Saradomin Godwars Guide.

Recommendations for reading: you should read Requirements for the god wars dungeon, Requirements for the Saradomin encampment, Suggested, getting started > then the MELEE and/or RANGE guides >

Taking and using a full terror bird (highly recommended). Located at the very bottom.

NOTE: if you are interested in ranging only read down to PART 1 (MELEE) and scroll down to PART 2 (RANGE)

Introduction; This is my Saradomin god wars guide that will show you the basic methods, skills and requirements to have effective and fun trip.

Requirements for the god wars dungeon;

60 Strength OR 60 Agility

To enter you will need a rope

It is a very big advantage if you have done >Edgars ruse< quest witch allows you to teleport to Trollheim, this will save you allot of time.

I also don't recommend Saradomin if this is your first god wars trip as its the most deadly.

Requirements for the Saradomin encampment;

70 agility (you can't drink a potion to do this)

A saradomin item is a MUST in this area and a Zamorak item is very useful (this will potentially save you lots of hitpoints).

Ability to use protect from magic.

Suggested;

For melee: 115+ combat with a attack, strength and defence level about 70.

For range: 85+ range with a defence level of 70+.

Getting started;

If it's your first time to try Saradomin you will have to lay 2 ropes (if it's your first time at god wars you will need to take 3 ropes), you should do this before you begin your trip. To get to the god wars dungeon follow this map from Trollheim

maptogodwars.png

Once you reach the dungeon marked with a "!" on the map place your first rope be fast because the freezing air will lower your stats. then follow this map

MAPOFENCAMPMENT.png

and lay your two final ropes on the rock outcrop marked with a curved arrow on the map.

NOTE: after laying the ropes you will never have to do that again.

PART ONE (MELEE).

4 people are needed for the most effective trip you can find allot on the events forum of runescape but going with friends is allot more enjoyable and you know the rewards are going to a good place.

Items needed;

Saradomin item - most commonly used are Saradomin book, saradomin stole, holy symbol, Saradomin cape (any Saradomin item works).

Any Zamorak item is recommended.

Super restore potions (4).

Saradomin brew (4).

3+ spiritual terror bird and tireless run scrolls (around 100) OR purple sweets (not recommended).

Full Veracs OR full Guthans with God sword.

Teleport tablet (doesnt matter where to)

Summoning potion (3)

Abyssal whip

NOTE: there is a "taking open terror bird" section at the bottom of this thread which should be used.

From the bank you should teleport to Trollheim drop two potions teleport back to the bank collect two potions then teleport back, you will have two empty spaces witch you can now fill with the potions you dropped at Trollheim.

Inventory setups;

The bones to peaches tabs are very useful, but it is just as effective to use only brews.

meleeb2p.png

With no bones to peaches you will need less super restore potions.

melee.png

Armour setups;

Veracs

verc.jpg

Guthans with God sword

Gs.jpg

Veracs seems to be the most effective for killing although Guthans will heal you.

Getting your kill count;

This is the main reason for brining an Abyssal whip this will make your kill count go much smoother. The main idea while getting your kill count is to avoid taking hits, the way to do this is by attacking the creatures that are already under attack from a Zamorak monster, this means the creature your attacking will not turn onto you and deal damage. the best creatures for this are spiritual mages (83 slayer) and spiritual warriors (64 slayer) however if you can't kill these the next best creatures are "knight of Saradomin" witch are weak and hit the least, theses creatures can be found all over the encampment. You NEED to get your saradomin kill count to 40 before you can enter the main room, this will take 10- 20mins.

Tactics for killing Commander Zilyana;

Make sure your praying protect from magic before you enter the room and summoned terror bird. The main idea is to "hit and run". This means when you attack her IF she turns to attack you, run in the opposite direction trying to stay in the corners. it wont be long before she goes after someone else in your team, at that point turn back and carry on attacking her.

DO NOT attempt to tank her, she can deal multiple attacks at once hitting 29s, also praying against melee and trying to tank her is just as bad, as her magic attack is the saradomin sword special and hits hard and fast.

commander.jpg

Killing the generals;

Keeping your protect from magic on. The generals will go for whoever deals the final blow to Commander Zilyana. running towards the north wall will make starlight (melee) go for someone else, Then the first monster you kill should be bree the ranging monster who will be the only one able to hit you and cause damage. finally kill growler. Also running to the south wall will make either bree or growler turn on someone else. Once you have killed them you should use your brews to regain hitpoints and prayer and position yourself on the south wall, this will give you enough time on the next round to get your prayer on.

PART 2 (RANGE).

Ranging at saradomin can be done with 3 people but is most effective with 4. Range is also the more expensive way to do saradomin god wars but should get you a kill count of 80+ you can find allot on the events forum of runescape but going with friends is allot more enjoyable and you know the rewards are going to a good place.

Items needed;

Saradomin item - most commonly used are Saradomin book, saradomin stole, holy symbol, Saradomin d-hide top (any Saradomin item works).

