What other bands would I like if I'm a big fan of Jamiroquai?

 

 

 

It's such a unique sounding band that there really isn't much like it out there. You know the kinda up beat jazzie-funk-pop.

You're right in saying there aren't too many other bands that sound like Jamiroquai.

 

 

 

If you like the funk element then the Red Hot Chili Peppers would be a good listen, songs like Tell Me Baby and Can't Stop.

 

 

 

Other bands that are a in a similar vein would be:

 

Booker T and the MG's (their song Green Onions is one of my favourites)

 

James Brown

 

The Chemcial Brothers

 

Moby

 

Petshop Boys

 

Massive Attack

You should definitely try Jestofunk's Universal Mother album.

 

jazz-funk-dub-electronic-soul all in one album, great album.

 

I've heard their other albums,this one is their best imo.

Care to name a few? I'm not going to say there aren't other artists out there that are similar, that would be stupid. However, half of them would probably be ex Jamiroquai cover-bands, and the other half would just be... crap.

Well, the irony of your statement is that it's already been posted above: plenty of popular bands which sound similar or the same. Wouldn't you rather listen to something completely different?

I've only got one suggestion that I think's somewhat along the lines of their style: The Brand New Heavies. Kinda jazzy hip-hop sound. Give 'em a listen.

Cyco, people have been mostly posting funk bands, not bands that necessarily sound like Jamiroquai. There've been about two suggested that actually sound similar to them. Read pl0x? ;)

Okay, yeah, slight overexaggeration there, I must admit. :P And I didn't say he had to, it was just a polite suggestion, he can choose to ignore it if he wishes, but variety is the spice of life. AND I LIKE LIFE SPICY HOT!!!

Are there grindcore bands that DON'T sound the same? I was under the impression that there weren't.

I was under the impression people who performed Grindcore weren't classed as a "band".
