Baconxl
So which would be a better purchase? The Bandos would only be top and bottom. I really mostly only slay and don't do all that many bosses. Melee stats are 91/90/99/94 (att/str/def/hp) After I get maxed melees I plan on doing a good bit of bosses and getting my ranged up to do sara and arma gwd, so DFS would come in handy there. Any advice is appreciated :) Thanks. EDIT: Yea, it's one or the other here, can't afford both anytime soon :P

123_x_pac
Well, I'd go with dfs if your slaying. If you could afford both go ahead. green9090
DFS. It's better for everyday stuff and WAY better for those dragon tasks. Bandos is nice, but there's noplace where it's fantastic like DFS at dragons. Well, I'd still go for DFS. It's pretty great for tanking and stuff too- Bandos has less defense than barrows, so it won't always be your armor. With the DFS, it IS the best shield, period. Inuashakent
Bandos. Although dfs is all around the best shield in the game, if your power training Rune defender was proven to b e faster xp. (Defence doesn't really matter unless your low level.) If all you really do is slayer, get bandos. Although I would get niether and buy shards, c balls, prayer pots, ect. toast647
If you have all those blocked then why not buy bandos? Gives some str bonus, and is almost as good as torags, and doesn't degrade. Rune defender gives attack bonuses, DFS doesn't. You really don't need the extra defence from the DFS Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool

wioneo
If you're sticking to slayer, I would advise you to get bandos armour. You really shouldn't need that defensive boost at all anymore(on tasks that is)with all of the ways t heal that have been added, and you will be finishing tasks faster with a defender. Also, if it matters, I have personally never owned a DFS for lack of necessity, the only really "good" use for one in my opinion would be at DKs or Sara, but maybe tha's just me. Sorry lol I can't afford so i have absolutely no idea. My friend told me that :? EDIT: from rs Knowlage base ~ The shield can hold up to fifty charges, and each charge stored within it will add +1 to its stab, slash, crush and ranged >>defence<< Friend must have thought that, that was towards attack :P . So, for example, with 30 charges stored it will have + 50 stab defence, + 55 slash defence, + 52 crush defence, + 10 magic defence and + 52 ranged defence. whatisup618
I would say get bandos and hope for a visage drop? Although I totally wanted a DFS a while ago I remembered it was just a shield. But now that i think about a DFS with Torags wouldn't be half bad. Proud Owner Of A Quest Cape As Of 4/29/
green9090
I would say get bandos and hope for a visage drop? I'd just like to say that nobody should EVER do anything planning on a visage drop. It takes so long that you nearly always could have made enough money to buy the stupid thing instead; it can take months and months. Deathmath
When you go visage hunting you have to accept that you'll probably make more money on other drops than the stinking thing itself. You might make enough money trying to get a visage you could just buy a dfs. Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again
Bananamatic
Both bandos and DFS stink, not worth the cost. Buy something useful or save/spend the money.

Fighter torso is garbagbe, the defence is almost non existant. Really, bandos' defence almost causes it to be useless.
