Cheefoo
I have 73 range at the moment, and want to get it up. I've done aviansies, but I'm sure there's a faster way to train it than that. However, I'm in no position to spend so much money on chinchompas, so forget that. I need a good training spot that will get me at least 60k xp an hour. I tried fire giants with iron knives... I got 6k xp in 10 minutes. Not good. Any and all help would be appreciated! Cheefoo
I'll go with iron knives, actually. I might as well use them as I already bought them. They cheap enough already, I'd spend a bit more money for faster training at such a small scale. Does anyone have an estimate for xp per hour for me? Please remember, I have 73 range. mmmcannibalism
probably about 50k/hour at that level unless your really good at staying 100% on task I earned 55k an hour in the low 80s, but ive heard 60k an hour as the max so 50-60k is the general estimate. BabyPunchers
/HI JACK - does accumilator work with knifes - what is the all mighty weapon to train with? -Yes -Rune Crossbow with Broad Bolts 55k per hour seems a bit high at your level, even for Yaks. But hey, I could be wrong, never used them. Thanks to all those who have messaged me concerning a revamp of my Range-Slayer guide. Because of you all I will start rewriting it asap.[/color] Formerly RobinHoodie.
Cheefoo
I think I got about 50k xp in one hour. It might have been 45k, I'm not sure. I used ranging potions and iron knives, not to mention I was pretty darn focused. Compared to chinchompas, this is only like one sixth the speed. I thought 60k xp an hour would be the minimum for alternative training, seeing as it's only one fifth of chinchompas. Well, I'm still against chinchompas, and I'm finding yaks with iron knives to be working well at the moment. But what if I kicked it up to rune crossbow and broad bolts? Would that increase the xp rate, or is the slower speed not worth it? Deathmath
Lots slower, like half exp tbh. I just slay, ranged levels go fatser. Or do aviansies tbh, went pretty darned fast and a lot of cash. (I can get almost those rates using some 'alternative' methods) Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again

mmmcannibalism
But what if I kicked it up to rune crossbow and broad bolts? Would that increase the xp rate, or is the slower speed not worth it? knives are great training on yaks because fast rate+low defense of target=near max xp rate(for given weapon and level) rune cbow has some defense busting ability so its better suited for range training that involves hitting something stronger then a yak Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed. llamster
Stick with aviansies. No other training spot besides chins comes close. Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:
The Dark Lord
Yaks [cabbage]. Everyone needs to stop recommending yaks! They are becoming more and more overcrowded, which drastically reduces the exp/hour since you have 5-6 people competing with you. There's also been an invasion of melee trainers that are nuisances for rangers. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on. Sinkhan
I personally use steel darts on slayer tasks. Steel darts theoretically should be stronger than at least bronze knives, are cheaper than iron knives, and have a slightly higher ranged bonus than both  Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
Tesset
Ok, since everyone is so set on yaks... Stronghold of security spiders-about 60k an hour. Take knives, maybe a shield, a bunyip/food(they do just a little damage) and full range bonus. Cannoning ice trolls-about 45k an hour, plus a little profit. http://www.truthscape.com/html/ts_TruthScapeMonsterSecretsIceTrollsCannonTrainingGui.htm Combination Aviansies/Chins-165k an hour? I've never done this personally, but, coming from compfreak, it's probably right. Just do Aviansies, then spend what you make there on chins, and use them up. It's tons faster than yaks, or any other training spot, and you make money. Really, if you don't care about cash, aviansies/chins are best My skin is finally getting softI'll scrub until the damn thing comes off

Even though armored zombies are far better for melee training than yaks. I saw a few level 100's training melee at yaks. I told them to try armored zombies, as they're way better... Of course, this started an argument. This one guy said "Well why don't you go there?" I said that I was training range, so it wouldn't work. He said "So what, noob?" I told him that the whole point is the salve amulet which speeds up training immensely. He zinged me, "Does it look like I care?" Then... I told him to shut up, he said how he'd tell me off, but he bets I'm a report noob, I say I don't care if your daddy taught you a few bad words, that annoyed him, he started yelling, I said "You aren't proving anything, so shut your mouth" then he started swearing, I reported him, he said I was annoying and I said, "Well, you won't be annoying anyone for awhile yourself." I don't know if he got the hint, but he kept rather quiet. That's the one flaw in arguments, some people are just too stupid to know they lost.
