Barrows, Avansies

Ok so this Thread has three questions...

1.) What barrows method should I use, with the stats that i have below in my sig. I have never barrowed before and Im aware that there are a multitude of methods. Perhaps a kind person could provide a link or a very brief description of the method I should use

1.A.) Is the crypt hard to get though cause that seems like it would be the hardest part for me

2.) Once again I need help deciding a method. Should I tank or should i use the prayer method for avansies? Also whats the best outfit for the one I should use?

3.) MTK question anwsered thanks to Bad's post \'

I realize that theses are some hard questions and its difficult to have them all in one thread but I decided to conserve space so that others could ask their questions and keep them on the front page instead of 3 threads by me.

Thanks in advance

read my guide about mtk: it's either 10 flax and 5 maple or 10 flax and 5 fish... depends a bit on the prices (maple and fish are nearly similar in profit)

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

10 raw fish and 5 coal is the maximum possible profit not considering bonus items. I personally use 10 fish and 5 maples for the seeds(I plant them but others sell I suppose).

uhm no: 10 flax, 5 fish is most profit! - the seeds however make up a lot so that it's almost the same as fishing!

Gotta get this off my chest first.

10 workers

[hide=]Fish

132 swordfish, 440 tuna (both raw)

62,568gp + 53,680gp = 116,248gp

Flax

1250 flax

= 117,500gp

Coal

545 coal

= 99,735gp

Maple Logs

891 logs

= -10,796gp (yes, thats right, you lose money)[/hide]

Now heres my take.

Fish>Flax>Coal>Maples>Anything else.

Fish is lower than flax as you can see, BUT if you look at the graph of flax, it is very unreliable with its prices and tends to move up and down.

Fish however, stays steady (currently riseing too) and is constantly the best, because you get half keys, and more gems than coal (gotta luv caskets).

As for coal, it is horrible, it is increasingly falling in price after a month of being the same price and it gives so little gems.

As for Maple logs...here comes the contreversy. You would need a Magic seed every 2 days! Just to actually make more profit than coal. This will NEVER happen, the best i've ever seen is a magic seed every 3 days. Maple logs is just not smart, stay away from them.

SO Do 10 fish, 5 flax. Unless you want to monitor flax's price everyday, then leave it at 10 fish, 5 flax.

Lol, i answered one question, weird...

For Question #1, you should use the salamander strategy, it is cheap and reliable. You have 70+ in magic, range, and strength. Just get a black salamander and the corresponding ammo tar. Your method should be to use Magic style attack on all of the brothers, other than Ahrim, which you should range. Your stats aren't good enough for the Verac strategy.

For Question #1A, the crypt is definitely the hardest, yet it'll be easy unless you seriously make a mistake.

Tips:

-In the north-east corner of the crypt (just use your mini-map to find the NE room) are 3 safespots, this is the spot i use to avoid using prayer potions. Just open the doors going into the tunnels on the outside and then come back into the room by opening it again and repeat the process until your brother appears. Then you lure him behind the safespot.

For Question #2, What?

Do you mean for Barrows?

For inventory, i used the house method:

-Spade

-Holy Wrench (unnecessary, but i didn't use much food at all, so i could do multiple runs.)

-1 Prayer Potion (for emergency if Karil was my crypt brother, he hits way too hard to tank.)

-A Magic Shortbow

-Teleport runes to my house (or a house teletab, but those are hard to buy)

-Lunar staff, or dramen staff (explained in my method.)

-The rest is food, i used swordfish because i fished too many of them.

