February 2, 200917 yr Ok. So. I was in the G.E and some noob started spouting off about age and stuff. So as a sarcasm-ish joke I said 'I'm a 60 year old man, trawling for little boys. :)' 2 hours later, i've gone from 0.1 black marks all the way to 10 black marks and am now permanently muted. How unfair is that? I know what I said was kind of wrong, but 10 black marks and a permanent mute seems far too harsh for me. How should I go about sending my appeal?
February 2, 200917 yr They dont joke about that subject. What was the total levels on that account? That mute is not comming off anytime soon.
February 2, 200917 yr Author Total level was 1597. Had a quest cape, and put a fair amount of work into it. I might just break all their rules and sell my account on ebay, if they don't lift the mute. I honestly beleive I should've been muted for a day. But a permanant mute is far far too much tbh.
February 2, 200917 yr roflcopters Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape" Jagex 01/04/01 - 02/03/12
February 2, 200917 yr If you try to sell your account on ebay, not only will ebay remove it, they will suspend your account. I wouldn't try it if I we're you. Total level was 1597 I might just break all their rules and sell my account on ebay, if they don't lift the mute. I honestly beleive I should've been muted for a day. But a permanant mute is far far too much tbh.
February 2, 200917 yr Author The game is supposed to be a social game, I retaliated ONCE to all the ridiculous comments that noobs say, calling you a no lifing nerd and what not. And what do I get? Permanent Mute. I know people who have been banned loads of times, and muted, and still no perm. They slowly get black marks. Getting 10 for one small-ish offence is [bleep]ing ridiculous, and never being able to talk properly means the game will be far less enjoyable. Can't talk to my friends properly ect which was part of what made the game fun.
February 2, 200917 yr Seems slightly unfair as I said something similar about 2 years ago and got muted for a day. But then again maybe they have become more strict. Click for blog
February 2, 200917 yr Say that it was a joke, add lots of insults to Jagex and tell them to make their game noobfree.
February 2, 200917 yr Author Im guessing its automated anyway, because they are lazy [bleep]es. I'll probably end up doing that, they won't even know.
February 2, 200917 yr Even if they are hidden, swear words are not suitable for this forum- Dragon_R Edit: Picture got removed. Don't know if it is against the rules to describe it but lets just say that the guy had a "unique" appeal that was accepted. 00:00:0500:00:0400:00:0300:00:0200:00:0100:00:00 Break the Walls down!
February 2, 200917 yr I'm gonna give you an IRL advice. If you ever plan to travel by plane, don't ever say you have a bomb as a joke. When you know the rules and you break them "as a joke", you either are stupid or... wait there's no question about that, you are stupid. Use quickchat, wait it out they sometimes revert those "perms" or start over... February 2, 200917 yr Sometimes lifes not fair. People get differnet treatments for doing the same thing. I believe that because of what you said you do desereve a mute. Maybe not a perm mute but I believe it should be longer than a day. Even if you said what you said as a joke it offened someone. we need to take the time to think about what we say before we say it. Good luck though with your appeal, and in the future watch what you type and be more guarded
February 2, 200917 yr    Seriously, PERMANENT MUTE for something as minor as this? Jagex, look closer who you're hiring to SBAT... Write a well-written appeal, even though it will probably be read by a machine while SBAT'ers are drinking their afternoon tea, no matter what Jagex says. Best of luck to you, hope you get unmuted. :( Master of Attack ~ August 29th, 2010Proud to have served the awesome Tip.It Crew <3
February 2, 200917 yr Author Oh joy. They must've muted the wrong person. I went into the G.E and I saw the guy I was arguing with. He wasn't muted at all. I went back in an hour later and he was still there but muted. And my mute had been revised to 1 day, along with his being permanent. They also took off all those black marks.
February 2, 200917 yr they do not even look at the appeals... its like an automated thing.... hopfully you get lucky Howdydee2003:99 Attack - 99 Strength - 99 Hits - 99 Magic - 99 SmithingFirst To get 99 Smithing With GoldSmithing Guants Zx7r Ninja (Currently Training) Updated 2/14/09: Ags Achieved on 2/15/0975/75 Attack 89/99 Strength 50/50 Def 78/85 Hits***Owned a Bandos Godsword since 59 Combat***
