konzserwas
Ok, so I decided i want to kill some of those arma followers And I have some questions : 1) Are my stats good enough? (look at teh signature) 2) dragonhide or something with high defense? or perhaps p pots + range pray? 3) how much money per hour would i get? 4) are they good charm droppers? 5) Should i get that arma pendant, or will i be ok with everyone being aggresive? That's all i guess :D
123_x_pac
You have good range and defence stats, so I would tank them. Yes I would get the armyadyl pendant. I'm not sure about how much cash per hour you would get. And they don't drop charms. llamster
1. Yes. 2. Going into Armadyl's Eyrie (not the central area of GWD, it's too crowded) and putting on Protect from Range while shooting a bunch of aviansies with emerald (e) bolts is the fastest way to kill them. Otherwise, use dragonhide and a granite shield, and heal using B2P. Do not use prayer if you're going to fight them one on one. 3. Maybe 300-400k an hour, not sure. 4. They don't drop any charms. 5. If you can afford it, Armadyl armor is an excellent choice. It's the best range armor in the game and it frees up the amulet space so you can use a glory/fury. Otherwise, use the pendant if you're fighting them without prayer. Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

D Jay99
Thanks! But.. um.. i suck at terms  By tank you mean low range bonus, high defense bonus, right?Tanking is using armour to defend from their attacks instead of prayer. It's best to balance range defence/attack, so you still have some defence against their attacks but you're still able to hit them alright. I recommend using range potions and b2p tabs/spells. Rune c'bow with mith bolts. Use an armour setup used in one of the guides in the prayer made guides forum.
daisie777
im gettin my ranged to lvl 70 through slayer and i currently have a defence lvl of 85 aswell as att,str and hp will i be good enough to tank? or should i take prayer pots first to see how hard it is and then make the decision based on that? get rich or diee terribly funnily defending your honor against a lvl 2 man :P
Turtle_GS
Your stats should be fine for tanking. I have 80 range and 79 defence and do fine with sara coif, accumulator, black d hide top, karil's skirt, snakeskin boots, barrows gloves, and zammy book using bones to peaches. If you have bad luck and run low on peaches/bones you can use protect from range for a bit, or get two grapples (in case one breaks) out of the box and go kill some goblins. I would suggest using the best range bonus possible at first and see if that works, if you take too much damage swap out a piece for torags, obby shield, or any other better defence armor next trip. Crazykid1321
This is my personal setup, if you tank like me, you will need an Armadyl Pendant. This particular setup last me 15 hours of combat. (Due to the degrading affect of Barrows armor and weaponry) I bring a Saradomin Cape for before I enter Armadyl's Eyrie, I won't get piled, then once I enter the Eyrie, I discard the cape. After I enter the Eyrie, I discard the Mithril Grapple. The two laws are for teleporting to the Troll Stronghold, before you enter the Dungeon, equip your cape! Here are other possible setups: Keep this in mind when selecting setups: It is suggested that you have a Saradomin, Zamorak, and Armadyl item equipped while entering the Dungeon. While in the Eyrie, Armadyl and Zamorak items are essential! Remember you want to balance Ranged Attack and Ranged Defense bonuses! [hide=Equipment] Head:Torag's Helm = Guthan's Helm >> God Coif >> Armadyl Helmet >> Robin Hood Hat. Neck:Armadyl Pendant >> Amulet of Fury >> Holy Symbol >> Amulet of Glory. Back:Ava's Accumulator >> God Cape. (Zamorak or Saradomin) Body:Armadyl's Chestplate >> Blessed D'hide Body (Zamorak) >> Black D'hide Body. Legs:Torag's Platelegs >> Verac's Plateskirt >> Armadyl Legs, Black D'hide Chaps. Weapon:Rune Crossbow. Shield:Dragonfire Shield >>Granite Shield = Obsidian Shield >> Rune Kiteshield >> Unholy Book. Gloves:Barrows Gloves >> Blessed Bracers (Saradomin or Zamorak) >> Black d'hide vambraces >> Best RFD gloves. Feet:Ranger Boots >> Snakeskin Boots >> Climbing Boots. DO NOT BRING DRAGON BOOTS! Rings:Archer's Ring >> Ring of Life >> Ring of Wealth. Ammo:Broad Bolts >> Emerald Bolts (e) >> Adamant Bolts. Broad bolts are highly recommended! compfreak847
Range defence is overrated. My personal setup: Sara Coif Fury Steel arrows Accumulator Black d hide top Black d hide bottom Rune Knives Zammy book Ranger\snakeskin boots Archer's ring\Ring of life Barrows Gloves Invo: Range pots, alching runes, healing method of your choice Works great for me, I can last around 20-25 hours if I don't use range pots. I now use a faster weapon, though. Rune knives hit too many zeros, and I started to lose kills every now and then. I personally use prayer potions and +10% range; the money is about the same, the hassle is slightly higher, but the XP is also slightly higher and it helps out hit anyone else. Void isn't worth it there, though. I can kill around 250 an hour, depending on how closely I'm paying attention. At a cost of roughly 500 GP per avansie (the GP), each addy bar is pure profit, so 2.2k per kill, meaning 550k profit and ~64k XP\hour. I've yet to see a better method with low risk. If low on cash, use the setup posted earlier in this thread without the ranger boots. That's very true, but bringing alone super defence pots\Excalibur can take care of a lot of that. You will be OWNING them with a huge range bonus, rune knives, and +10% pray, getting you tons of bones. Lower defence could swap out a g shield\zammy d hide top, but I don't see it that necessary. Other then that, anyone with 70+ range or defence should be able to use it. I have a few questions though. Do you kill them inside or outside the fortress? If you kill them outside, do you hop a lot for an empty world or do you just outhit them? Also, would obby rings be better than rune knives? They seem good to me, but I have no idea if they're actually buyable.

They're buyable, but are on the expensive side and fire significantly slower then rune knives with not much of a max hit boost. I would recommend killing them outside, without anything of armadyl (unless you want to buy a plate, but its still dropping so I wouldn't recommend it) you'll get destroyed. And yeah, you should be able to out hit anyone - find a world with only a couple of people, and you can pretty much attack any avansie. Deathmath
Obby rings are hard to buy and are quite a lot more expensive. I don't think the max hit is much higher... Rune knives hit high as it is. Box098
Yes, your stats are good for aviancies. Go with arma pendant, torag helm and legs, zamorak d'hide body, saradomin vambs. Rune c' bow, broad bolts, dragon boots, best shield you have for range def. (granite shield). No prayer, bring sharks and BTP (bones to peaches) tabs to last longer. That's basicly it, they drops these addy bars (4 noted), can't tell you money per hour, because it varries. Good luck.
