Specture Question

pureprayer

Recommended Posts

Ok I am new to the idea of Abberent Spectures and I want to know how to kill them. I know you use prayer and pick up the herbs or something like that but can someone make me a mini-guide (no pics needed or anything) on how to kill them?

Also I am planning to melee them.

What drops do I pick up?

Just bring your best d'hide armor or armor with high mage defense, sup sets (or zammy brews), and monkfish if you plan to melee without use of prayer.

Don't bother using guthans, you'll be hit too often while tryinig to heal. If you're praying, you won't need it anyway.

Bring 8-15 prayer pots, a couple of monks (in case you get hit here and there), alch runes or lumby ring (since it has a +1 prayer bonus too) and the holy wrench. The best armor for you would be the highest level prayerrobes you can wear, like proselyte or initiate.

Not d'hide, proselyte for the prayer bonus. You should pray the entire time you're fighting one.

Personally, I feel that the Proselyte Prayer method is better overall.

Guthans will not work because a nosepeg/slayer helm is needed to fight because Aberrants will lower your stats significantly.

8-15 P Pots seem about right, along with holy wrench, super set, and maybe 2 emergency food.

My best advice for an abberant task is:

Cannon them in the slayer well

Wear prosy

Pick up all ranarr and kwuarm herbs. Runefull/lava staff/mystic robe/ good seeds/ clues and charms

bring a terrorbird and you should have enough room for all of those drops on your task. drops will cover cannonballs

Wait a second, 59/60 slayer? are you boosting your slayer for spectres? That's a no no, they aren't good exp, or drops really. Not a lot of charms, and nothing besides herbs.

They're really not that bad, if you have decent stats like 70-75+, and you use some super sets or a slayer mask. Just wear a nose peg/slayer mask, use prosy top and bottom, a fire cape if you have one, or a god cloak, a prayer book if you have all the pages or a defender. For the boots just wear dragon and gloves just wear barrows or your best.

Like I said they're not that horrible if you get lucky with drops. Plus they drop [bleep]ing [cabbage]LOADS of herbs, you can expect to see ALOT of ranarr drops and also double ranarr drops from 1 spectre.

Salve amulet (e), or Slayer mask only! (Nosepeg is a must)

You won't need more than 5 Prayer potion per inventory (save room for herb drops), if you do pray (proselyte). Don't make the mistake of taking too many Prayer potions, and fill your inventory before you do Prayer potions. It'll just be a waste of a herb space. :)

Prayer probably isn't needed after 80 defense and magic. Just use Karil's and a mage shield. Bunyip too if you can, but again, no Guthan's.

I swap freely betwene d'hide and proselyte armor and with 80 def (black d'hide and god coif) I don't get hit too often, and I use zammy brews ...

I pick up all herbs from kwarm+. Anything that's worth more than 2k. IF you get plenty of ranarrs though I don't see why you shouldn't drop :D

Bring enough food that you'll run out of food, at around the same time you fill your inventory (with drops, herbs) to bank.. I usually bring like 6 Pineapple pizzas, which is enough. Thats only 132 HP healed. At lower levels, bring more food. Not too hard to understand?

Abberant Spectres

There are 3 ways to do this:

-Slayer Tower w/ Karils and Food

-Slayer Tower w/ Magic Prayer

-Polly Well w/ Magic Prayer and Cannon.

I recommend the third since it is very very fast and the herbs just about cover costs.

For the first, just use any set up you would for bloodvelds or jellies

The second and third bring Prossy and 12-15 prayer pots. You may also want to flip on superhuman strength. If you are cannoning, bring cannon stuff.

Using a Macaw greatly increases profit.
