Surprise, surprise.

It was only this quarter that I realized college isn't really friendly at all. Up to now, I've breezed through all my classes. This quarter, I decided to add a fourth class. Clever little me didn't realize that I managed to sign up for 3 upperclassmen level classes. I come home from my winter vacation to be flooded in homework, homework, and more homework. Third week of class has me writing 3 essays, reading 60 pages and writing 2 summaries based on them, and reading another 100 pages in the most boring textbook ever written.

 

 

 

But enough of that. I finally managed to catch up, so the begging of the members of our little Skype hangout caught my attention, and it was back to the God Wars Dungeon. A Bandos trip ends in disaster, thanks to our infamous colleague, Jard Y Dooku, as well as a perfectly timed blackout. Then it's time for Zil. Two trips in a row, I try void, and I end up getting killed by Bree and Starlight. Literally. What a great return to God Wars!

 

 

 

A few days after, I get clamors of "Arma Arma Arma!" Oh great, the one boss I REALLY don't like. Nevertheless, I'm game... until I realize I neither have Armadyl armor, nor typical ranging gear. Void waves hi. Teammates are getting KC... and we have a team of 6 or so. Void waves hi again. I put on the void, and grab my killcount as well. About an hour later, we're finally armed, with killcount, with me wearing the void that I died twice with in the past two trips. This was shaping up to be a great trip.

 

 

 

And it was. Within 5 or 6 kills, we've got a nice Arma helm split sitting on the ground. It's a bit low, really, only 700K or so per person IIRC, but hey, everyone else is cheering, everyone else is happy, so I'm happy too. Until I see my brother, Muddybob say "What the heck? 21M split?" Across the hall I go, and find that he indeed is holding 21M cash. Maybe because he forgot to bank his money after buying his potions from the Grand Exchange. Here we go, down the roller coaster. Within 20 minutes, our 6 man trip has become a 3 man trip. Short is going "How the heck did this happen?" in his corner, Mad is shaking his head, swearing never to go after Kree with us again in another, and I knew precisely what was going to happen next. It was pretty obvious really, me in the void I'd said I'd never wear again at GWD with 4 or less people, on a 3 man trip.

 

 

 

"Oh dear, you have died!"

 

 

 

The aftermath of the trip was, I had to go back for my void, Short was too busy laughing to say anything, Mad had promised never to go Kree with us again, and Muddybob was sitting in the Armadyl's Eyrie, with his full gear and 40 killcount, thinking we were doing another trip.

 

 

 

That brings us to tonight. It's homework night in our little Skype partyroom. Mad's got his physics, I've got my Democraticwhat'sitcalled, and Short has his Caligula essay, and plenty of physics and calculus. And Muddybob is still sitting in Armadyl's Eyrie, with 40 killcount, waiting for us to go Arma with him. After Mad gets through most of his physics, I rope him into doing a 4-man with us somehow (he rarely keeps his promises ;)), so it's him, Muddybob, Artemis1330, and me. This time in actual range gear, not void.

 

 

 

Muddy had his killcount already. I grab mine next. Then Mad gets his. Then we all realized Artemis bailed on us. Oh well. We can't really wait, seeing as we've all got classes tomorrow, so we figured we'd trio it. "Ready?" I ask. "Ready!" comes the answer. I walk in with protect range on. Mad walks in with protect range on. Muddy walks in without prayer on. Muddy gets hit. Muddy turns on protect magic. Muddy dies.

 

 

 

"How the hell did you manage that!?"

 

 

 

Yea. He waited for a WEEK at Armadyl's Eyrie, asking every day to go Arma, only to walk in and turn on protect mage. I already know this trip is going to end in disaster but I figured we may as well finish the first kill. I keep shooting, keep shooting. Meanwhilst, I see comments like:

 

 

 

"Seriously?"

 

"Fail of the century goes to Han (Muddybob)."

 

"*Waits a week at arma with KC*"

 

"Madmanpur3 has just died."

 

 

 

****. YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! Here I am, staring down a massive bird that I've never, never bothered solo-ing, and is my least favorite of all four bosses to fight. The boss who's NEVER given me an Armadyl Hilt, be it CS, LS, or normally. The boss who always kills half my teammates and forces me to teleport. And I'm alone.

 

 

 

Well, he's low health, and he's still blowing this huge gusts at me... I guess I'll keep shooting. There's another 0. Oh boy he's getting closer now. There's another 0. A 31. There's the weird shrieking sound when it dies... and there's no lootshare message. Oh right, everyone's dead. So what's the drop? Hmm... I've never seen that before. Wait. What? Does that really say Armadyl Hilt?

 

 

 

"Bless me?"

 

 

 

"Okay..."

 

 

 

I bless the grave and take another look. "Really? Armadyl Hilt?" I click it. It goes to my inventory, and it still says Armadyl Hilt. I altar out of the room and look again. And I examine it. "Brimming with potential."

 

 

 

"You guys aren't going to believe this..."

 

 

 

Oh, and as you hopefully realize, I really found it hard to believe it was actually a hilt til I already altar teled. I got a screenshot later, after both Muddy and Mad insisted I post it. I know there'll be some disbelievers... but whatever. Here's a picture of me still in the Eyrie with the hilt, if that'll satisfy you.

And Mad insists I'm a horrible story teller. Sucks to be him. :P

 

 

 

Anyhow, I'm probably going to find some way to transfer this to Muddy, seeing as he's the only one of us without a Godsword, and have him pay Mad a chunk of cash. Keeping a second Armadyl Godsword as a bankspace marker seems a tad wasteful. As Suze always says, People first, then money, then things.

In my defense, I told them prior to the trip that I was really tired so I'd probably end up dying. But I guess afk-ing to tell everyone the story of Muddy dying, thus letting my pray run out, wasn't the best idea. :lol: (Hits on me were 0-0-57 when I didn't have pray up, first 2 were mage I think)

 

 

 

Oh well, sleep time.

P.S. - Soma didn't solo kree! He's a liar, I helped him get kree down to like 20% hp or so before I died. ;)

P.S. - the drop rates are a lot higher than 1:50 or 1:75 for a sigil.

We got sigil after 53 kills, 15+ members of clan do CB, if we get sigil at this rate would take 795 CB kills without being 100% right it would be a elysian sigil, not elixir for example...

 

 

 

Hope you are not too idiot to get what i mean...

 

1. I don't have to know someone in order to call them an idiot if in fact they are doing something rather dumb.

 

2. GWD is considerably better for making cash than CB is.

 

3. Good luck getting an elysian sigil every 53 kills. -.- I'll just let my sara hilt splits add up daily while you get your sigil splits weekly (if even).

I actually go CB with lootshare, since my teammates at both God Wars and Corporeal Beast are close enough that we can usually come up with some sort of compromise. When we were killing the Corporeal, we all pretty much knew what each other wanted most, and we figured no matter who got the sigil, we'd sell it to the person who wanted that particular one (at the ridiculously low GE price).

 

 

 

When you're boss hunting with friends, how to split the loot should rarely be a problem. You'll work things out... or should be able to, if you're really friends.
