December 17, 200817 yr As some you recall from the Christmas poll asking what we preferred you should know what was going to win. A week later they released the results proved to have; A Santa suit as a reward, Jack Frost being naughty for the quest line, and "freeze and melt" as the emote. As soon as that new article was posted there was a mass of "Merchanting Sucks" rants. Mainly this was due to that the only reason this was chosen is because greedy people wanted to sell their Santas and get major profit. Well after finally reading thousands of these "Hate" topics I got fed up with them. My personally view on merchanting is the same as investing, it doesn't bother me a bit. It's your own fault if you become to a merchants "G.E. [bleep]e". Merchants are known to stock on rare items by scamming people, then selling then to innocent people. If anyone just used the G.E. which is much more convenient as it's harder to manipulate. (It's that big building in Varrock, huge, hard miss spam field.) Most people try to stay away as it gives then real bad lagging problems and ruins their conversations with friends. Over "Medieval Nerds" never go near it as they think of it as an unfair market. Back on the topic of the Christmas Event, apart from the merchant's attempt to invest with Santas a few were mad at something else. You could put with them, but it was f2p's chance to get a summoning preview! As the Christmas event drew nearer we grew more impatient. We began to get even more impatient during the first ever Thanksgiving event. Now with Christmas event now in order how do you feel about it? Clearly within the first day Santa Hat which was exclaimed to burst, stayed stable. And guess what?!? The Santa doesn't look half bad! And for a summoning preview we got the Snow Imp with the icy necklace. Now we'll see if the Snow Imp will still teleport to you after the event it's still great fun to have something so close to summoning following us! What are your views on the "Santa Suit" Rants? Or your guess on what'll happen to the snow imps after the event is over? Discuss! ~Duncdar
December 17, 200817 yr I'd guess the imps will stay, as they said you could re-summon them using the necklace, and that the necklaces would stay after the event was over. December 17, 200817 yr e". Merchants are known to stock on rare items by scamming people, then selling then to innocent people. These sentences made me laugh. How is it some random person's fault if a bunch of merchanters manipulated the price of something. I guarantee that only a small part of the rs population was actually a part of it. And scamming people for rares? Are you kidding me? Honestly? People stock up on things using something called "foresight". They think the price of something is going to be higher in time, so they buy it when it's less. And then selling to innocent people? Is making a profit a crime? The people were willing to pay for something, it's not like they were being tricked. Hegemony-Spain

If I read it correctly, I think he's referring to people who buy like thousands of a certain item waiting for the price to go up, then cry and whine when the price tanks.
December 17, 200817 yr So many of my friends were upset by the lack of Santa hat in the reward. Their belief that we would get a Santa hat is far more upsetting than merchers to me. :wall: I don't merchant, because the sheer amount of money thrown around in that trade lessens the gaming experience for me, but I would've bought as many hats as possible before the event as well. I see no wrongdoing on their part. My advice to you is to stay of the RSOF at all costs. The ignorance that prevails there is staggering. I love to meet people; send me a pm if you see me on RuneScape! :)
December 17, 200817 yr So many of my friends were upset by the lack of Santa hat in the reward. Their belief that we would get a Santa hat is far more upsetting than merchers to me. :wall: I actually bought a santa hat before Halloween, knowing how seasonal's are. I had to buy in a junk trade for 14.6 million, leaving me with ~400k. When they announced that there would be a santa suit, I was like, baller jumpin son. But then it caused me anxiety - what if suit included hat? Then my 14.6 million investment would be worthless. Big sigh of relief when I completed the quest, and low and behold there was no hat. Before the quest I had a hard sell point at 21 million - if it ever reached it. Now I think I might raise that a little, 25 million. Either way immediately after I'm buying h'ween masks  . Thinking back though, I could've merchanted in my regular fashion for that entire period of time, and I would have upwards of 30 million right now... meh. 99 dungeoneering achieved, thanks to everyone that celebrated with me! ♪♪ Don't interrupt me as I struggle to complete this thoughtHave some respect for someone more forgetful than yourself ♪♪♪♪ And I'm not doneAnd I won't be till my head falls off ♪♪

December 18, 200817 yr I'm fine with merchanting. Hell, I bought a Santa Hat when they were 13mil back in August, cause I knew the Santa Suit won. I made 6mil profit from just sitting on it and waiting. I certainly do hope the imps will stay. Are you sure it isn't just the random ones walking around that leave? Taking a Playstation 3 break.
December 18, 200817 yr MUST KEEP SNOW IMP!!! I'll chain him to my leg if necessary. Yeah, but anyway, I loved the christmas event this year. Unfortunately, I don't have enough money to merchant efficently (just got my first mil last week), so no santa hats for me. Someday, though... EDIT 6 hours later: Just looked at my post again, and saw all the smileys had those funny hats on. I guess I will get some santa hats after all! \ I'm 100% free-to-play!!! Message me, private chat is always on. :)
