Chance of getting banned?

Featured Replies

I am from one country but recently have been on a holiday overseas. Can I play my account without Jagex thinking I have been hacked and banning my account because of different isp's etc.?

Thanks.

I think you should be ok.

I think Jagex only monitors accounts if there's an excessive change in IP addresses.

If you log in one or two times from a different, oversea's IP address, I don't think it'll set off any alarms.

Whenever I would vacation in a different state, I would log on to check out my character, and I never had any problems with Jagex thinking I was hacked.

Nah, it won't be a problem. I played on different PCs in different states or countrys and had never a problem with it. They will only look at it if you logged in on different IPs in a short time range. Imagine someone logs on in the UK and one hour later someone uses the same account in the USA - that would be something Jagex would look at.

Jagex really doesn't look at it at all unless you confess to it ingame and are reported. I know lots of people who have shared accounts for a bit and never gotten in trouble.

My friend Drivier went to Korea, logged in over there and started playing the same as he had not in Korea

Then, his account was banned because Jagex thought that it was either stolen or sold

It has been over six months and his account is still disabled.

So yes, you might get banned

Are you sure he was banned because of this reason? I'm looking for more opinions on this. It seems so risky yet I want to play.

And thats slow times. Jagex does not care, period.

You should be fine. I log into my account from a few different places(mom's, dad's, friend's) and have not gotten banned for it. I don't think they can ban you for that either...but I could be wrong.

Yes, 100% sure that is the reason because that is what Jagex said directly to him

They said they had to confirm it was truly him and then the account would be reactivated, but it never happened

I believe he also got married, so I do not think he looked into it much past that :)

That's probably because Jagex hates Korean goldfarmers, bots, etc. The Koreas are famous for their gold farmers. Jagex banned thousands of macroer accounts with IPs based in Korea for that reason (RWT) and hey, I don't blame them for banning accounts from a whole country like that. They probably just thought your friend's account had been taken over by a Korean gold farmer.

tl;dr Just don't log into RS from any asian countries and you'll have nothing to worry about

Koreans and Brazilians, none of them should have any access to online MMOs period. Everyone hates them with their "ima anoying brazilian jajajajajajajajajaja" and their "go to www(dot)runescapegoldforcheap(dot)com $3.50/1M gp"
