What is the use of Quikchat only worlds?

So people dont have to deal with

You have public chat toggles for that...

Maybe, but I kinda feel like an asshat when I simply ignore people like that. On QC-only worlds you can go around and do your thing without being bothered too much, and any interaction with others can be dealt with swiftly. I usually don't mind a chat, but at times there's just me wanting to do some stuff while not being distracted by anything, like when I come home late tired, yet unable to sleep. A bit of clicking without giving it much thought is a good way to empty the mind, and not having to deal with questions and such helps the "not much thought" part.

i thought they were pointless but then i was muted and quickchat was good for it but its also for if u dont want to talk

They're great for when people are harassing you by following you or messaging you with lame pick up lines and they won't get the message. Even if they do stalk you across worlds, they can't make them due to enforced polite talking.

Also, if another world is lagging for you, quick-chat's the best bet for less lag... fewer people use them.

Holding pens for the children. Hopefully, they will later be converted into Soylent Green manufactories.

There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.

It's obvios, as Master_Smither said it's mainly there for mutes. They'd rather not be pm'd questions that they can't answer etc... They meet other muted people. It's alot quieter as some people like training in silence and no spam. I remember reading a thread that a mute had wrote up and he was praising these worlds.

My thread. I'll try to dig it up

It's been mentioned earlier in the thread, but when quick chat was released, Jagex saw fit to lift the age limit to play runescape. You're no longer required to be 13 or older to sign up.

However, anybody who is under 13 will be limited only to the quick chat system. They can't hear or speak anything else.

It very quickly became apparent that this was confusing for any underage players and 13+ players who tried to interact. The younger player would ask a question in quick chat, and the older player would respond in public chat, and the younger player wouldn't hear, etc.

So Jagex made worlds 160 and 161 where that problem doesn't come up.

To get away from the aggressive players that love to taunt people like me for no reason, that's why

QC worlds, as others have said, are for herding the muted players so it's less likely for confusing moments where non-muted people try to have a conversation with someone who can only say things like 'Yes', 'No' and 'I like your item'.

I prefer having the freedom to speak my mind, but it is nice every once in a while to get away from all of the incompetence and flaming that happens in 'scape.

So in short, they made those worlds for people who can't toggle their public chat?

Nobody can't toggle public chat =/

It's for the ones that don't want to toggle public chat :D

Yeah, I hate turning it off when I'm just hanging around/walking about. Always makes me paranoid.

Lol, actually? I know what you're talking about. I always think that someone's trying to get my attention and I'm just standing there looking like a meany who refuses to help. :(

its for the people who don't want to listen to all the idiots around them flame and call random people noobs. (But they still want some communication).
