King_Ankh
Well, I was training at ice giants today when I saw someone training with a rune long. I've always used a rune scim, but I saw him hit pretty hard and often. My combat stats are 78 attack, 79 strength, 75 defence, and 78 hp. Which one would be better given my stats? Also, would it be wiser to use an amulet of power or an amulet of strength? Thanks for all your help in advance :)
rukano
scimitar wins. not 100% sure about the amulet but i would use power.
Umoria
Scimitar wins. Hits faster. Also I would prefer the power ammy. A Strength ammy gives you +10 str bonus But the power ammy gives +6 in all attack and defence, +6 strength, +1 prayer (if u use any) "We had gay burglars the other night. They broke in and rearranged the furniture."
SHIELZZZ69
Use scimitar for weapon and if you can use a rune berserker shield that is charged, it is way better than a rune kite and 50 tokens to recharge takes about 15 minutes. Amulet of Strength gives you another max hit over a power. 99 Strength Achieved 26/9/08. L0L in 3 years I've made 7m. In the past 2 days I've made 7.2m on top of that thanks to Bounty Hunter. So why play for 3 years when you can do that?
Sinkhan
Use scimitar for weapon and if you can use a rune berserker shield that is charged, it is way better than a rune kite and 50 tokens to recharge takes about 15 minutes. Amulet of Strength gives you another max hit over a power. A berserker only gives +1 def in every field and +4 strength. I really don't think it's really worth it if you're serious about training and don't want to have to get tokens for a recharge. I would go with the power. In some cases, the strength amulet won't add anything to your max hit more than a power would, and the power gives you a nice accuracy AND defence boost. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
ilovecuttingyews
ARMOUR Full Rune Rune Gauntlets (you need to charge them but they dont degrade) SOS Boots Amulet Of Power Lumby Ring (3) WEAPON Rune Scimitar INVENTORY A few strength potions Placeholders for runes etc. The rest should be swordfish (lobs are alright, but swordies let you stay there as long as you can)
Sinkhan
I would recommend anchovy pizzas instead. Since you're training on a set monster, you won't have to really fear any huge hits so the two bite aspect won't be much of a factor. It's greatest advantage is that pizzas heal 18 vs the swordfishes 14.. Anchovy pizzas are also cheaper than swordies (almost the same as lobs even I think) the last time I checked. Yomyth105
wat the other posters said was right. just standard rune with new gloves in ge/ sos boots/ and rune scimmy is imo the best. the only thing u can debate is which weapon and which ammy. i personally choose scimmy because it is slightly faster than a longsword and stronger and for the rest its just faster. but hey. some ppl like baxe. another debate is between str ammy and power ammy. its basically like this. would u like a higher hit by 1 (which is helpful)? if yes then str ammy. Would u like a little bit in everything however ur max hit doesnt go up? then power my preference is rune scimmy and str ammy because i believe than runescape is pretty much luck. i dont believe that extra 6 in each catagory is that helpful. id rather just take str ammy because i am certain that i will be hitting harder. its ur choice tho for those 2 spots. SHIELZZZ69
If powers are so good why do you see all meleers in bh with strength ammys on? Also the rune berserker shield gives better defence than a kite. I can do over 200k xp with a berserker shield before it runs out of charges. Your ethier training for xp or training for drops, anchovy pizzas are best food. 99 Strength Achieved 26/9/08. L0L in 3 years I've made 7m. King_Ankh
Thanks a lot for all your advice guys! I'm definitely sticking to a scim then as that seems the general consensus, and I'll try out the berserker shield since I do tend to do FoG quite a bit. I might as well try out both ammies and see which one works out better since there are mixed opinions on that issue. Once again, thanks a lot for all your help! BiJay
If powers are so good why do you see all meleers in bh with strength ammys on? Because they don't care on defense and already have a high strength. In this case str ammy fits better. If you don't need much defense or attack bonuses choose str ammy (flesh crawlers). Otherwise a power ammy is the best (ice giants). [404] Signature not found.
Uninstall
at your stats and training at ice giants i would say use a rune scimmy and strenght ammy because the def and att bonus from power ammy doesn't make a big differnce at ice giants

ramosplash
Rune platebody, rune platelegs/skirt, rune full helm, rune kiteshield (or rune berserker shield from FoG if you play that), power amulet (or strength amulet), rune scimitar, SoS boots, green dragonhide vambraces (or rune gauntlets from FoG) And, rune scimitar is better than a rune longsword.
