December 28, 200817 yr Hi, I recently only started playing again after a break of about a year to find a whole new system in place. I have just got the hang of it but to be honoust i am not the biggest fan. Tell me your opinion? December 28, 200817 yr well i like the new one better. anywhere you go you can kill people! plus it also warns you whenever your about to log into one no more luring noobs and whatnot anyway its just awesome... of course you can go to clan wars red portal for a very condensed version... :-#
December 28, 200817 yr I think the old system was better, but the reason it was changed was because of rwt. They did a good job bringing it back as much as possible, with alot of pvp styled mini games which keep me satisfyed. Thank you to tripsis for an awesome sig!
December 28, 200817 yr New system, hands down. It promotes more of a "kill or be killed" atmosphere that the original PvP one held, but failed to truly hit home. I also like that I can get a Dragonfire shield from someone at random instead of their rune. :D Linux User/Enthusiast | Full-Stack Software Engineer | Stack Overflow Member | GIMP User...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago.
January 16, 200917 yr It is sort of difficult to compare the two because they are nothing alike. People who support the old wildy are most likely doing it because it was a you kill your foe and you get their loot. This is great, but because of RWT this was taken away. I say if we were to put those variables aside and say old pvp vs. new pvp and both are new drop system or old loot system i think that new pvp worlds would be better suited. It has a very good system. You have a certain range of combat levels you can fight and you can fight anywhere! This brings a new type of environment into the game. Rather than you start a fight and your opponent quickly runs to the ditch. Instead of a border i think the bank safespots are good enough and it's great with the 10 second rule. new pvp worlds are much better tbh. Such a better system.
January 22, 200917 yr It doesn't really make a difference. PvP worlds are just the same as the wildy was, only bigger.
January 22, 200917 yr Old system, hands down: more worlds, better loot etc. You may say that you can PK anywhere, but really, who wants to PK at somewhere like Rimmington? You could PK all over the wilderness, but people only PKed at certain places, because they were close to bank/altar or some other useful location. The only difference is finding skillers in PvP is much more comon than finding skillers in the wilderness was.
January 22, 200917 yr My position on this is a secret. (see sig) Are you kidding? The old Pk system was completely superior to the hopeless excuse for a system we currently have. Before the popular pvp trick was introduced, no one even went to these hopeless worlds. If a glitch causes the majority of the people who go to pvp world s to go these because of a glitch , It is a sign that it is an inferior system. There is a popular arguement that you can go anywhere, but the whole reason that people go to pvp worlds is to fight, so most of the people fight near banks. Really, there might as well be a large arena "world" for it rather than a seperate world. Only a very small number of reckless skillers use pvp worlds. Otherwise, the whole population is PKers only. And anyway, a huge number of the best rewards in the game are in the wildy. Disgruntled, Ignorant, Rude, Obnoxious, over-the-top, unreasonable Ex-PKerDrops: Abby Whips:13/ Black Mask: 38/ Dark Bow:3
January 22, 200917 yr My position on this is a secret. (see sig) I lol'd. You didn't mention for us to read your TIF name either :P
January 22, 200917 yr I love the old wilderness and the new PvP worlds for different reasons. Then, I could be assured that at the very least I'd get all but their rune plate, or they'd tele. Now, I can be assured that I will get some random junk... not quite what they had, but similar. So, for that I like the old system better. But now I can actually train at Moss Giants in Crandor and get some decent xp, or cut yews without competition. 99 dungeoneering achieved, thanks to everyone that celebrated with me! ♪♪ Don't interrupt me as I struggle to complete this thoughtHave some respect for someone more forgetful than yourself ♪♪♪♪ And I'm not doneAnd I won't be till my head falls off ♪♪
January 22, 200917 yr i have to say i enjoyed the old one better because it was a bit simpler, kill the guy and you get what her drops. now its kill the enemy and you may get something decent or something entirley rubish. Gamertag: EFs Predator.Games I play: Halo 3, Halo wars.
January 25, 200917 yr They're so different comparing them is difficult. Right now, I'd say old Wilderness, but that's just because of some of the problems that PvP worlds that need to be ironed out. Staying near the bank should be more dangerous, and it should be balanced better so players doing the PvP trick should break even, it makes sense if you lose as much equipment as you gain. Also, teleporting is a serious problem. Fix those, Jagex, and I will love PvP worlds and never look back. ~ W ~
January 27, 200917 yr what suprises me is that jagex didn't use the new system in every world, but just in the wildeness. makes much, much more sence.
