They normally last roughly 2 weeks so if it was this week it would finish the first full week of November.
October 20, 200817 yr Well I pked for a couple of days. Also messed around with my friends a few times too. So far I lost 4 rune defenders, fire cape, ahrims, karils, verac's skirt + guthan's platebody, a rune set, a whip, a couple dboots, and a couple glories... about 4m worth? However, I've pked a Ring of Stone, Dragon Sq Shield, etcetera. I even pked a Dragon Halberd and Rune Gauntlets off a no-itemer who was 126, lol (he told me and purposely let me kill him). I even killed my friend twice for 75k each time -- in total I got 800k in loot from him, only the apprentice wand was unsellable -- and thats still the only loot I have not been able to sell or wanted to keep. In total, I've pked over 4m. No untradables or new items yet, though. But I've basically earned back what I've lost. I've noticed a lot of tactics. One thing that probably will be fixed is the fact that theres a multicombat lure right by the grand exchange and many clans have been doing this. Multicombat starts 1 step south of the ditch, so people are freezing others that are running to the Grand Exchange and using Dragon Spear to spec them into multi. The reason multicombat starts there is because before the ditch, wilderness started at that spot, if I'm not mistaken. Soooo many items are going up again. Barrow's is really profitable, fishing is very profitable, etcetera... its become crazy. I might have to start barrowing again, lol. Started free trade with 1.5m cash. 2 weeks later, have hit max cash 2x. PvP drops: 359 Brawling Gloves, 11 Vesta's Longswords, 41+ Zaros/Ancient Statues9 Dragon Full Helms, 3 Dragonfire Shields on the old PvP loot system Brawler guide is being finished!
October 21, 200817 yr I posted this in the Hidden Updates sticky (as it was a hidden update) but I feel it's worth posting here as well... Well with the introduction of PvP worlds it seems they let a major boo-boo slip through where if you attacked someone who was outside the wilderness while you were in it, it would make the animation of you hitting them but no damage would appear (not even 0s) yet you would still get xp for whatever invisible amount you hit them. This was a major flaw because it allowed for extremely high xp rates for melee, range and magic...all while being able to completely afk. Example: Person A stands outside of wild by 1 step, person B is in the wild wearing full dharok, gets down to under 10 hp, and just pounds away on person A nonstop (literally nonstop). Same can go for chinning a group of 9 players...and since xp per hit is higher for other players than npcs, the possible rates per hour were quite ridiculous with brawling gloves (400k+/hr for melee and 1.2m+/hr with range). Now that I've cleared up how it was upon the release of PvP worlds, it has now been changed so that you will deal damage even if they are outside the wild and you are in. My main concern behind this is that this was not a bug in the programming, in fact things were working exactly the way they programmed them to - unfortunately that was the programming for the old wilderness and they completely overlooked it when doing this. Another concern is that had they decided to make the wild start immediately after the ditch and then simply made it so that you cannot attack over the ditch, it would not have been adjusted this quickly, and those who happened upon it at the only location where it goes from wild to nonwild without a ditch would have had a field day with exploiting it. Yes it was a huge update with countless places for potential flaws, but this was a result of not consulting the ones who designed the old wilderness versus diving into unknown waters. I guess I'm a little frustrated too since it reminded me of my beloved Zilyana safe spot, and I try not to think about that anymore. :P May the presents of our lord and savior, Santa, be with you this holiday season!First annual Clausmas - 2009 December 25
October 21, 200817 yr You can fix the drops but it requires 2 friends and quite a small sum of money (you need to drop 75K). Basically, P1 never dies (P2 always does). P2 must take 4 Scimitars (rune, rounded down) and repeatedly die to P1. P1 must fight P3 (after a few kills) P1 must win. Bobs your uncle, keep repeating that (the more P's you have the better) and you'll eventually get a decent drop, profiting on. i tried this and you only need to drop 25k but attacker must be holding 75k my friend dropped one d mace Check it out, huge amount of effort has gone into this massive mod![hide=old sig][/hide]
October 21, 200817 yr Lol fishy, are you actually using a rubber chicken? XD Yeah I had my friend kill me for 25k about 6 times... his total loot was about 150k maybe at most. He hadn't killed like anyone before me though. He had been in a hotzone for like an hour at least. I killed him like twice for 25k, first time I get about 200k loot and the second time I get nothing. I kill lots of no itemers and apparently the more kills you get in a PvP world, according to jagex, the better chance you have of getting loot. Could explain why I get so much for killing my friends for junk, lol. Think my favorite kill right now has to be the almost 2 hit on someone -- I hit 42, 34, 1 with whip, got rune chain and combat bracelet(4). lol. I was like ya... gf. Almost had a sara sword (36, 38) then got pjed... The multi lure near the GE is pretty much dumb. Barrage then 4 specs to get them into multi... that uses up about 15 seconds of the barrage and if you don't all one hit the guy its messed up. Plus usually the guy has time to tab. I saw one guy almost get lured for fire cape, full rune, gs, and dboots... somehow made it out. I was like LOL... that fails... and that wasn't the first to make it out. You just get so much time to tab, and if they tb you you'll have time to run before the barrage freeze is up. If they dspear spec you while you're running it has like no effect and it messes them up. Basically the multi lure at GE fails quite badly. I see so many clans trying it and failing... and not only that, so many clans just get one itemed when they do it. They get annoyed and leave usually in the end. and if you become a victim of it, just tab or run. You'll have time. I saw Vesta's Longsword in action in a .gif earlier... it destroys. I'm seeing more and more items being used for pking... seen that new staff being used then the guy switching to normal gear... Chessy018 with a new staff for her 3a range outfit (go figure), new javelin, etc. They're all amazing. Started free trade with 1.5m cash. 2 weeks later, have hit max cash 2x.