For Equipment:

-Salamander

-The Tar for Black Salamander (forgot what it was)

-Neitznot helmet

-Black d'hide body

-Black d'hide legs

-Dragon boots

-Barrows gloves

-Ring of life

For instructions, i just used my starting prayer (60). First, i killed dharok, then i killed karil, then if i had left over, i used the rest on ahrim. After that, i fought Verac with no prayer, then Guthans, then Torags (he has never hit me...like wtf). Whoever was my tunnel brother, i still fought them in that order. If Karil was my tunnel brother, i would use the emergency Prayer pot. Otherwise, i would just run to the NorthEast room and safespot the brother. After getting my killcount, i would teleport to my house, pray on my alter, use the mounted glory to edgeville. Restock, then use the fairy ring next to the G.E. to go underground in MortMyre. Then over the bridge, use the boat, and i'm back. (Code is A.K.S, i think)

Yeah, sorry question 2 was about avansies but w/e, I liked how you explained the method. Just two questions, whats the magic shortbow for? I'm guessing its for Arhim and ill guess I'll bring some rune arrows. Second question; Wouldn't it be better to wear Torags or something instead of black d'hide so I can withstand the melee's brothers?

Prayer potions are overkill. You have enough def and range to easily tank them.

Equip:

-Torag helmet

-Zamorak d'hide body

-Torag legs

-c'bow

-Broad bolts

-Granite/obby shield (they both have the same range def, so it doesn't matter, granite is cheaper though)

-Accumulator

-Snakeskin boots

-Barrows gloves

-Ring of Wealth/or Ring of Life, i use ROW on everything

-Armadyl Pendant

Just bring, B2p tabs, swordfish or some type of food, alch runes, mithril grapple.

You want to kill them in the middle area, because outside, you have to wear saradomin as well, and there are more aviasies on the inside. Also, there are level 73s, which are so much easier, along with 79s if it starts to get crowded.

P.S. You can use range pots too, those are pretty cheap.

SO Do 10 fish, 5 flax. Unless you want to monitor flax's price everyday, then leave it at 10 fish, 5 flax.

Bad911 is being quite naive with her figures here. She really forgets to calculate in the extras that you get for each product. She briefly mentions the magic seed, but does not give you the proper information for an informed decision. She also tries to overestimate what the fishing extras are worth. I would say that you get a the half key teeth about as often as you get a palm or magic tree seed. But she fails to mention that you get 8 bird nests a day worth 3.5kea. So that is a constant 27-28k a day which makes sure no matter what seeds you get maples are a profit. Then there are other tree seeds as mentioned by another person. Willow-3.5k, Pineapple-11k, Maple-30k, Papaya-34k, and Yew-60k. You will most likely receive at least two of these seeds a day.

Two-Three seeds a day and 8 nests don't make more than Fish. I've tested both as a matter of fact, over a week, over a day, and on average. The fact that, if you get 1 day of bad luck, it'll drop your profit pretty badly, thats why i think its the worst. Not because i didn't take into consideration of the other seeds, but because its a gamble.

The only reason i brought up the half keys is because i was comparing the two investments, whereas Maples, you depend on your luck, Fishing doesn't, and you get bonus on the side.

Maples easily beats coal, but i've gotten worse than coal on a bad day.

EDIT: To my surprise, flax has stayed steady for two weeks now, and that is really surprising. Also, fish has dropped, so if your reading this, you should switch to 10 flax and 5 fish. Fish has only dropped marginally (mainly swordfish), but flax is really steady. And i don't know why

I did Aviancies from 75 to 83 Range and my method was to use the best Range armour possible and pray.

This was my typical set up:

Sara Coif

Black DHide body

Black DHide legs

Snakeskin boots

Accumulator

Zammy book

Barrows Gloves

Ring of wealth

Holy wrench in inv

Rune XBow

Mith bolts

3 x Range pots (4)

6 x Prayer pots (4)

about 5 Swordies

300 Fire runes

100 nats.

You need the Sara and the zammy to keep from being attacked by other monsters. I always visit the O'oglog pools / Bandos pool before i go. This set up will usually yields about 150-250 Addy bars and 100K in alches. Total cash 560K less ppots (42K), call it 500K profit per trip lasting two - two and a half hours. I buy mith bars and make my own bolts which comes out of the profit. (Which incidently was enough to buy a DFS :D )
