gabby_air88
Whats with the speed difference?like i would put offers on 1k nats on all the 6 boxes and one goes faster than the other...how does that work -.- Best tip.it F.O.G. player =)"No mercy for the weak, no pity for the dying, no tears for the slain"

BiJay
Yeah, that's pretty simple. If someone wants to buy nats the grand exchange chooses randomly a seller (or a box to be accurate). [404] Signature not found.

Judobreaker
It's pretty simple. As a buyer: The Grand Exchange will search someone that sells your items at the same price that you offered or lower. As a seller: The Grand Exchange will search someone that buys your items at the same price that you offered or higher. As soon as the G.E. finds a seller/buyer it will sell/buy the items at the price that is exactly in between both prices. For example, someone is buying sharks at 700gp each and the G.E. finds a seller that asks 650gp each. The sharks will then be sold at 675gp each. If there's already an offer in G.E. for 650gp and then someone wants to buy for 700gp it's sold for 650gp. If there's already someone who wants to buy it for 700gp and then someone wants to sell for 650gp it's sold for 700gp. The first offer/request counts! [404] Signature not found. Judobreaker
Then please explain to me why I get money back from offers that I had to wait for more then a day before they got traded...? If the first offer would count (my offer) all my money would be gone according to what you are saying. kingmickez25
This is how i view the grand exchange I wanna buy 1 shark for 1k There are two guys One is selling for 1.5k and the other is selling for 900gp Obviously the ge would choose the 900gp and u would be returned 100gp and that one guy would be returned 900gp The grand exchange cant sell your item higher to accomidate another person So if someone is buying a pie for 2k and your selling 4k the grand exchange wont make the exchange and return u 2k Understand? The G.E. does definately not always take the price of the seller. I have had numerous times where the item I sold got sold for more then I put as minimum price. Same goes for buying where the G.E. usually returns some money to me. That is why I suspect that the G.E. goes right in between the offers. If the first offer would count (my offer) all my money would be gone according to what you are saying. I will start out by saying that I have NEVER experienced this and suspect you are mistaken. That said, if that did happen, the likely solution is you were buying an item that only sells a certain number every few hours. For example, I've been buying 3k swamp lizards 100 every four hours for a few days now -.-. Anyway, if your offer was in first, but then you had to wait to be allowed to buy the item, perhaps your price still was the one that counted. I guarantee 100% that it doesn't split the price. Judobreaker
How can you guarantee that... :P Can you prove it? My guide: Ring of Wealth explained 8 Dragon Boots (885 kills, 1/111, with RoW)
green9090
How can you guarantee that... :P Can you prove it? Yes. Go buy something in the GE, and you will find it works that way. Every single time. If your offer completes instantly, you might get money back. If not, you don't. You are the only person who I've ever heard claim differently, so excuse me for thinking you are mistaken. This is not a controversial topic, we've known this since the first week of the GE. Judobreaker
I'm not saying I'm right, I'm just saying that I suspect this as it seems like the most logical thing to do to me and my experiences haven't really proven me wrong... You say you have known this since the first week the G.E. came out... I would really like to see some hard proof without me having to do a trial and error testing run. :P Hard proof is always better then me testing and I would like to know how the G.E. really works. ^^ My guide: Ring of Wealth explained 8 Dragon Boots (885 kills, 1/111, with RoW)

One buys for like 3 months the same items on weird prices (a few gp above minimum) and I never got money back if I didn't buy instantly so your theory is just wrong. The other one is a pure merchanter - I try everything on him and I should know how the GE works. And you're the only one who experiences these things so if you don't tell us more details or proof it(!) then we all think you are mistaken (or you found a bug). [404] Signature not found. Judobreaker
Well, I'm probably mistaken cause I never really paid close attention to the G.E. I usually just buy at highest price and sell at lowest price to get it done as fast as possible... xD It just seemed to be the most logical way to calculate the price, I guess the G.E. thinks otherwise. ^^ My guide: Ring of Wealth explained 8 Dragon Boots (885 kills, 1/111, with RoW)

No I think this is right except the sharks are not sold at 675, just the normal 650, but you get your money back of course if you buy all of them for 650. But Im pretty sure if you put your offer in as max say sharks are 650-700-750, and someone about 30 minutes ago put in an offer for 20 sharks market price, and you just put one for 20 sharks or so max, your offer may be bumped up higher to the list so you'll buy them faster, but it may cost you more though. Hopefully you understand what I'm saying.
blakdragon39
If you are buying, the GE will never make you buy for MORE than you wanted, but you can buy for a less. Why? Not only would that be unfair to you, because you were not willing to buy for that high, you didn't put that money into the GE for it to use anyways. If you are selling, the GE will never make you sell for LESS than you wanted, because that again would be unfair, as you were not willing to sell for that low. I hope that clears stuff up... Judobreaker
Not really, as we kinda already agreed on that point, that still leaves all our options open. ^^ I'll check my sales a bit more to see what actually happens. :P My guide: Ring of Wealth explained 8 Dragon Boots (885 kills, 1/111, with RoW)
