Couple questions about Barrows

1. In all the guides I've read, none explain it. Do you just open the crypt and mage the brother while you are standing right next to him? Like for the melee brothers. Or is there a safespot that you can mage them from in the crypts?

A 1. There is no safespots, you can run around the coffin, but it doesen't do much good.

 

A 2. They're what the word says, tunnels you run through to get to a treasure room.

 

A 3. I'm not sure, I think it is 10 points per 15 seconds, not sure though.

 

A 4. Here again, I'm not sure, If you've seen it in a vid, It probably does, but I'm sure it doesent.

 

A 5. He cannot hit through prayer, and doesen't heal if he doesen't hit.

2. The tunnels is where the final chest is located as well as the last brother. You can also get your kill count higher here.

 

3.Not sure but if you kill them fast enough its not TOO much of a factor.

 

4.No it doesnt do it everytime, it does it randomly. Don't concern yourself with it too much but dont try to afk him either.

 

5. No, he wont hit you if you pray on him and he wont heal, but to save prayer potions most people don't pray on him.

1. you just have to stand next to them and mage them apart from ahrims where you will have to either range or melee him, i suggets range

 

2. the tunnels are where you will get to fight the last barrows brother and you can get extra kill count by killing the monsters in there like skeletons but they do not affect the chance of a barrow loot. the chest containing your rewards is in the middle of the tunnel.

 

3. the prayer drain is 8 prayer point plus the number of barrow brothers you have killed, so if you have killed 2 barrows brothers then the drain rate is 10 prayer points.

 

4. verac's special can occasionally hit through your prayer but not all the time, on the video these players will often have super potted so that they hit more accurately and more often.

 

5. Guthan's spec can happen even if you pray but you do not take any damage, the games pretends that he would have hit your so he will heal by it even if you have prayed against it.

Actually, I find dharok harder in the tunnels. Once, he popped up, hit me 36, no biggie, clicked on my prayer potion, but it didn't drink it, so wham, another 36. I had 73hp. I did get protect from melee up eventually, but it was rather scary.

The hardest brother in the crypts is Verac, because he hits through prayer (even though prayer helps lower his accuracy of hitting), and hardest in the tunnels is Karil because he can't be safespotted and hits hard.

 

 

 

Also, with Dharok: Never thinkthat you'll make it if you have not much prayer and he has not much health. You'll get drained and one-hit #-o (that's especially frustrating at the chest)

Is this new and confirmed? Haven't been to the barrows for some time and thought it was alway 10 points every 15 secs, no matter how many brothers have been killed. Has this changed?

Drain rate is 8 + amount of brothers killed. If you've killed 4 brothers, the drain rate of your prayer is 12 points per 15 seconds.

LOl karil is by far the hardest in the tunnels, I very nearly learned this the hard way... thank god for R.O.L, it got me out with 4 pray points and 6 hps. :ohnoes:

My R.O.L. Didnt work for some reason, I opened chest, out popped Karil, hit me with a 20 then a 21. Luckily someone blessed my grave, got everything back.

There are no safespots in the crypts.

A network of rooms and corridors under the Crypts which contain your "tunnel brother", a few monsters, and the chest with your loot.

Only sometimes. I'd estimate the effect works roughly 1/5-1/3 of the time

He can heal past prayer, but not hit you while you are praying. Guthan is a pushover anyway. Unless you are wearing mystic or something, you won't need to pray guthan.

3. The draining rate stays the same as normal, but every 15 seconds it takes arround 10 more points.

 

5. He won't hit through prayer, so if heals with you having prayer we will heal 0. No need to pray at him if you have good defence and good armor

It didn't work because you have to have less than 10% of your hp left. If it goes from 21 to 0, you're dead already and the ring of life doesn't save you.

1. There are actually still glitchy safespots in the crypts for the melee brothers. It's the same corner safespot, but you manually cast a spell every seven or eight seconds. If you keep wide intervals between spells, they won't walk out of the corner trap. It's based off of what's known as the "sidestep": in the melee brother crypts, you can step around a certain corner of the coffin to catch a break and heal or whatnot.

 

 

 

3. The drain rate is: 8 + (brothers killed) every fifteen seconds. I've personally confirmed this during my runs.
