chenw
tanking doesnt work unless your def is higher, like 90's high, hence why its called a tank. 70 def only allows you to wear armor. Mage armor i can think of for MAGES is mystic if you want cost efficiency, but that leaves you even more vulnerable. The only armor I can think of that is decent for both defence and magic attack is ahrims, every other choice have critical failures. 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. Lets_3ekout
As said, tanking with 70 def while maging is iffy. What you could do is get mystic armour, a DFS and make sure that protect item always keeps your DFS. Splitbark armour might give you a bit more defence I suppose, but I dont have much experience with it TBH. If not, you could try a rune chain, rune kite, mystic bottom. That *might* work, but it sacrifices accuracy which mages heavily rely on. You should look at getting that defence level up though. Boeg3
as i'm a pure i'm looking to raise my range from 83-90 and then my mage from 82-94 but, just asking, why should i train my defence up, lv 70 i can weild everything? heres why: yes, 70 def is enough to wear the best amour. But ur still gonna get hit alot, because your def is 70. you cant tank with 70 def (i dont know i u can in barrows melee amour, but doesnt concern u anyway since ur ganne range/mage)
obfuscator
if your looking to mage tank i suppose you could try torags legs, ahrims top, and a good sheild...but imo your def is much too low "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
Sinkhan
Yeah like others have said, 70 defence is actually rather low. Just because you can wear fancy stuff like barrows doesn't mean you're a tank. In fact in some other games like RS, you'd be referred to as a paper ranger, getting the minimum defence for the best armour and then going pure ranged. 90s are for a range tank. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug

RayOxide
75 for dfs. Wicked money and training if you get one (green drags) while charging for an explosive attack on your opponent asap. But 90+ is almost necessary for a good tank, but it raises cb a bit. I dont need a siggy no moar.
