i am really angry about the loss of pking , i ahve just started again as i have heard roumers of there being pk world like ther old wildy can any one post if they have heard the same or know what is happening

The old loot system where you can kill a player in the Wilderness and get their drops has changed to prevent RWT from getting too out of hand. The closest thing to that now is Bounty Hunter. And now Jagex is working on the PVP Update where there are servers in which you can attack anywhere on the Runescape map, except for a few 'safe spots'. The reward system still sounds different than the Wildy though.

Alright, this is the example:

 

 

 

You are player A wearing full bandos and bgs. Player B is wearing full Verac's, Elysian shield and a whip/ags.

 

You are both lvl 138.

 

Player A kills player B.

 

Player A does not receive full verac's, elysian shield, whip, and ags.

 

Player A instead receives full Zarosian armor (made-up items) as a drop.

 

Zarosian armor is untradeable and is only obtainable through pvp.

 

 

 

All of player B's items are gone, lost in the dark abyss of java code, never to be seen or heard from again, like blue party hats.

 

 

 

This update will decrease the surplus of end-game content while giving players an incentive to risk it. If the pvp specific armor was only useful on pvp worlds, then the prices of armor and weapons would sky rocket. If the pvp armor was universal, then the prices would rise and then plummet because many people would have Zarosian armor.

Thats what i thought it would be. But...jagex said "pking will once again be a viable source for income" telling me that these items will be tradable?

Pking will NEVER come back like it was.

 

 

 

This pvp update will be totally different, mostly to eliminate RWT. So best off just to bide your time and see what comes. We know no more than anyone else.

Agreed, I think it's better to have un-tradable rewards, or tokens/credit of some sort. Otherwise, we're just inviting a whole new bunch of problems into to the where they're not needed. :)

i think that there will be one huge pvp world 1 for f2p and one for members. there will be normal drops and jagex is hoping that there will be enough players in the pvp world to disrupt and kind of item transferring. there r still flaws with this but hopefully jagex will fix these. again this is just my opinion.

Considering how many people would go to pk there, i think that 1 world wouldn't be enough, especially for p2p.

Or, like most people, take care over what you type and present to others. I don't use Mozilla Firefox, and have absolutely no trouble whatsoever stringing a sentence together. Besides, that's not the topic of the thread. The problem at-hand is that somebody refuses to accept Jagex's choices, here's a little something I stumbled across a few days ago. If you are still unsure as to why Jagex made these changes, read the following (if you're lazy - skip to 4.)

 

 

 

"1. It wasnt fair on other players who had to work for their cash while the lazy players got it for almost nothing.

 

2. Bots swamped all the trees, rocks and fishing spots making it slower for the real players.

 

3. Member bots were paid for with stolen credit cards and the banks were going to stop their branch with Jagex because of the amount of stolen money going to Jagex

 

4. Jagex were losing money because they were having to repay the owners of the stolen credit cards, they were losing so much money they might have gone bankrupt and Runescape would have closed down entirely which would mean no pking anyway

 

5. Legitimate players would have no longer been allowed to pay with credit cards, which would have been the vast majority.

 

6. Much of the hacking and scamming was done to fuel the money sold to the gold buyers.

 

7. Much of Jagexs staff were being directed entirely to stopping it. This meant that there were less updates that players might actually enjoy like quests and new skills.

 

8. Players would find the game too easy if they were able to get skills to 99 and rare armour with no trouble. Theyd get bored very quickly and quit.

 

9. The bots created a huge supply with the items they produced, lowering the prices and making it harder for legitimate players to earn money through skilling."

If these PvP world specific items will make PKing a "viable source of income", I assume that they are tradeable...
