Just posing a question that has been in my mind for a long time. The robin hood hat has a +8 bonus. Is that really meaningful? While it might be a 10% bonus to the range outfit that has 80 att bonus, it seems like a small difference. I don't range often enough to know the real impact, nor am I as smart as some of you other esteemed warriors.

 

 

 

As a follow-up, is the +8 worth a 2.1 mil purchase price?

It isn't worth it, because the god coifs have 1 less range bonus, but are generally about 10 times cheaper or so.

It's mostly for looks.

It's not worth the cash. Zammy Coif is only like 180k and Sara is only about 160k. I'd just get one of those instead.

It's the best hat a pure can wear.

Or just spend a little more and get an Armadyl Helm, best range bonus in head slot in game?

Stick with coif or archer helmet. Robin looks good, but dosent make so big difference, atleast i didn't experience that.

My thoughts exactly.

The robin hood hat is for looks, and to show off your wealth. If you want the best bonuses go for god coifs or if your quite rich; an Armadyl helmet will do.

Get a god coif or an archer helm. +1 or 2 range isn't going to make that much of a difference.

As everyone else has said, it's probably not worth the money.

 

 

 

I still use one, however, because I only have 61 range. I also just think it looks cute. I did have an archer helm, but it is so ugly that I usually just left it in the bank when I trained range. I finally sold it when I realized I just hated it so much I'd never wear it. That's when I bought the robin. I will probably sell it and buy a god coif when (if?) I get 70 range.

 

 

 

At this point, however, I think I lend it out far more than I wear it anyway. I might keep it even after I get a god coif just for that reason.

As far as pure effectiveness goes, I suggest full Range void (gained from PC), as it increases the damage you do, whereas the robin hat's +8 simply increases your chance of not hitting a zero.
