratulations as well on making a healthy life. Keep exercising and eat adequately so it does not flip over to losing too much weight. Being fit has so many benefits, especially the effect is has on your self-esteem and well-being. Enjoy it now and good luck in the future! Sweet!

Oh, congratulations. That really is a lot of change!

Of course this thread isn't only about you. I'm going to talk about myself too. Because I want to get in shape a bit as well. After two and a half year of doing no sports I started again yesterday. 8-) Fitness and swimming. Three times a week. First fitness, and then swimm for anout 45 minutes. I feel a little stiff now, but that will get better in a month or two.

But, congratulations, great job!
