Insect Macro Photos (third one added)

After a time of not using my macro lens, I took it outside to do something with it again.

I walked to a bush in my garden which usually has some insects on it, but this time there were lots of these flies and some wasps on it. I dont know why but there were alot of them, maybe they were gathering water after the rain or something.

I didn't dare click the bigger pictures, but the right side of the normal one is kind of like paint-fill to me...Unless is that what a macro does?Seriously I don't have a special lens

Thanks alot everyone. :)

Looks really good, although I would say the blur seems a bit weird IMO.

Keep on Photographing ;)

I got the blur because 1) the plants were quite far away (1 meter or so) and 2) I used f5, which gave me a shallow depth of field just to get the fly sharp.

I like the blur alot personally, that way the fly really stands out.

I wont stop photographing, dont worry :)

[bleep] you for living in a cool place.

Great shot.

Haha, lots of people say that.

This was after a day of rain, one of those gray, boring days that we've had for the last couple of weeks.

And then I think about you Americans, where it never seems to rain :)

Say that to Virginia man. I swear I've lost power like 4 times in the past 2 months because of storms.

Canon EOS 350D + Canon EF 100mm f2.8 USM. Nothing else in this case, also no UV filter because I shattered it.
