I enjoy Bf2 more than the recent COD games to be honest, but the BC reviews aren't very pleasant.

BF2. Honestly I never saw what was so great about BC. The whole tactical destruction thing actually took away from the game more than adding to it for me.

I love 'em both. But, I remember it took me a really long time to warm up to Bad Company (about all of a five-day renting period. Summer binges are fun.).

You might as well rent it and try it out.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

The BC Multiplayer was really enjoyable for me...but campaign is very meh. It does have some great one liners in it though...so if you're the kinda person who buys $50 games for one liners....

you still have it? can you check how active the online community is?

i had BF2 but could only play offline and i rented BF: BC and played offline and online and BF2 is much better, BC is worse gameplay but destroying stuff is extremely fun for a few hours

Pfft, it's exciting until you try to hide from a tank inside a building. Then it's just a pain in the [wagon].

BF2 is much, much better than Bad Company. Bad Company is by no means a bad game, though. It's just a little dumbed down for the consoles.

(I'm assuming you're talking about BF2 for the PC. If you are talking about the console port, then yes, Bad Company is much better.)