Any Zamorak item is recommended.

Super restore potions (4).

Saradomin brew (4).

3+ spiritual terror bird and tireless run scrolls (around 100) OR purple sweets (not recommended).

Veracs plate skirt.

Veracs helm.

Ava's accumulator.

Any d-hide body.

Rune c-bow.

Teleport tablet (doesnt matter where to)

Summoning potion (3)

Abyssal whip

Around 1000 diamond bolts (e) are most effective but for a 3 man team you may want to use ruby bolts (e)

Inventory setup;

Bones to peaches tabs are very useful and will save allot of saradomin brews.

meleeb2p.png

Bones to peaches are not needed but could also pro-long your trip.

Armour setup;

Combinations between the d-hide will not change this basic setup.

Getting your kill count;

You NEED to get your saradomin kill count to 40 before you can enter the main room, this will take 10-20mins.

Tactics for killing Commander Zilyana;

Make sure your praying protect from magic before you enter the room and summoned terror bird. The main idea is to create a "box" or "triangle" using long range is the most effective way to create a steady "box" but can be slow accurate and rapid are useful.

Box:4manmap.jpgTriangle:3manmap.png

Doing this will cause Commander Zilyana to get confused and will not target anyone, she will wonder around in the middle of your box and you will only be attacked by the generals. When she does come close to you click the position you are standing on so that you will stop firing but wont change the shape of your "box" as she moves off resume attacking her. IF she does manage to get close enough to attack you, run away into the corners and do not let her get close enough to attack you, your team member should try switching position into your place and you should go to his, this will keep the "box" in play.

DO NOT attempt to tank her, she can deal multiple attacks at once hitting 29s, also praying against melee and trying to tank her is just as bad, as her magic attack is the saradomin sword special and hits hard and fast.

Killing the generals;

Keeping your protect from magic on and switching to whip. The generals will go for whoever deals the final blow to Commander Zilyana. running towards the north wall will make starlight (melee) go for someone else, Then the first monster you kill should be bree the ranging monster who will be the only one able to hit you and cause damage. finally kill growler. Also running to the south wall will make either bree or growler turn on someone else. Taking and using a full terror bird (highly recommended);

Your terror bird will carry 12 extra potions that are very useful. To make the most use of your bird add these items;

birdinvent.png

Doing this will mean you can only take your kill count at the very top level of the encampment, this is probably the best place to take it anyway as there are the most monsters. when you have your kill count your bird will have anything from 5-20 minutes left. you should ask your team members how long they are going to be and log off so not to waste your bird.

When you log back on and are ready to go you need to go to the out crop where you lay your ropes (located to the east of entrance and camp) and follow the instructions below;

Kill your bird (leaving 12 items on the floor) > run to the very bottom room > drop 12 items > run back to the top where you killed your bird and collect your 12 items > run back down to the bottom > summon a new bird > fill it with 12 items > pick up the 12 items you dropped.

OR

Taking a unicorn;

Using a unicorn almost eliminates the use of saradomin brews. a single scroll will heal 16 if you have 99 hitpoints, it will heal less the lower your hitpoints level is. if you chose to take a unicorn you should setup you inventory like this;

invent-1.jpg

as your run is now limited purple sweets are needed, however you will not need to use them very often if you stop running after Commander Zilyana has been killed and using the box method. you can open you unicorn before you go in or whilst your in when its needed, if you use it while getting your kill count you will lose it because your unable to take it down the ropes.

YOUR READY TO GO!

NOTES;

Takeing a bird is highly recommended.

If you get dragon boots as a drop its best to drop a super restore potion.

There is an alter in there that can be used every 10 minutes.

Unicorns can also be used but i havent added it - i might tomorrow

Quick correction: Spiritual Warriors require 68 slayer. Otherwise, not to bad, though imo, Artemis' is still better.

Nice guide overall

but you typed ...

Suggested;

For melee: 115+ combat with a attack, strength and defence level about 70.

For range: 85+ range with a defence level of 70+.

add: 70 prayer it is very helpful because of(making more use of your super restores/prayer potions,and you can bless)

  • 2 months later...

Artemis1330's guide really outdoes this by far, no matter how much his guide is still in development. He just has his guide way better organized... and I don't necessarily agree with your setups. This gives a melee method set up until Artemis1330 starts working on his guide again... if he hasn't quit or disappeared or something >.<

But it could have been a lot better and its not really well organized. It needs a lot of work if you want to compare to Artemis1330.

Started free trade with 1.5m cash. 2 weeks later, have hit max cash 2x.

Wow, this THING is still here?, the setups SUCK, sorry to say that, but they do, you don't have many super restores, you start saying, using more unicorns reduces the use of super restores, now I ask you, do you sara GWD without mage prayer? because you know brews don't heal prayer points, the last setup is just HORRIBLE, only 2 prayer potions and 2 super restores? and 5 unicorn pouches? what the [cabbage]? I think you'll be out of pray before the first unicorn dies....Seriously, learn to sara before making a guide
