The casting speeds are the same, the melee hitting may not be but the cast speed is.

 

 

 

And you need to go to the g.e to sell racks/runes/items anyway, so you just buy the bloods then.

 

 

 

Oi...test them yourself, I have. I won't try to convince you further. Ancient staffs have a similar speed, I assumed this was common knowledge...

If you plan on maging barrows I'd go with firewave, it's cheaper and it is better.

Besides, the slayer staff looks better, and it has a higher magic bonus, and it shoots faster.

Cast time is the same, but slayer dart is the fastest moving projectile spell. Only time it matters is when doing the doublecast trick.

No, all damage spells have the same cast time. Lol @ people who think testing means casting one spell, then another, and deciding one looks faster.

It is affected by magic bonus but as the melee brothers have such negative magic defence you can have a low magic attack bonus and still hit well. If you had a 0 magic bonus because of melee armour and attacked someone with a positive magic defence bonus you'd barely hit.

 

 

 

The max hit of it is your magic level divided by 10 plus 10 and rounded down.

 

(eg.77 / 10 = 7.7 + 10 = 17.7 rounded down = 17)

Yep, all spells have the same casting speed. All spells will attack at the speed of a longsword regardless of spell or staff.

 

 

 

And what's the doublecast trick? Is that where you make two spells hit at the same time?

most people use slayer dart because the runes you get from the chest are the ones used in the spell and you usually get more than you spent so its free mage xp pretty much

the spell hits more accurately with more mage atk bonus although at barrows this dosent matter at all because they have such a low mage def.
