Abysslord
To start, please do not criticize me if this is found out in Legacy of Seergaze. I Have only finished up to Darknss of Hallowvale. I DO know my Runescape history though. Have you ever noticed something strange about Safalaan, leader of the Sanguinesti Myreque. Be it his all-blue eyes, untorn clothes, or the fact that he defeats Vanstrom Klause with a mysterious blast of energy, it suggests he is at least a powerful mage. But, doing further research, I discovered that what is now Meiyerditch used to be the city of the Icyene. Also, The vyrewatch look suspicously like Zilyana (The only known living Icyene) and a vampire mixed together. Could they be mutated Icyene? I am the Lord of the Abyss. I shall own those annoying runecrafters! .....eventually.
yuriqiu
It is highly suspected and suggested. Also I'm pretty sure this idea has been bought to light in another thread. Look for the topic on Dragonkins. They made a suggestion that Vampyres = corrupted Icyene. Personally I would like to see a quest to further explore the Icyene. If they can make a weapon as potent as the GS, wonder what other magical things they got stashed up somewhere.
Abysslord
Thankyou, I checked the Dragonkin topic and thought that that didn't go into Icyene enough. I am the Lord of the Abyss. yuriqiu
They covered it slightly, but honestly, besides the GS, the SS, Zilyana, and the little bits of hint from Legacy of the Seergaze quest series, there is really no info on the Icyene. It might be that the Dragonkin will eventually lead to Castle Draakan and a little bit more hint is released. *fingers crossed*

1unahtreiloh
Legacy of Seergaze shows that the Vyrewatch were once regular people, who were turned into Vyrewatch. The Icyene, i thought were imprisoned beneath Castle Drakan Safalaan, whose last name is Hallow, which ties into Queen Efiraty(sp?), may very well be an Icyene Watch me on YoutubeCurrent Let's Plays: Kingdom Hearts, Golden SunFuture Let's Plays: Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, Golden Sun II: The Lost Age
Mimesenior
This is coming from someone who isn't experienced with the Myreque storyline, but I think that the Vyrewatch were Icyene and when Drakan or the Dragonkin took over they might've done tests and experiments on them that turned them into Vyrewatch or as yuriqiu said, corrupt Icyene. The Dark Lord
Yes, the Vyrewatch are infact corrupted beings that were once normal [icyenes]. During Legacy of Seergaze, you burn one of the Vyres and see its spirit rising from the burning corpse; basically it's a human with wings. Anyway, the Vyrewatch aren't necessarily evil, but lack the freewill to do good and are tortured souls languishing inside of their own bodies. I suspect that when Lord Drakan took over Hallowvale (Morytania), he also turned the Icyene into slaves and fed upon every human being that came within his realm. By the way, does anyone know more about the Sleeping Seven? Seergaze is one of them. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on. Dax
Old news is old. It is old, but I don't think there's a good topic on this, although many have probably been attempted. Well. The Icyene must come into the Myreque storyline somewhere, so yeah, Safalaan's your best bet at that, with all the glowing and ultra vampyre pwning powers. Off Topic: All the smilies have been santa-fied! #KERR2016/17/18/19/20/21. #rpgformod

This also leads to the theory that Stafalaan is a vampire. Den
I didnt know what an Icyene was before i read this topic. Took this from Runescape Wiki: The Icyene were a race of winged beings that had inhabited the Hallowed Lands in the Second Age. During the God Wars, they were driven to extinction, although rumours say that Lord Drakan kept some of the Icyene and they served him as Vyrewatch. There is a fairly popular theory that Safalaan is an Icyene. Otherwise, it is said that Commander Zilyana, who resides in God Wars Dungeon, is an Icyene. The Icyene had also established Hallowvale, which later became Morytania. They also forged the Godsword. The Icyene are also commonly believed to be followers of Saradomin. When the Saradomin sword is examined, it reads; "The incredible blade of an Icyene." ........::::: Rainy's YouTube Channel - Rainy's Twitter - Rainy's Facebook - Rainy's DeviantArt - Rainy's Tumblr - Rainy's Tip.It Profile :::::......... Abysslord
Yes i believe the same. Maybe Safalaan is King Ascertes? Woah, wasn't Ascertes imprisoned with Efaritay and the other Icyene? He's more likely to be a prince. I am the Lord of the Abyss. I shall own those annoying runecrafters! .....eventually.
Dire_Wolf
They were, but according to information and Runescape wiki's saying the info about their existence is unknown. So for all we know, they could be alive or dead. As for Safalaan being the king, could be. But i would say he's most likely their son.
Aneron
I'd always suspected Safalaan was a vampire because his eyes look so similar to those of the Drakans in the cutscene in Darkness of Hallowvale. This theory also makes sense though.
