Jagex are officially beyond retarted. At first I thought Pest Control was the biggest insult to us old timers, but Bounty Hunting has topped it off completly.

 

 

 

WTF were they thinking. This is why a game made by non gamers goes through so many flaws. Bounty Hunting has completely ruined the honor system we upheld, its beyond disgusting. Praying 1v1 in combat was unheard of in the old days, and pjing with friends ther exists more than ever.

 

 

 

So angry, Jagex are toppling downhill faster and faster, establishing Runescape more and more each day as a game for young children who haven't hit puberty. It's become mindless and disgraceful.

Exactly in the RS world that I have always known (will be 4 years in August), honor system had rarely been used.

 

 

 

do you know how many times I was attacked while doing clues? More times than I could count. How about the number of times being attacked by someone while trying to hunt green dragons? Or the ruthless, Abyss killers.

 

I realize that the wilderness was created to be dangerous, but unless you had a huge clan with you the wilderness was a place I stayed away from.

 

 

 

Yes, you could say that I was an unskilled PKer, but as an opposite opinion to yours...there is more to runescape than killing another person.

 

 

 

Open your eyes to the other possibilities...they are there.

See, the one problem here is, you're not an oldschool pker. This is a rant forum where I hope to reach out to others in my situation. I do not need to hear your 2 cents especially when you are in no position to compare the old and the new. Do not shut my rant down, instead read it, disagree and move on without posting. I'm here for a select group of people, and you are not one of them.

RSC wilderness was about as good as you could get.

 

 

 

RS2 and the desutruction of 3 hitting and introduction of protect from melee ( worst ... prayer ... ever ) made killing people farily IMPOSSIBLE. So players were forced to create an honor system which I believed was followed by the good pkers, and ignored by the ones who couldn't make it as successful pkers.

 

 

 

It firstly invloved not eating unless you were in danger of being 1 shot ( as fights would last indefinetly )

 

Praying melee 1v1 was out of the question

 

Pjing has always existed, no exceptions here.

 

 

 

The honor system underwent changes every time jagex clicked the update button, making it harder and harder for us to adapt. Teleblock was ( imo ) nearly the doom of the wilderness, as deep wild pking became non existant. Players would easily teleblock and lure you into clans at the ladder ( now lever ), so it was declared dead.

 

 

 

Edge pking took over, and struggled big time, but it was still there and our honor system was still in play.

 

 

 

I leave, and come back to find it gone, and Bounty Hunter in play. Bounty hunter is quite simply, deep end wild pking, with advanced teleblock mechanisms.

 

 

 

EVERYONE prays 1v1, incredibly boring.

 

EVERYONE eats at 78hp. Lame lame.

 

 

 

Already, for us oldschoolers, its hit rock bottom. But wait, now if you even dare go for rogue points, the lingering clan will be waiting to smash 10 people onto you, heaps fun.

 

 

 

It's over, everyone who stuck around after jagex's 3 update screw ups and to pk in world 18 edgeville with me can tell you that. I think it's the last straw.

I have never argued that the wilderness wasn't dratically changed. I am not even necessarily saying that the new system is better than the old (from a player standpoint if you ignore RWT).

 

 

 

I am just saying you are talking of quitting the game without (at least it seems that way) looking at all the other things to do in the game.

 

 

 

Expand your horizons, do bh anyway, or quit. I for one, would like to see everyone try to expand their horizons.

Why if the honour system is so sacrid and precious has no-one implimented it into bounty hunter? because it was never really wide spread, well sure as hell wasnt for the last 2-3 years the wildy was around, and by that point the "honour system" was just a way of saying "ye you beat he noob, but only because you prayed/ate/potted/teled etc (i.e used the full aspects of the game)

 

If the Oldschool pkers were so concern about honour why isn't there people in BH saying that now?

 

Because a) there are different people playing now (less amture maybe but not really overall)

 

B) more people playing (more difficult to try to get the idea of honour over)

BH didn't ruin the honour system, Pkers did. By the end of the wildy the only Pkers (f2p at least) were pures looking for easy money. The wildy was awesome, the honour system, for most, was not exisitant

 

 

 

Most importantly BH is not a replacement for the wildy, jagex has moved away from kill/loot aspects of the game

I'm kinda glad I never enjoyed PKing, because then I'd be in the same boat as you guys who can't find anything else to do now except Rant about it on forums. I have tried it, never liked it, so of course I'll see people complaining about it as pointless.

The only time I heard that was from an arrogant moron who thought they were the only one's who can eat or pray. And The only place of honor was the Duel Arena; you bet and fought with your restrictions, and your own settings...The wilderness? Either avoid the clans, death dots, and PKers or die. Kill or be killed. If thats honor, then you old schoolers have no idea what true honor is...

2) Really? Give me a proposal of whats right then. Keep RWTing, and shut down, or eliminate it, implement a replacement until new PvP exists. The G.E was good, it stopped greedy [wagon] from controlling the economy. Item Lending is fine, it gives people a chance to lend before buying. And guess what? If you don't like people bothering you, then turn all chats to friends. If you don't want to be charged for lending, then find someone who will loan it for free. Otherwise, give me valid reasons why they suck.
