Leu
Hey all, I'm wondering what your views are on the members system used in Runescape. As a F2Per, I feel that an Item Mall, such as the ones used in many other MMORPG's, would work out better than the current members system. Please post your views. Ezz
I think it's fine, F2p works sort of like a demo for the main game which is P2p. And what exactly is an item mall? That you buy items for real life money? If so, I don't think that would work out very well at all with this economy. [insert birds flying in a circle here]Yes, that sig was annoying. Giordano
What the hell? Members gives you 5 times the land area of F2P. Not to mention all the extra stuff you can do. The members' system is the best, logical way for Jagex to get money. There's no way to get any simplier. You want more, pay more. Owned_Nex
Well, its either somewhere where there are alot of shops, or where you can buy items for real money. Dungeoneering isn't a skill. Zierro
It depends. If it was only like discontinued items and new novelty items, then I don't see much of a problem. But if people could buy stuff like food, potions, materials, armor, and weapons then that would probably cause tons of problems not only for the economy but the whole game in general. Skull
Jagex wants Runescape to be equal for everyone, not dependent on real life status. That means no buying items. [bleep] the law, they can eat my dick that's word to Pimp
Will H
For those who do not know, an Item Mall is simply a system where you pay real money for virtual items in the game. Oh, then absolutely no way. The economy would implode again, and the work you do in the game is devalued because you could have just paid for it. ~ W ~
Alg
Could buy items, or you could have your money go towards more land, skills, quests, etc. It probably wouldn't work with Runescape at this point. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
Owned_Nex
For those who do not know, an Item Mall is simply a system where you pay real money for virtual items in the game. Well, in that case I must disagree. I don't think how much money someone spends should determine how good a player is. This would crash the economy, and destory RS Dungeoneering isn't a skill. funnisam
i would like to point out that the rs economy is very unstable at this point in time. having an item mall would make it even harder to get items as people would charge cash for those rare and new items, or those that very few people can make atm. so no, definetly not a good idea. pureprayer
I played a game with an item mall once. Never bought anything. I had full access to all the land and monsters. Anyway the items were for show like a "cooler" armor or weapon. I got so mad at the game i played on a server where i got a "free" Item mall Pureprayer, you're awesome. Danno385
That is stupid. I am a f2per and if members was just more items the price and amount of people that join would decrease. On club peangiun it is just more items and if it was like that on runescape they would be on the same level. In fact, I do have some pancake mix. Dire_Wolf
I got a something for all those who think buying virtual items ingame for real money is good or sounds good: WHAT KIND OF WORLD DO YOU LIVE IN?!!! runedude8666
Yes possibly, but just for rare items... But If people wanted to say buy items in bulk...
time_wast0r
Item malls ruin games, before playing this i used to play Conquer Online a lot, but quit a year ago, as they introduced an update allowing any player with a big enough wallet to get the best gear without any effort, sure i bought a few things from there, but people spend 10k USD maxing their account out, they even brought out an update to level your character with buyable items and offline training. Sure members do level faster, but the price is very small, and after all a 99 takes a bloody long time! I'm at Karamja ranging lessers... if I don't kill him in time people run underneath my foe and steel my arrows. Why! Have some decency and let me finish off the monster and get my arrows that I earned you PIG! Otherwise i have to run out to grab my arrows, get hit, and go back.. and guess what!, by then they stole my lesser! BASTARD! 100% P2P
Dignity
For those who do not know, an Item Mall is simply a system where you pay real money for virtual items in the game. The second I read that I know Jagex is going to say no.Why well theres so many things I could say, and ain't this just like RWT, pay real money for virtual items? url=http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=112&t=760822]Click to join the War of Glory! 100 archers versus 100 warriors![/url][hide=Unraked Stats]14 Summoning1 Hunter37 WoodCutting33 FireMaking1 Construction26 Theiving1 RuneCrafting45 Mining1 Smithing18 Fishing18 Cooking1 Farming22 Herblore[/hide]
warren211
This game is meant to be different from other games with such malls. The developers said during the RWT fight that they did not ever want real world wealth to affect status in game. Providing certain items to be bought for real money only leads to those with loads of real world cash (or daddy's credit card) to be massively ahead of other players. Besides, it leads to unwise spending, and there are plenty of no-lifers who would gladly spend thousands of dollars getting everything the best. Long before the RWT updates, there used to be a very famous pker who spent thousands of dollars on hundreds of white p hats and would go pking in them. Do we really want such a thing happening again? [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.[/hide]Apparently a lot of people say it. I own. http://linkagg.com/ Not my site, but a simple, budding site that links often unheard-of websites that are amazing for usefulness and fun. LinovUSA
Lets hope this topic doesnt make another f2p vs p2p war :ohnoes: I honestly have no idea what you mean by Item-Mall.
Drags8696
personaly i completely disagree with this and if this were to happen then the trade limit whould no longer have a purpose. This is because real world trading was basicaly a item mall where u got bulk itmes and chould sell them then or use them and if jagex had the best prices, and they should cause they can make all the gp and items they want, then rwt whould be a bad investment for ppl. Some people whould like this but it realy serves no purpose in any mmorpg or anyother game other than that it just gives to the rw rich and not to the poor. Words are only interpertaions of opinions. highlanders
F2p games with cash shop is generally for crappier games, not commercial-quality, less polished. RS is p2p quality. And cash shops screw the games economies, its best to avoid them. 2480+ total
hzwquy
For those who do not know, an Item Mall is simply a system where you pay real money for virtual items in the game. Let me get this straight at this "item mall thye would sell rare items right? so then for example they sell phats if one person is really rich and buys like 5 or 10 party hats guess what will happen -.- it will kill the rs economy
