I just barely started training my slayer, ha ha, I know its kinda sad. Ive been doing all Duradel tasks and so far more than half of my tasks the best method to kill the monster has been using prayer pots.

 

 

 

As you might have guessed, the cost of these pots are really adding up. I've got a good 3-4m cash in bank, so I'm not extremely low, but eventually all of these pots are gonna catch up to me.

 

 

 

So, I was wondering what the best way to fund my slaying would be.

 

Should I just cross my fingers for good drops or is there anything else I can be doing to make money while slaying.

 

 

 

And before you suggest it, I dont have the farming level for snaps :(

 

Is 62 farming worth getting before I start going all out slayer, because if there are no other methods of profit, then I probably should.

Slayer Mask - buy it for tasks.

 

 

 

Nature+Fire Runes= ALCH all items from drops that is worth alching

 

 

 

And i don't think it's sad to have low level in slayer. You do what you need.

Im definitely using a slayer mask, dont worrry about that, doesn't really help my p pot problem tho.

It will as you get past 65+ slayer. But for now i think you should invest cash in some nessecary resources such as prayer pots (buy only if u need).

 

 

 

At 190 abertant spectre task i tend to earn 400K+: so that earns lots cash back for me ;) ;) ;)

 

 

 

There is other monsters such as spectres that helps you get cash back, you just need to get some lvls up :mrgreen:

Efficiency wise, theres still a pretty big difference... but it's definetely better to use Cannon.

Yeah i know waht you mean. I meant that even without cannon the exp is not so bad that you will be like "Darn...i wish i had a cannon" :lol:

I like to consider myself an experienced Slayer, so here's a few things to consider...

 

 

 

At your level, you wont be making profit using the most efficient methods, such as a cannon, piety, etc.

 

 

 

If you need extra cash, you don't have to farm Snaps. Kwuarms, Ranarrs, even Toadflax works well. Toadflax will pay for a lot of Prayer Potions, but go with the higher level herbs if you can.

 

 

 

At 80 Slayer, I use a cannon as often as possible, and I always use super sets. I also use Prayer Potions on all of my tasks. I usually use Superhuman Strength, but I use Piety pretty often too.

 

 

 

Doing this, I make a very small profit. I spend most of my money on Cannonballs and Prayer Potions.

 

 

 

I think that if you farm Ranarrs and use MTK, you can easily fund your slaying. When you get into the 60's and 70's, you'll be able to remain self sufficient at the very least.

Pah, there's really no need for all the equipment people are talking about on this thread. Yes, a cannon is nice and all, but frankly, the xp is fine without it as well, since the cannonable monsters aren't exactly the big toughies either.

 

 

 

As suggested, you could use super sets or combat pots to have your prayer pots last longer, and they're not that costly anymore, so that shouldn't be a problem.

 

 

 

You could also change masters. Sumona is an underrated, but great master. I've stuck to her all the way to 99 slayer and I've made a bucketload of money. She assigns heaps of not too difficult herb- and seed-dropping monsters. And that's where the money is at the moment. You'll find that even some of the easiest slayer monsters are worth their while, with all the seeds and pure essence they drop.

I didn't even have a guthan till I hit slayer 80. I didn't use a cannon till I hit 88. I still don't have 68 summoning at 90 slayer (soon 91).

 

 

 

Just pick up everything of value and alch what is alchable when you are doing your task. I.e. everything above the nature rune value.

 

 

 

Actually, after a few slayer tasks you usually end up with more nats than you started. Try it. Put 100 nats in your inventory and 500 fires. Never remove them. See how many you have after 10 tasks. I usually have a lot more. Despite alching more than is dropped on some tasks. It all adds up.

 

 

 

Slayer task assignments are a tricky business. Sometimes you keep getting the same lousy tasks. But don't despair. The bad streak will end.

 

 

 

The drops during slayer generally pay for everything, unless you use expensive equipment such as a cannon. It's easy to blow away a few million with a cannon.

 

 

 

And once you can hit abberrant specters or even better, nechryaels you are home free. The last ones drop a lot of seeds. I have 500 super restore pots still in my bank from their seed drops.

 

 

 

Make sure you have a Holy Wrench in your inventory during pray tasks. And try out flashing prayer. It's quite easy in most cases. Sometimes they hit you, and you stop for a while if the food runs out. But once your HP is back up again you start flashing again.

 

 

 

I pray the following tasks:

 

Black demons

 

Metal dragons (I melee them)

 

Abberant specters sometimes (I actually just use food nowadays and black d-hide. I hop between castlewars and the slayer tower with slayer ring and duelling ring, banking the herbs and getting new low-level food).

 

Spiritual mages.

Wouldn't farming rannars, and making the pots yourself be an option? If we only focus on the pots that is.

Complete all Clue scrolls, and when fighting things like Black Dragons, take a few trips to bank the hides/bones to help cover the costs.

try ranging tasks that would use prayer potions. ex the only tasks i still pray on are abby specs and dagannoth

I mined tin to 99 mining, that makes me great.

 

 

 

Sumona is underrated, but she is worse than Duradel. Not to mention all her tasks are "cannonable" so if your not cannoning, more reason not to use her...

 

 

 

Should you bother with expensive equipment? No. They increase your experience by a measly 1 or 2 %. But a cannon ... anyways, anybody can make enough money/hour to make it an efficient method.

What tasks do you have blocked? The only tasks that are a money sink for me are / were or use prayer:

 

 

 

Black demons if you dont pray flash. if you flash its profitable

 

 

 

Abberants with a cannon, though can break even very often, sometimes gain profit. These are horridly slow without cannon tbh.

 

 

 

Metals/black drags I all have blocked and i reccomend you to as well. Its junk exp, slow long tasks. Drops are barely worth anything these days and I definately would not count on a visage ever at metals

 

 

 

I have sugahs, warped monsters, scarabites all blocked by quests atm. no knowledge on them

 

 

 

Waterfiends, gain you money even with ppots

 

 

 

Mithril drags. Different category then other metals imo, but they are a money loss basically. I don't have em blocked but I may skip them time to time.

 

 

 

Dags if you cannon. Without cannon its still fast exp but nearly as fast

 

 

 

Dark beasts? no knowledge on them atm

 

 

 

Wyverns. You dont pray these and usually you profit, or great profit. insane crimsons reguardless

 

 

 

Mages - usually get boots often enough to profit well

 

 

 

 

 

Ive made many 10s of millions off slayer, just make sure you are doing the tasks properly I guess.

Seeing as how I just started slayer, I don't really have the points to block any tasks yet. But once I do get enough points I know which ones Im going to block.

Last task I had 120k in alched stuff + coin pickups. A d med (!) (sold on GE for 61+K). 3 rannars. And some other high level herbs.

 

 

 

And I used 10 prayer pots. And a few superpots.

 

 

 

And this was without a RoW. Previous task I had 200k in coins in my inventory after finishing it.

 

 

 

I never lost money on black Demons. Flash pray a bit if you must, and when you get bored, just put prayer on and surf a bit. If it goes all pearshaped I end up even.

 

 

 

Best charm dropper it seems though, if you do them in the chaos tunnels.

i averaged 1 rune drop per 150 black demons

I farm rannars and hen buy the snape grass just cause I usually need ppots in a hurry and cant be bothered by collecting the grass.

 

 

 

Also you might want to try a lower leveled slayer mast and use Duradel for the 10th and 50th tasks. Just IMO

After a while your profits will outweigh your costs. Just stick with it, you wont lose much if any.
