The staff already forced you to lose a shield, as well as completely prohibiting god spells (so useless to modern magic) and no autocast for ancients. The strength drain is nice, but the cost in everything else has always been too high, so it never got used.

I see Karil top and body out a lot, it's like required Castle Wars gear. I've had my set for ages and I don't plan on selling it anytime soon.

December 9, 200817 yr Neither do I. My ranged is my only non-max combat skill and even with a measly 79 range I'll beat any mage in a 1v1.

December 10, 200817 yr Karil's skirt/body is great for slayer. It's basically cheap mage defense making loads of tasks easier, including Waterfiends, Bloodveld, Infernal Mages, Abby Spectres, Scrabites and Mithril Dragons. The coif and set effect is junk yes, and the bow is only semi-usful with the introduction of crossbows. Like someone said the only decent part of the set effect was to trap noobs in the Wildy agilty course for an easy kill. However nowadays most Wildy agility trainers use a non-PvP world and all they ever carried back in the day was an inven full of cakes. Trust the Gene Genie!

December 13, 200817 yr You could say that Karil's is a tanking set of armor with high damage output. It's as fast as a msb for pete's sake, it SHOULD be less accurate. The armor has good magic defense, but I think it sacrifices melee defense for that, though I'm not sure. It's good armor, but when compared to the degree of other barrows armor, it pales in comparison.

December 13, 200817 yr Top + Bottom = Great for pking and high risk environments. Xbow, good for CW if you feel like spending the cash (basically a C bow 8/10 that hits at around MSB speed). Coif..... coif..... *toss in garbage can* :roll:
December 13, 200817 yr the karil top is useful because it provides great mage def without being to expensive. Also it is used for godwars. For the bow its gd only for fight caves and maybe pking. The skirt and coif are useless.

December 19, 200817 yr I like Karils X bow, it is very fast and when you get over 90+ range and pot up, it is amazingly accurate. And what are you guys talking about dragon crossbows?! The rune ones are already dishing out 50's...

If you look at black dragonhide and karils, the only difference and mage defense (and melee defense, which karils has less of). ~It's Super Effective!
